"We should get out of here" Olivia whispered in my ears when we heard the sound of the main door opening. We tried to get out of the basement but the footsteps were gradually closing up to us more and more, with each and every footstep growing closer to us made our heart beat faster and faster.

"Hurry, behind this cupboard" Eddy called us from down the basement with a dimmed voice.

We quickly followed him down there behind the cupboard. We heard the footsteps growing louder and louder as we saw the mysterious man in a long jacket with a cap on his head. He was a tall person but were not able to see his face because of the darkness in the room. Me and my friends were staring at him from behind the cupboard and were waiting for him to leave so that we can sneak out of the house. After observing the basement the mysterious man turned around to leave when Eddy hit an empty tin bucket with his leg, which resulted in making the mysterious man suspicious that someone was there in the basement. He started to search each and every corner of the basement and finally headed towards the cupboard behind which we were hiding. We could hear the footsteps of the mysterious man growing louder and louder with every step he was taking.
