But, fate has other plans - like a one-night stand with a stranger who turns out to be her new boss (talk about a morning-after surprise!). As Laura navigates this awkward situation, she must confront her past heartache and figure out how to work with her accidental bedmate (who's now her boss... yeah, it's complicated!). Luckily, she has a squad of supportive and lively friends who'll offer advice, comedic relief, and possibly even some matchmaking attempts (because, why not?). Will Laura be able to separate her professional and personal life, or will her accidental heart lead her down a path of love, laughter, and redemption? One thing's for sure - it will be a wild ride

Encounter with mr stranger

"Yes, I said to her, I'm going to be earning cool cash, and you, my friend, are going to benefit big from it," I said, my tone laced with sarcasm. She looked at me and shook her head, and I returned the look, and we both burst into laughter.

"What were you expecting?" I asked her. "Your bakery and cafe is one of the most sought-after; it's always packed and busy. You really don't need my money; I'll keep it to myself," I told her, chuckling.

Layla laughed and I shook my head. "Umm, don't you think we need to go out and celebrate your job offer?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Please say yes, don't be a party pooper, please," she batted her lashes and pouted. "How old do you think you are, 4 years?" I asked Layla, and she chuckled.

"You know I don't like going out," I told her, "but I will, just to make you happy." She rolled her eyes, and I laughed. "Speaking of celebration," I said, "Layla, tomorrow is your 23rd birthday, and thankfully, it's not on a weekday, so yes, we are going to party!" Layla jumped up like a kid, and I rolled my eyes. "We didn't get to go out on your last birthday; the bakery was busy as a bee, and the cafe too, but since your birthday is on a Sunday tomorrow, we can have the fun."

"And yes, I'm going to give away my innocence and pop that cherry," I told her, chuckling. Layla looked at me with wide eyes, "Girl, are you crazy?" she said. I looked up at her, trying to read her emotions; maybe she felt somehow about it, but instead, I saw my bestie looking at me with twinkly eyes. "What is it?" I asked her.

"Umm, we can't go to the club looking like some nuns," she said, chuckling. "We need to go shopping." I quickly told her, "No shopping with Layla is not easy; she can never decide on what to take or what not to; we'll end up spending hours in the mall." But since tomorrow was her birthday, and she had been supportive, I agreed, taking a mental note to get her a present from the mall

"Layla told me to take a bath, saying I smelled awful. I glared at her, but she just rolled her eyes and kept working on her laptop. I gave in, heading to the bathroom to freshen up, scrubbing myself clean and brushing my teeth. I picked out a comfy outfit - a baggy shirt and distressed denim pants - and quickly did my skincare routine. I tied my hair into a messy bun and added a bit of mascara and gloss.

I came out feeling refreshed, and Layla asked if I was ready to go. I nodded, and we left my apartment, heading to the parking lot where her Mercedes was waiting. We drove to the mall, jamming out to Anne Marie's "2002" along the way.

When we arrived, Layla announced our destination: the Dior store. I raised an eyebrow, but she grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. "Are you crazy?" I asked, and she just grinned. "You're treating me, girl!" I said, and she playfully ignored me.

We entered the store, and a friendly receptionist greeted us. We browsed the racks, and a helpful sales associate showed us some great clothes. Layla's eyes lit up as she saw the dresses, and I chuckled at her excitement. "Good afternoon, ladies," a friendly guy greeted us, asking if we needed help. Layla eagerly replied, and I smiled, knowing she had a clear idea in mind.

We headed to the dressing room, where Layla tried on a few outfits. I waited for her to come out, eager to give my opinion. She finally emerged, looking stunning in a sleek black gown that showed off her curves and style. I complimented her, and we continued shopping, picking out a few pieces we liked.

Now it was my turn to try on some clothes, and I turned to ask Layla help

"We packed up Layla's clothes, and it was my turn to try some on. I tapped Layla, asking for her help in selecting an outfit. She was completely absorbed, practically drooling, as she gazed at something. I followed her gaze and was taken aback - two incredibly attractive men stood side by side, capturing our attention. One had dirty blonde hair that cascaded effortlessly, contrasting with his piercing blue eyes. He exuded confidence and strength, standing tall with broad shoulders. The other had sleek black hair that perfectly framed his chiseled jawline, complemented by a commanding presence. Together, they made a striking pair!

