1 Chapter 1: World Crossing

In the 21st centruy, A bus arrived in the parking lot of a school. A total of 9 children were waiting in this bus when it arrived. The teacher got out of the driver's seat, stepped outside and stood at the door. She has long brown hair, Glasses and a short figure.

"Okay, all of you line up, Come on," She instructed.

The students all lined up according to what she said and one boy was purposely pushed out of the line by a male student. Soon after a few more students laughed at him and mocked him with insulting names such as "loser"or"nerd". The boy searched around for his glasses before putting it back on his face and reopened his eyes revealing blue pupils. His long white hair and long bangs covered most of his face and after putting on his glasses he saw someone standing in front of him. It was a girl, she has blond hair, red gem-like eyes and with a pure smile on her face she reached out her hand to him.

"Come one Jason you shouldn't let others bully you like this."

"I'm sorry Amelia," Jason apologized.

"Don't apologize jason. I'm here for you always," She reassured. Then she reaches out her hand to him, "Take my hand."

Jason held her warm soft hand and stood back on his feet. He stood at a height of 156 cm while she stood at 165 so she was taller than him but Jason didn't mind. As he looked at her he kept blushing and the boys who pushed him looked at him with envy. After boarding the bus the teacher explained what was going to happen on the field trip while Jason sat at the back with Amelia by his side. The bullies in the seat ahead kept looking at them with an irritated and angered look on the faces.

"Dude, how did a girl like Amelia Griswold fall for a guy like Jason Yeager?"

"The more I look the less I understand."

"Don't worry guys," Said the boy who pushed Jason earlier. A boy with red hair, yellow eyes and a muscular build. "Once we reach the mountains, we'll show him who's really in charge."

Amelia in the backseat overheard what they were saying and she was furious upon hearing those words.

"Did you hear what they are saying?" She asked jason.

"Uhm—No—why?" He asked in befuddlement.

"Nevermind, It's nothing. Hey, I got you an anniversary gift."

She took out a small box and gave it to him, Jason opened it and inside is a necklace.

"It's been 5 months since we started dating and I wanted to give you a present, see I have a matching one," Amelia blushed as she showed him the necklace around her neck.

Jason placed the necklace around his neck and couldn't help but feel flustered. "Thank you, I love it," He said softly.

His words Amelia blushed and she kept looking at him with a shy expression. Suddenly a girl screamed at the front of the bus as her hands slowly turned into light particles. Not only her but all of her classmates that were on the bus. Everyone started to panic and wondered about what's going on.

"Jason! The same thing is happening to me!" Amelia yelled.

Amelia pointed out as her hair was turning into light. Jason was frightened and noticed that his legs were disappearing. Miss Emma who was driving the bus hands started to turn into light particles and she no longer has control over the steering wheel of the bus.

The bus suddenly went out of control, swerved and drove off a cliff. Everyone screamed and panicked as they fell to their doom. The bus struck the bottom and exploded on impact. Jason who had his eyes tightly closed, slowly opened them. The ceiling is very bright and it took a while for his eyes to be adjusted to the light.

"Where are we?"

"What's going on? I don't understand."

Everyone noticed that they're sitting on a magic circle engraved in the ground. They were also surrounded by Nuns in white robes and their face was covered by the hood of their robe. One of the Nuns stepped forward and walked on the magic circle towards them. She was much taller than the others and only her eyes were covered with a white blindfold with a golden cross on it.

"Who are you people and what's going on?" Miss Emma questioned them.

"Please. Do not fear for I am Ferora, a humble servant of our Goddess Meratim. This is an urgent matter because the world is in grave danger as the Demon Queen is planning to invade our country. We are in desperate need of assistance and so we have brought you here as Heroes who is willing to fight for us," Ferora explained.

"You brought us here to put our lives in danger, I'm sorry but that's a no-no, I won't let my students be put in danger like that," Miss Emma protested. She refused to let her student be used in war. However her students behind her seem enticed by this offer.

