Justice and Blissful Ignorance!

September 30

Newham Lake

"Evildoers lurking around. Clues clues clues, I must search and bring them to justice!" A young woman said while looking for clues with her magnifying glass.

"Detective...there hasn't been a crime since Maria Marshall was arrested. Just face the facts. No one is gonna hire you..." A male said. "You were lucky enough to even been on the top five best Junior Detectives...I feel like they just felt sorry for you."

"No Mr. Ace, I am skilled at my job! Justice will be served! They will pay their restitution!" The woman looked at Ace.

"Retribution.." Ace sighed. "Besides you won't even come close to Ash, Erika, Gray, nor Alice...You--"

"Shush! I spy a suspicious person!" The woman walked forward an grabbed someone's sleeve. "Aha! Eep!"

"Hm? Ah Liliana, what brings you to the park today?" Olivia asked.

"D-Detective Olivia! I'm sorry!" Liliana let go of Olivia's sleeve and bowed constantly.

"It's quite alright." Olivia giggled. "I see you're still working hard to search for a lick of crime huh?"

"Y-Yes! I'm working very hard...even though I end up being a suspect or a victim most of the times..ehehe..." Liliana rubbed the back of her head.

Liliana Armon...a girl who went to the same Highschool as me. Honestly she's blissfully ignorant and one clumsy girl. Honestly a bit too clumsy for her job. She ends up always being a suspect or a victim of a crime then has to have a Defense Attorney to get her out of a pickle. Honestly...she means no harm, but she's always at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Oh! Have you seen Alice? I wanna congratulate her on her first trial!" Liliana smiled.

"She's most likely at home. I haven't seen her since the trial. I would've thought she would've been celebrating honestly, but I guess it was a bit stressful? I can't really say for sure." Olivia tapped her chin and looked up.

"Detective Armon...We do not have time for chitchat...those were your words." Ace said and crossed his arms.

"But...but this is Detective Olivia! We can make some exceptions!" Liliana puffed her cheeks.

"And who's this young fellow?" Olivia looked at Ace.

"This is my Defense Attorney, Ace Spade! He has skills a normal attorney does not have, such as High Level Bluffs and Gambling with Evidence." Liliana smiled.

"Gambling with evidence..? How can you do such a task in court?" Olivia asked. "These attorneys get more fearsome by the days go by."

"Easy...you can't gamble with evidence if you don't know how to bluff. Plus I don't even have to be her attorney because the moment the judge sees Liliana she's declared innocent. She just has extremely bad luck." Ace ruffled Liliana's hair. "Plus this is my adoptive sister...I have to protect her."

"Oh? What happened to your parents Liliana?" Olivia asked.

"That's what I wanna find out! They went missing!" Liliana looked at Olivia determined. "I shall find out this mystery and bring justice to light!"

Olivia smiled and nodded then poked her forehead. Liliana blushed and looked at Olivia then watched her stand up. Olivia placed a hand on her hip.

"Before you can do that form of task, you need experience. Right now...You lack that not because you can't do your job but because you aren't able to do so with your bad luck and everything." Olivia smiled. "You're too blissfully ignorant about your surroundings, you have a hindrance on peripheral vision, a one track mind. To be a detective you need to be more aware on your surroundings."

"More aware?" Liliana thought and tapped her nose with her finger. "How do I do that?"

"By not being a fool." Ace said and sighed.

"Now now Ace, she's doing her best. Soon she'll blast off before you know it." Olivia giggled.

"Yeah blast off to the Shadow Realm.." Ace mumbled.

"Shadow Realm? What's that?" Liliana asked.

Ace shook his head and sighed again. Olivia giggled and crossed her arms then looked at Liliana. Ace and Liliana were very close and Ace wanted to protect Liliana from whatever dangers came her way. Liliana was mostly always in her own little world. Olivia reached in her pocket and pulled out a badge then took Liliana's hand. Liliana looked at the badge then Olivia.

"The Badge of Luck. You need it more than I do." Olivia smiled. "This will certainly help you in the long run."

The Badge of Luck was a Golden Badge with a symbol of a four leaf clover in the middle. Liliana looked at the badge and held it up to the sky, amazed by the glow. She smiled and brought it back down and clipped it to her jacket.

"Thank you!" Liliana bowed.

"It's nothing, just a little gift. I'll catch you around." Olivia smiled and walked off.

Liliana watched her then grabbed her magnifying glass and jogged off. Ace opened his eyes and noticed her run off then chased after her.

"Liliana! Wait up!" Ace said.

"Justice can not wait! Where there is crime, there shall be justice! Ace Detective Liliana is on the rise!" Liliana said.

"This girl.." Ace sighed.

Ash leaned against a wall and blew some smoke from his mouth and smirked then opened his eyes.

"Some things will never change huh..?" Ash said then walked the other way.