I tapped Layla a bit harder, and she jolted back to reality. I reminded her that I still had clothes to try on, and she nodded, still sneaking glances at the handsome duo. We headed to the changing room, and I quickly tried on the outfit she had picked for me. I called out to Layla to ask if I could come out for her opinion, but she didn't respond. I called again, and still, no answer. So, I emerged from the changing room with the dress still on, and the sight before me was breathtaking. I was taken aback, unaware of my surroundings for a moment. It was the same man with dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, exuding confidence and strength. He was a sight to behold!

I was quickly snapped out of my trance when a thick, velvety voice asked, "Are you done drooling?" I looked up, cursed under my breath, and asked aloud, "What the hell are you doing in a women's changing room?" He studied me carefully, and I quickly adjusted my dress, feeling a bit exposed. I hastily retreated back to the safety of the changing room, my heart racing."

"What just happened?" I asked myself, wondering why my body was reacting to his voice. I quickly snapped out of it and pulled out my phone, dialing Layla's number. "Where the fuck are you?" I asked, raging. "Chill, chill, don't be a buzzkill," she replied, and I couldn't take my eyes off the two guys. I sensed that the one with black hair was Christopher Andrew, the famous model. "Get to the fucking point," I said, and she revealed that she had sent the other guy to me. "You did what?" I yelled, frustrated. "You couldn't assess my dress by yourself, so you had to send a random hot stranger?" I cursed, obviously exasperated.

Layla apologized and hung up, leaving me fuming. I quickly changed into my normal outfit, not bothering to try on the rest of the clothes. I knew they would fit perfectly anyway. I looked in the mirror, hoping the crazy stranger wouldn't be there when I came out. I quietly opened the door, and there he was, gazing up at me with a smirk. "Hey, princess," he said, and I glared at him. He didn't react, inching closer towards me. "I didn't take you to be the feisty one, Miss Laura," he said, and my heart skipped a beat.

I snapped out of my trance, wondering how he knew my name. "Your best friend sold you out," he said with a smirk, and I cursed Layla more in my head. "Can you please step away a little?" I stammered, and he asked if he was affecting me. I wished he were my crazy, but I told him to leave me the hell alone. He smirked and said, "See you soon, Miss Laura," and with that, he left. My heart was racing wildly, and my panties were soaked. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I asked my self .

"Girl, what were you thinking?!" I asked Layla immediately I got to the reception I looked around and noticed the two hot men were gone , my voice laced with mock anger. "Sending a hot stranger to assess my dress? That's just not right!"

Layla giggled, knowing she had gone a bit too far. "I just wanted to spice things up, Laura! Don't be mad!"

I rolled my eyes, trying to maintain my playful scowl. "Spice things up? You almost gave me a heart attack! And what's with the 'princess' thing? Did you put him up to that?"

Layla burst out laughing. "Maybe just a little! But come on, Laura, you have to admit, it was kind of fun."

I couldn't help but laugh too. "Okay, fine. It was a little fun. But next time, warn me, okay?" I said and I glared at layla who rolled her eyes at me

"Layla, I need to get out of here before I kill you," I said, laughing. "You pay for the stuff, I'll meet you at the parking lot ."

Layla nodded, still grinning. "Okay, deal! And don't forget, it's my birthday soon!"

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Like I could forget. I'll meet you at the car, and then we can head home."

I headed out of the store, making my way to the Pandora store nearby. I had seen the perfect birthday gift for Layla - a beautiful bestie infinity-shaped necklace. I picked it up, and the store attendant quickly boxed it for me. I wrote a cute happy birthday note for Layla and headed to the parking lot to meet her.

When I arrived, Layla was already there, waiting in the car. "Hey, girl! Sorry again for sending the hot stranger your way," she said, giggling.

I chuckled. "It's okay, I forgive you. But next time, warn me, okay?"

Layla grinned. "Deal! Now let's go home and celebrate my upcoming birthday in style!"

We drove off, ready to continue our day, armed with shopping bags and a fun story to tell.