"Please, we are begging you, if you help up we are more than willing to send you back home once you've fulfilled our request and you need not worry about being place in danger for you have been granted power during the world crossing," Ferora offered.

"Hold on a minute," The red haired bully intervened, "You said that we have power correct, if we help you will you grant us more power and wealth?"

"Yes. As heroes you'll be treated as the Savior of Humanity and thus you'll be compensated and accommodated for," Ferora explained.

The students were enticed by this offer except for Jason. He's a big fan of Isekai anime and manga and so he's more interested in just the world.

"Jason, are you excited about this?" Amelia asked in bewilderment.

"Of-course I am," He responded with eyes filled with excitement and joy.

Soon the other students agreed to the job. However Miss Emma protested against it but her student's decision far outnumbered hers.

"We'll accept it," Said the red haired boy as he smirked.

"Thank you so much. Before we bring you to your rooms we would like to do an affinity test. It's a basic examination to see which elemental affinity do each of you possess. If you would be so kind I would like you to follow me," She requested.

Ferora and the other nuns lead them out of the summoning chambers and to the surface. The students were in awe as they looked around at the large entrance hall of the church. The floor was covered in white and gold Tiles, the Pillars were white and the Statues were made of gold. Jason kept looking around the room and became shocked. He looked at his hand and noticed that Amelia's hand was inside his.

"I'm a little scared, are we going to go up against a demon lord?" She asked worringly.

"Don't worry, once we defeats the Demon Queen we can return back home until then I'll protect you," Jason reassured her with a smile on his face.

The students followed Ferora to some sort of chamber and in the center of that chamber is a small Fountain. There was another nun standing by the fountain and she bowed upon seeing Ferora.

"Each of you will place your hand in the water and the Magic seeping from your pores will mix in the water and changing its color and when that happens we will know what your affinity is," The nun instructed.

"I'll go first," the red haired boy volunteered. He cracked his knuckles as he walked toward the fountain with a smirk on his face.

The nun asked him for his name and he responded to Han Everest. After stating his name, Han places his hand in the water and slowly it changes from colorless to bright orange.

"You have an affinity for the element of Fire," The Nun Informed. Han was excited and was impressed by his results.

"Way to go man, now it's my turn."

His other friend gave their name Rolland and placed their hand in the fountain and the water changed to bright yellow.

"You have an affinity for the elements of lightning," The nun informed.

One by one the student went and Jason studied the elements carefully.

'So bright orange is fire, Yellow is Lightning, Green is Wood, Brown is Earth, Silver is wind, Blue is water, Purple is gravity and Sky Blue is ice, there's a lot—I wonder what's rare?' He wondered to himself.

The teacher Miss Emma placed her hand in the water and the water remained colorless.

"You have no affinity," The nun informed.

"I'm glad...That way I don't have to be used in war," She said with a huff as she turned and walked away.

"Next," The nun called out.

The next person in line is Amelia and she was nervous.

"Don't worry, You'll be fine," Jason reassured her.

"Thanks."

Amelia stepped forward and slowly placed her hand in the water. She closed her eyes tightly expecting the worst result when suddenly the nun cried out.

"Dear god," The nun gasped. The water was glowing white and all the nuns around were in awe. "An Affinity for light!"

Based on their reaction it was clear to them that light was rare. Someone with an affinity for light hasn't been seen in two hundred years and so it was a miracle for one to be born in this era. Ferora walked up to Amelia and placed her hand on Amelia's shoulder.

"Young lady, you have been chosen by the element of to serve the people. It is the greatest honor," Ferora praised Amelia.

"Uhm...thank you," Amelia expressed her gratitude by taking a bow.

"Next."

Jason stepped forward, deep in his heart he felt that he was going to be chosen by light as well.

'Please, let it be light, so I can stay by Amelia side,' He thought to himself as he placed his hand in the water.

Suddenly the water turned black and misty then all of the nun panicked. Even the nun who was standing near the fountain fell flat on her bottom in despair.

"T-The affinity for Darkness!" she yelled.
