Maya drove into the pack house with a smile on her lips. Normally, she had always called before visiting her mate but this time, she decided to pay him a surprise and unannounced visit.

Her mate is no other than the Alpha Eric, the Alpha of her pack. He was handsome, intelligent, and one of the most powerful Alphas.

When Maya discovered that she was mated to him, it came as a shock and what made her more astonished was his willingness to start a relationship with her, a lowly person.

Maya pushed her thoughts aside and brought her car to a slow halt. This car was a birthday gift from him. With a smile on her lips, she got out of her car and locked it.

She walked towards the door of the beautiful mansion and was greeted by the guards, some of them even called her, Luna. It always made her shy and proud.

Slowly, she opened the door and strode inside. Her smile broadened as her mate's scent penetrated her nostrils. She sauntered upstairs with excitement but her steps slowly came to a halt.

Weird sounds were coming from the room and she wondered what they were. On second thought, she became worried that Eric might be hurt.

Quickly, Maya rushed towards his room and flung the door open. The second she stepped in, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Ohhh!" the female moaned, she was on top of Eric, riding on his cock.

Watching them, broke Maya's fragile heart to pieces.

The woman climbed off Eric and Maya was shocked again to see that she wasn't any ordinary harlot but Eric's right-hand woman Eunice.

Maya had always suspected that Eunice had an interest in Eric, she even went further to ask him if she had ever made advances at him but Eric denied it.

He claimed that Eunice was a decent woman and he only had eyes for Maya. Remembering his words so vividly made Maya's heartbreak into a million pieces.

"Your petty little mate is here to see you," Eunice lay on the bed, mocking Maya.

Eric looked at Maya with these unfamiliar emotions in his eyes. His eyes used to be filled with love and affection but those pairs of eyes staring at Maya were filled with disdain.

"How could you do this to me?" Maya asked with painful tears trickling down her cheeks. "I thought you said there was nothing between the both of you apart from a platonic relationship."

After saying this, Maya expected Eric to show some kind of shame for his actions but instead, he chortled. He slowly stood up naked and put on his boxers.

Once he was done, he looked at Maya again and started laughing.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, casually as if nothing happened.

Maya became enraged rather than heartbroken, that upon his infidelity, he still had the guts to mock and taunt her. She never imagined that Eric would stoop to such a low level to humiliate her.

"Eric, you just cheated on me." Maya let out a sob; her heart was wrenching in her chest.

Eric chuckled; "You should have called before coming, then maybe you would have saved yourself from seeing this".

Maya gazed at him and couldn't recognize him, this wasn't the man had fallen in love with months ago. The Alpha she loved was kind and sweet towards me despite her status, he always loved her.

"Eric, why are you doing this to me? Why are you hurting me so much? I thought you loved me"Fat balls of tears dropped out of Maya's eyes as she asked those questions with a broken voice.

Instead of showing some ounce of guilt for his action, Eric said without remorse; "What made you think that an Alpha like me would love you?"

The question was like a hard slap to Maya's face and a deep stab to her heart. She never imagined that he would be so cruel towards her.

"Is that enough reason for you to be so nasty to me? Eric, I loved you with all my heart and it wasn't because you were an Alpha or my mate…I love you because you meant the world to me" Maya said with her lips trembling.

Eunice suddenly burst into a roaring laughter. Her laughter made Maya feel so pathetic and stupid.

"You meant the world to me." She mimicked and continued in her ridicule.

"Did she seduce you? Are you in your rut, couldn't you control it?" Maya asked, wondering if Eric didn't do anything purposely or was tempted by Eunice.

Eric suddenly hollered; "Why are you being so absurd? Don't you get it, I was never in love with you and I will never be!"

"You were just my plaything, you aren't worth anything, not even my time. You are not and will never be up to the woman that my dear Eunice is,".

"Ahhh!"

Maya's teary eyes shifted to Eunice who had also covered her nakedness.

"You will always be, the poor and miserable orphan girl." Eunice chipped in with a mocking smile etched on her face.

Maya couldn't hold it in again, she dropped to her knees and began crying loudly. She raised her head as Eric spoke again.

"You were never worthy to be my mate…" He said. "I, Alpha Eric, reject you Maya as my mate."

At Eric's rejection, Maya's wolf wailed inside of her and her hand flew to her chest in pain.
