CHAPTER 10

[FINN POV]

As Tim and I jumped into the portal....more like me dragging Tim into our possible deaths or escape we were kindly and gracefully embraced by the cold, stony rocky ground which made contact with our faces.... we fell on our faces and it hurt a lot.

While trying to get up and still trying to gather my thoughts I felt a shiver creep up my spine as I felt am ominous presence coming from behind me .... oh yeahhh I forgot about Tim.. well I'm screwed. Before I could even start trying to pacify the evil presence A.K.A Tim, he had already gotten the jump on me. Pushing me to the ground I was once again reunited with the familiar stony ground which just can't seem to get enough of my face, while on top of me Tim started his onslaught of pulling my bear hat which in turn also in turn also included him pulling my hair!! Ouch!!

"WHY WOULD YOU DRAG ME OF A CLIFF!! AND! YOU HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING WHERE THAT PORTAL WOULD TAKE US!!"

Said Tim while looking like he was still recovering from the shock of almost dying.

" Tim buddy, buddy, BUDDY, I'm going to need you to CHILL.... just take a deep breath and relaxxxxxx... "

I say to him in order to pacify him so he doesn't suddenly have a heart attack while pulling my hair, don't get me wrong it doesn't hurt that much to cause alarm it's just going to be really annoying to untangle all that later.

Tim deciding to heed my advice gets off me for a while to take deep breaths... finally some breathing room, getting up from the ground I take a look around to survey our surroundings and based on how there is more light in this cave compared to the first one i was in we seem to be in.... an entirely new cave!! Finally some progress, but I still have no idea where we are.

"It seems the gods have shown us mercy, we've somehow managed to teleport to one of the upper levels of the tower of babel."

Tim says after finally taking a good look of his surroundings.

I don't understand some of what he said but it sounded like progress to me!!

"If we just follow my map we can follow it to the stairs then from their to the surface world!!"

Tim says with joy and relief. Wait a minute. Did he just say he had a map?! This little bitch.

"Tim..Have you had that map with you the entire time?"

I ask as I calmly(murderously) walk towards him.

"Yes actually I've had the map since I entered the dungeon"

Tim says innocently clearly not being able to read the room.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU USE IT THEN????"

Finn asks a bit exasperated and slightly annoyed

"Finn you really are an idiot aren't you"

Tim states while laughing much to Finn's annoyance.

"Whatever, well at least we're finally getting out of here , that's good news right???"

Finn says to Tim with a hint of excitement in his voice.

But suddenly the light in the cave abruptly dimmed down a notch and the atmosphere suddenly got tense causing Tim and I to enter into a battle stance. A few seconds passed before we heard the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching from our front. Probably a horde of monsters coming up hill to eat us.I spread my legs a bit to be balanced a bit better.

"Here they come."

To which Tim nods And right on queue.

*GROWL* *GROWL**GROWL* *GROWL*GROWL* *GROWL*GROWL*

Running right at Me with the intent to kill was a green grotesque monster, a short green creature with rags wrapped around its private to simulate or imitate human clothing and a poorly carved and misshapen wooden club which it swung at me.

Tilting my body to the right I sweep the goblin of its feet and disarm him, while it's still getting its bearings I use its club to end its misery.

*CRUNCH*

It's body went limp and then dissipated in a plume of dark smoke. No matter how many times I've done this is still pretty disturbing.

The battle cry of another goblin caught my attention, though it was still a but far away.

Focus Finn you can have your moral dilemma later, let's just make it out through this.I mutter to myself mostly to reassure myself of what needed to be done.

Suddenly I get an amazing idea and I know what you're thinking who in their right mind would try out a crazy idea during a life or death situation? Well obviously me and jake and a few other friends of mine, well except Tim obviously. Still holding on to the club of the now dead goblin, I get into a batters stance.

Well my plan is simple. I'm just going to swing my club like crazy and kill all the monsters, simple right?Taking a deep breath I felt a smile creeping up on my face, my blood pumping and my thirst for battle rising.

Once again like as if every goblin shares the same brain cell, the second goblin lunged at me with his club swinging down vertically at me,taking a step back, tightening my grip around the club i swing with a bit of power behind it, the goblin looks up at me preparing to try to bash me with its club once again , only for its head to be cleanly separated from its body before it could complete its action. A quick and simple death. But that was just the beginning of things. I don't know whether the monsters have some sort of telepathy to communicate with each other because now they all seemed to want to attack me all at once, but there was a hint of weariness in their eyes but that seemed to be overshadowed by their bloodlust.Well it probably wasn't a good idea to let such a large group surround me, well you live and you learn. A bunch of goblins, minotaur and weird looking wolf dogs lunged at me and I readily accepted the challenge.

************************************************I know its been a long time since I posted I'm really really sorry for that I've just been so busy withhaving to deal with a break up, getting sick and school. But now since I'm on a 2 week break I've decided to try and pick up where I stopped.
