1 Chapter 1 - First day speech
I can't believe it, it's my first of my last year in school I've been here for four years and it still doesn't feel right that I'm leaving soon, I look around and I see all the first years giggling with excitement, I remember my first day four years ago I was so nervous that I ended up crying in front of the whole school, whatcha first day that was.
I continue walking where I bump into my best friend Luna, she was the first person I made friends with "Hey Charlie can you believe it we are in our last year of school" I giggle and we walk to the hall for the big assembly I relpy
"I can't believe it either Luna" before we could take our seats one of our class mates Adam came up with panic
"Charlie I'm so glad your here, the vice principal wants to see you he's over there" he pointed to where he was standing I nod my head and make my way over to him as I approached him he was talking to what look like a new teacher starting, he stopped me and said
"oh Spicer I'm so glad that you are here"
"you wanted to see me sir"
"yes I heard that you are head girl of the school" of yes that's right I'm head girl I forgot about that
"yes I am sir"
"wonderful now I would like to to introduce you to Mr yuta, he is head of the fourth years this year"
"please to meet you"
"the pleasure is all mine" wow I'm shaking his hand he is on handsome teacher
"as I was saying Charlie I would like you to give a speech to the school today"
"WHAT!" me give a speech to the entire school are you insane
"I understand that it is the duty of the head girl to give a speech to the new students" damn he pulled that card out on me I have no choice
"yes sir I'll do it"
"excellent, I'm looking forward to it" I wa not, went back to where Luna was her and Adam were waiting for me that's when Luna asked
"so what did the vice principal want"
"oh I have to do a speech in front of the school because I'm head girl and it's part of my responsibility to make it known that the first years can come me with anything"
"do you know what you are going to say" Adam looked at me concerned so I put my hand on his shoulder and said
"dont you know me at all Adam, I made a speech over the summer because I knew something like this was going to happen, I didnt actually think that it was going to happen though" we laugh and get settled ready for the assembly to begin.
"welcome back to yet another term at Clear water high school, and welcome to all you first years I hope all of you make great memories here, this year is a big year for our fourth years, its time they started to think about your future this year we have a knew teacher starting him name is Mr Yuta" Mr Yuta came up to the microphone and said
"good morning everyone, I'm the head of the fourth years so I don't really see any of you until you get to your final year here, I'll be teaching maths for you fourth years so I hope you can all progress towards your dreams" wow he is really enthusiastic about us achieving our dreams, we all clap as he ended his speech
"thank you Mr Yuta, I would like to have our head girl give a speech to all of you so that you know who she is" well my time to make a fool of myself I make my way up to the microphone and start
"good morning, my name is Charlotte Spicer but you cam call me Charlie, first off I would like to congratulate you all on getting in to the second top high school in the country, I know what some of you are feel right now you are scared and nervous, I was just like you one my first day I ended up crying in front of the whole school, but anyway I'm here if you have any issues with anything at all, we also have set up a club for people who are finding it hard to adapt to high school life, good luck with the first semester, my fellow fourth years this is a very important time for us after this year we all go off to college, last year I was told that the previous years scored in the top ten on exams so let's see if we can do it this year as well, thank you for taking the time in listening to me this morning" as I finished the hall was erupted with applause from everyone including the teacher were impressed with me as I walk out of the hall I hear some of the first years saying
"isnt Charlie the one who alway gets top scores in every test"
"yeah I think your right"
"no wonder she is head girl of the school"
"I bet she doesn't have fo study for anything" that where your wrong I have to study otherwise I'll fail and my grades are still back especially maths I hate the subject but I cant understand why I pass it every year with a scrape well this year it has to count I have to get a solid pass in that subject.
