1 Chapter 1

A dark void, empty with nothing in sight except for the dim radiance of an orb. Golden in colour that seems to emit off feelings of desolation, loneliness and deep regret.

If one were to strain their ears, you could hear the faint noise of something akin to a rattling chain as once in a while snapping noises could be heard.

*Tremble*

*ROAR*

A sudden change appears in the once monotonous void as you could hear the cry of a monstrous beast echoing throughout as the golden ball brightens in lustre, disappearing in a tear that opens up sucking it into an orange lustrous landscape.

A city lit in a blazing flame, littered with the rubble of the many buildings that once stood as a light shower of rain fell, failing to quench the hungry flames as it served to settle in a somber mood. Fear, pain, agony and death is not uncommon at this moment, though it seems to be untouched by a child, hair with the colour of gold that reaches till his lower back and slitted ruby eyes that are not anycase inferior to the most precious of ruby gemstones but if not seem to draw in those surrounding, making them lost in their seemingly deep depths that is uncharacteristic of a child.

The child can be seen looking up as faint tears could be seen dripping from his face, though he's not expressing one of depression or sadness but one of extreme joy as he seems to be filled with ecstasy as if it was his first drink after months in a desert.

As if it was an illusion the child's face turned emotionless, looking around he takes in the damaged state of the ruined city as he walks off in a direction, catching the scent of another human that came through. Stopping by a mound of rubble the boy contemplates for a bit when he decides to dig through as an arm comes into sight. Knowing they're alive he continues on when a young girl around his age is uncovered.

The girl has black short hair and greyish almost blackish eyes as she gazes right into his. The boy gives off a smile, though it seems to unsettle the girl a little as his eyes forever seem to remain emotionless.

*Crunch*

Turning around the boy can see a man walking forward, he had black hair and black listless eyes as they seem to hold a great amount of guilt. The boy's nose scrunches a little as he can pick up the deep scent of blood on the man, knowing that the man had taken a lot of lives with those two hands of his, the boy instinctively took the little girl into a protective embrace.

The man noticing the two seems to have catch a moment of relief as he starts rushing over, all though seemingly not catching the man's relief in their survival, they boy leaks out an immense amount of bloodlust as a scene of a black dragon trampling and consuming upon the corpses of many others of his kind and humans was projected out, halting the man in his place. Though the boy withdrew it as he noticed that the man holds only concern and is not a threat currently despite the thick scent of blood emanating from him.

The man, noticing the presence of danger emitting from the boy dispercing, knew that the boy was relaxed now in his presence and that it was safe for him to approach. Coming closer he notices the girl in the boy's embrace and came to the conclusion that the boy was most likely defending her, which is not strange in such chaotic circumstances though it still sends shivers down his spine that such a young boy could emit such deep killing intent and to be able to make him see an illusionary scene on top of it.

Clearing his thoughts he looked closer to the girl, a frown marred its way on his face as he could see that she was about to die from the injuries she had been inflicted. The man pulled out a radiant sheath that emitted a warm calming aura to the surroundings and he with no hesitation proceeded to place it within the girl.

"You sure about doing that? Such a thing is a priceless treasure and you'd give it up for this girl?"

The boy's voice rang through the air as although it's in a childish tone held a great melodic and charming element to it that just made people lost in the sound of it, as though he could sway you with the right words. The man looked at the boy as he without having to think replied

?This is nothing, compared to what I've done. If this can be used to save this one life then I can be at ease to know that my mistake hasn't cost everything and that a life still perseveres through it all. In fact all I can say is thank you, thank you for not dying as I couldn't imagine what I would do if everyone here died because of me."

The boy was silent, no other reply was needed after all it was the man's choice to use his things however he wanted. Holding the girl tighter in his embrace the boy looked up to the sky for a moment, then looking back at the man deciding to follow him as he seems to be a part of the hidden or not so hidden powers of this world, he can only find out later on.

You could see the boy lying in a white room, in which is accompanied by many other children afflicted by the disaster, though not needing actual medical assistance was still held in just in case his condition is not what can be seen by the naked eye. The boy would hover around the young girl that throughout the few days within the hospital was still wrapped within her bandages, not once did he see that scruffy old man but it mattered not to him for he knew that he would show himself up soon so all he could do is wait.

And he was right once the young girl was taken off her bandages the man came back and he seemed to be oddly a bit happy for some reason. Approaching the bedside in front of us the man looked at us and said.

"Hello you must be Sugaha-chan and you are..."

"I…. have no name"

A frown made its way onto the man's face hearing the boy mention about his lack of name though quickly enough a small smile crept up as, he continued on

Man: Anyways I would like to ask both of you if you'd like to either go to an orphanage? Or be adopted by this stranger you've never met or got to know before?

The girl now known as Suguha and the nameless boy remained quiet, although Suguha is looking intensely at the boy and you can tell that she'd follow whatever the boy decided, it is unknown though what gave her such trust to follow through with the boy's decisions in which she never met before in her life, but she felt it right. The boy could feel this and couldn't help but release a sigh at Suguha's seemingly out of the blue dependency for the boy.

"We'll go with you, even if you do look like an unreliable man it's probably better than being raised in an orphanage"

The man at this point had a warm smile lifting on his face as he looked upon the both of them, he remained silent for a minute as if contemplating on something.

"Ryuto…. Is Ryuto alright for you? I chose it based on the first impression I had got of you"

Hearing the man the boy nodded, accepting his new name Ryuto as he agreed that such a name is incredibly fitting for him especially for what he was in one of his lives. Seeing Ryuto's confirmation the man started packing their stuff that was provided albeit poorly even in the perspective of a child. So after making a big mess….

Man: Oh I forgot to mention something important. I have to tell you one thing before you come with me."

Turning towards them both of them he added.

"To start off with, I am a sorcerer."

The man said it with a serious and exaggerated tone, you could see Suguha with stars lighting up in her eyes at the mention of him being a sorcerer, most likely due to her child like innocence believing anything, even despite the fact the man is telling the truth he would be looked at as crazy within today's society where such things are thought as fantasy and belief in them, sets you up to be a lunatic. Well of course Ryuto knew already so it was no surprise or shock for him for the man to declare himself as a sorcerer.

And so on that day Ryuto and Suguha became the son and daughter of the man, in which his name was revealed to be Kiritsugu Emiya and they from that day forth became a part of the Emiya household.

Author notes: Yep well if you had guessed now since from the end this is a fate thing though this is going to be a multiverse thing it's just that fate is going to have a lot of chapters written on it. And if you haven't noticed from the lack of shirou yes shirou has been booted out of the universe so unfortunately no Archer EMIYA will make an appearance ever OOF. If some of you have some insight the Suguha mentioned here is the Suguha in SAO had to put a good replacement for Shirou (because mc doesn't need avalon and better to have a waifu then a powerup is the saying right?) and decided a nii-chan loving kendo practitioner is a great choice or more like just the first thing that popped in my mind because for some reason Suguha came first but definitely not a bad choice at least I hope it isn't not going to change anyways.