I leaned against the rails of the balcony and heard some music playing then looked back and saw Mari dancing. I looked down and smiled a bit, shaking my head.

"Come on Aunt Alice! Join the fun!" Mari said.

"We should be celebrating!" Sophia walked out on the balcony then took my arm and swayed left and right.

At this point I was forced to dance, but I didn't hate it. I just felt embarrassed when I have to dance. Sophia giggled.

"Loosen up!" Sophia laughed and heard a crash downstairs. "Eh?!"

Mari stopped the music and looked around. I ran towards the balcony and saw people surrounding the entrance of the department. I ran downstairs, and Mari and Sophia followed. I stopped at the entrance and saw Liliana on the ground.

"L-Liliana?!" I looked at her.

"Ehehe..." Liliana rubbed the back of her head.

"This is why you shouldn't have rushed off..!" Ace sighed in annoyance.

"Papa's door.." I looked at the glass door. "I'm fining you for this Liliana! We are going to court for this one!"

"N-No! I swear I didn't break the door on purpose! Please don't send me to court Alice! I beg of you, please show me your Divine Mercy!" Liliana crawled towards me and held my shoe.

"Ehhhh?!?! L-Let go of my shoe!" I blushed and made her let go of me. "I'm not gonna sue you! The door is an easy fix! You're so weird.."

"If only you knew.." Ace said and looked at us with a dull look.

"Aunt Alice, who's this?" Mari tilted her head.

"This is Liliana, we've been friends for around 8 years." I looked at Mari.

"Yep!" Liliana stood up quickly and bowed. "Ace Detective Liliana at your service!"

"Ace Detective, we love the confidence...we don't accept the lies." I said.

Liliana looked at me surprised then whined and held onto my shirt. I had a dull look on my face as well as she lightly shook me. Sophia decided to call a repairman to fix the glass door and window. We sat around in the main floor.

"So you're the Clumsy Detective I've been hearing about?" I held in my laughter.

"It's not funny! Most of it isn't my fault!" Liliana pouted.

"Objection..." Ace said.

"Wha- We aren't even in court.." Liliana said.

"It's a habit, but around 99.99993% of it is your fault...you tend to always end up at the wrong place at the wrong time. The most famous case she's been in was the case where she was being framed for Vandalism.." Ace crossed his arms and gripped his sleeve. "Boy you literally would not stop crying..."

"B-Because it wasn't my fault! I just stopped to look at it and then I was arrested for something I didn't do.." Liliana blushed, looking at bit embarrassed. "Why are you bullying me?!"

"Oh I heard about the case where she was being accused of petty larceny, but all her belongings were actually hers!" I said.

"That was a stupid case!" Liliana blushed more.

"I couldn't even believe it myself..." Ace said. "At this point I think it's just a meme to pick on Liliana for crimes she didn't commit or for crimes that don't even exist. Even the judge and Prosecutors find the trend hilarious."

"They are just bullying me and sending me to court because they are bored! All of my trials were confirmed to be fake!" Liliana twirled her hair out of embarrassment.

I took a sip of water then covered my mouth and looked around. It was getting impossible to contain my laughter. Mari was just rolling on the floor laughing and Sophia had tears rolling down her cheek as she tried to stop herself from laughing.

"Laugh it up, but you'll see I'll be the greatest Detective to ever be known!" Liliana crossed her arms and turned her head.

I swallowed my water and exhaled then coughed. I rubbed my eyes then looked at Liliana and held her shoulder.

"Although your cases were hilarious, I wanna help you get where you need to be. Right now you aren't getting any work is because...because.." I tried not to laugh.

Ace gave a tiny smirk as he found the situation humorous.

"Because you'd most likely get fra-" I burst out into laughter. I fell off my chair and laughed.

Liliana looked at me then crossed her arms and scoffed.

"Oh har har har, it's real funny until you get framed!" Liliana blushed more.

"L-Look.." I tried to catch my breath. "Justice and Blissful Ignorance don't mix. That's why you're failing at your job!"

"They don't mix?" Liliana asked.

"Not even close. The fact you even passed the Detective Exams is surprising to me. You're intelligent and open minded, but you're way too innocent and naive. You're gullible is what I'm trying to say." I sat back in my chair. "But that's a part of your charm."

"Agreed, couldn't have said it better." Ace nodded.

"So how do I get better?" Liliana asked.

"I don't know, everyone has their own Techniques with these types of jobs. You should find your own technique that won't get you booked in a trial." I thought.

"Maybe...but until then..." Liliana stood up. "I shall keep trying to find evildoers and bring justice into the light! Ace Detective Liliana out! Whoosh!"

Liliana ran out of the department and Ace followed reluctantly. I smiled and watched them. Mari giggled and couldn't stop laughing.

"She's so pure.." Sophia said.

"A bit too pure." I said.
