The Alpha's Assasin

Emerson Mae was never treated quite right. Always pushed to her limits but never considered enough for her pack. She was left on the doorstep of an Alpha and Luna as a baby. Not knowing where she came from the Alpha automatically gave her the position of Omega. Everyone laughed at her, picked on her, and thought little to nothing of her. Until she turned 16, then everyone feared her. She discovered that she was not only a werewolf but a witch as well, making her more powerful than the rest of her pack. Therefore she was banned, the Alpha fearing his bloodline would no longer hold the title of Alpha. She did her best to survive on her own and ended up becoming an assassin. But what happens when she takes a job requiring her to take down the most powerful Alpha there is?

Chapter 4 - Beautiful Mate

"Run darling." I teasingly mused. Her eyes locked with mine and filled with fear. She may not have realised it yet, but she was already mine. Even if she tried to run I knew she couldn't beat me, I had her and we both knew it.

I continued to stare into her eyes and I could practically see the wheels turning, weighing her options. Her eyes were a beautiful brown, unlike most wolves whose eyes were hazel or green. And as we continued to stare at each other I thought I saw the faintest flicker of a bright purple flash through them. Deciding it was a trick of the light I decided I'd give her a few seconds before I started chasing after her. Even these few seconds apart had been testing my wolfs restraint, he was vigorously trying to be in control, he wanted what belonged to him.

When I bit her my mouth tingled with pleasure where we touched, and her hot blood tasted sweet on my tongue. I knew in that moment that she was mine, but letting her know that might cause complications. She still had her silver knife and I was unsure as to how she would react to the situation. Not willing to take the risk I needed to catch her first. Then maybe I could show her what we were. Maybe then she would see the beauty in it.

I snapped back into reality as I smelled the sweetest thing. It smelled like vanilla, and warm milk with a dash of honey. I don't know why I couldn't smell her before but now it was all I could think about. The smell flooded my senses and my judgement, I could practically feel my eyes darkening from the need to touch her, to mark her, and to bed her.

I lunged at her, preparing for the warm sensation that came from touching her skin. I wanted to rip the mask off and take in all of her beauty. But instead of her I felt the hard smack of the ground and the crunch of dry leaves under my skin. She was gone, I realised in utter disbelief.

She had a witch helping her. At least I assumed it was a witch since wizards are extremely rare, it being much more common for females to inherit the magic gene. I didn't care who it was but they would pay for taking her from me. I needed her, I would be weak without her. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to reach out to my second in command through mind link.

"James." I called out bluntly, though the words were not spoken. Mindlink is a connection that members of a werewolf pack share. This connection allows them to talk telepathically with one another. Of course there are ways to stop someone from communicating with you and with a little practice was easily achieved. However no one would dare shut off a mind link with their Alpha.

"What do you need Naziah?" Came a slightly sarcastic remark a few moments later. My second in command and closest friend James was one of the few who could call me by my first name and not my title. The others consisted of family and would soon include the pretty little girl who tired to murder me. I let out a deep sigh as I tried not to think of all the ways she would say my name.

"I need as many groups as we can out on border patrol looking for rogues, and I need you and two of your choice to follow me outside the perimiter." I responded. I wasn't sure how far she had gotten but I needed to find her. I could feel his confusion so I answered the question before he even asked it.

"Tell those dispatched that the rogues are to be left unharmed and to directly report to me if they find one." and with that statement word was law. My best fighters were sent out as James and I left the pack borders with two other top fighters. No matter what, I will have my mate.

It had been an hour and there was still nothing to report. As each minute ticked by I became angrier and quickened my pace desperate to find this woman.

Twigs were snapping loud and hard underneath my paws. My breathing was rugged and I was starting to feel the effects of the wolfsbane. I had pulled the arrow out before James and the two others arrived but the wolfsbane had already entered my bloodstream. Lucky enough I was an Alpha, and the wolfsbane wouldn't kill me it would only tire me out for a while. As I began to slow down a voice entered my thoughts.

"Alpha, we found a rogue girl just on the inside of the border. She has a bite wound on her right calf and seems to be unconscious from blood loss. She seemed to be in the middle of wrapping her leg when she passed out." I recognized the voice as Elias, one of the troop leaders that had been sent on patrol.

"Excellent, that sounds like her. I'm on my way." I started bluntly. But I was filled with remorse and guilt overlayed with a sense of emergency. I quickened my pace towards the direction Elias's mindlink came from. If she was bleeding out she would've been doing so for about an hour and needed a doctor quickly.

As I rushed in their direction I told the pack doctor to have a room ready and to be on standby for when I arrived. As I got closer to her I smelled her blood and then her overwhelming scent of vanilla and warm milk and honey. We came closer and I saw the group standing over a small figure on the ground. I got closer and realised she was quite small, and it was amusing that she thought she could take me.

I stopped next to her and shifted into my human form. I gently brought one arm under her shoulders and one under her knees, letting her head rest against my shoulder. I pulled the mask down from her face so that she could breathe easier.

She was beautiful. She had long eyelashes that brushed the top of her cheek bones. A small round nose, one that reminded me of a puppy, plentiful with freckles that branched out onto her cheeks. She had full, pink lips that I so desperately wanted to kiss. I couldn't stop staring at her. Her body was warm against mine and where our skin touched there was a tingling sensation that coursed through me.

I heard James tell Elias to call for a pack ambulance to come pick us up. But until then all I could do was stare and hold on tightly to my beautiful mate.

Just to let you all know in case you are interested Naziah is pronounced Nuh-zay-uh.
