Chapter 5: Witch

Even though Lily had accepted the fact that she was now occupying a foreign body in an unfamiliar setting, she still could not adapt to the lifestyle in the ancient era. She started to question the validity of those transmigration novels she read as how the main character could adapted herself so easily.

There were a lot of things she could not get used to. Other than their way of talking and addressing themselves, Lily could not fathom why the young ladies from the noble family need servant to hold themselves while they are walking.

Xiao Ting insisted to help her dressed which was weird for Lily as she was someone who valued privacy and it was weird to have someone to see your body for the sake of helping you to dress up.

Thinking about how independent women are in the modern era, Lily felt the urgency to return back to her time.

Now, where is Luther at?

Since the great doctor told the general in front of many guests that the Third Miss needed tranquillity to recover, nobody had been trying to cause a problem for her. Lily was grateful for that because she would not know how to act or speak if people were finding trouble with her.

Until she could return to her world, Lily decided to try to learn and adapt herself with the lifestyle in this world she stuck in.

Since Luther told her than he will come and see her, Lily excused Xiao Ting with the excuse of having a headache. Xiao Ting was not to enter her bedroom unless she called for her. Xiao Ting refused at first, since the Third Miss was seriously sick but after a few reassurances from Lily, with a heavy heart, she returned to her room.

Lily did not know what to do so she opened her window so that Luther could enter the room easily but considering the fact that Luther seemed to know martial art, Lily closed the window again.

Like what happened the night before, before she could close the window, a paper fan blocked the window, preventing it from being closed.

"How are you, little witch?" Luther spoke teasingly while putting up a half smirk. Combined with the handsome face of Long Qi, the smile looked lethal even Lily could not help but stared at the red robe gentleman in front of her.

However, she quickly snapped out from the charm displayed by Luther because of the word 'Little Witch.' Did the Third Miss of the General Household, Bai He is a witch?

Lily signalled for Luther to come in and like he did yesterday, he leaped into the room, giving the illusion of flying.

"Can you enter the room normally? Do you really have to fly?" Lily then mumbled vaguely. "Show-off."

Luther sat on the only chair in the room without any invitation, leaving the owner of the room to stand up like a servant. "I can't help it. This body of the crown prince is naturally good in martial art. I can't help myself." He smiled lopsidedly. "Okay, back to business little witch. Now, get us out from here."

"Lily Melody." Lily spoke monotonously. When she saw that Luther was looking at her in a confusion, she cleared her throat and reiterated once again. "Lily Melody. My name is Lily Melody, not little witch."

It took about two minutes for Luther to understand that the little witch in front of him was telling him her name. He was not sure that if the little witch was stupid or if she trusted him well enough to tell him her name.

"Well, okay then Lily Melody the witch. Now, get us out from here." As if it was not a big deal for him, he ordered Lily to get both of them out from the world.

This time, it was Lily who looked confused.

"How though? I don't even know how I get in here." Lily pointed to herself and then towards Luther. "How can I get both of us out of here?"

Luther looked at Lily like she had spewed the most unbelievable things to him.

"Stop pretending. Do your magic and get us out of here." Luther was getting impatient.

Upon hearing the word 'magic', Lily guffawed out loud. "That got to be the best joke I ever heard in my life."

Lily laughed boisterously for some time and she only stopped laughing when she saw that Luther was not laughing at all. In fact, he looked really offended by Lily.

Lily composed herself before saying, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have magic or superpower. This Bai He is just a useless, empty wastrel without an ounce of talent in cultivating. All she has is this beautiful face."

As Lily was touching her her face, an idea came into her mind. "Are you telling me that this beautiful face can do magic? Like charming male and female to do things for her. Is that what you mean? Oh, such a precious face."

Luther grabbed Lily's hand to stop herself from touching her face but after his hand came in contact with Lily's hand, he could feel an electric pulse rushing through his skin. When he looked at the fair hand of Long Qi, there was a tiny burn mark where he touched Lily.

Damn the witch and their power.

"Stop pretending. If you are not a witch, then how come you can burn me?" Luther showed the burn mark to Lily. "Stop wasting time, we need to return to Shadow Court for the weekly assembly."

Shadow Court? That was the name of the apartment complex that Lily moved into.

"Shadow Court as in Shadow Court in City L? Hey, I just move in. Which room are you in? I'm in F013." Lily totally forgot the problem they have at the moment. She was just glad to know that Luther lived in the same building.

"I know. Now, let's go home." Luther gave up trying to reason with the witch in front of him. He will return to the modern world and tried his best not to cross path with Lily in the future.

"I'm not sure why you think I can get us both out of here but trust me, I don't have any idea how. I can't do magic and I don't even know why I'm here. You get the wrong person." Lily spoke seriously.

"A witch who can't do magic is useless." Luther did not have any emotion in his sentence.

Lily nodded. She agreed with the statement. A witch needs to be able to do some magic. Without magic, the witch is just a normal human being. "I agree with you. Maybe we can find the witch together." Lily suggested to Luther. She assumed that Luther was just joking with her about the magic and the witch.

Luther looked at her like she was the biggest fool ever. Realizing how Luther looked mockingly at her, Lily became self-conscious. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Luther's expression became worse. Then he said,

"Miss Lily Melody, you are the freaking witch."
