strange completion

I wake up in a sweat on the ground seeing caverns and the lake of acid nearby as I'm alone, and the acid container full as it is almost dark

"Did I? blackout?"

I was thinking the spiders were a dream until I see the two corpses nearby when I get back up seeing the two corpses of the ones who got touched by the acid, well what's left of those two, as I pick up the full acid container in confusion from this weird event

"no, let's get back, especially being almost dark"

as I take my container and rush back to the moving city strangely avoiding all the caverns on the way easily, and even at nearly dark, while strange, I don't pay attention to it as I make it to the location of the big elevator

which opens a compartment where I put my container into it, as it closes and I wait for the elevator to open

though what I got instead is one of the guards

flying down looking at me, the guard shadow as it looks down at me and tries grabbing me which I narrowly avoid only to be immediately punched, even when I tried to block I was still put into the ground, as it grabs me and flies up into the thing talking in its whispering voice

"Last I checked the dead shouldn't revive yet"

"wh-at?"

it didn't answer as it made it inside the moving city and toward the wolf's building and no matter how I tried to get off, it just held tighter coming in through the door to the wolf, waiting in the building as they speak

"looks like your alive"

they say sounding a bit disappointed as shadow lets go of me as I worry about what they will do, even somewhat trying to hide my curiosity about what happened outside but not as well as I hoped, as the wolf continues

" you got 10 points, you can spend them here any time"

as the wolf goes to the back of the building doing some paperwork with a glance at me, as shadow flies away leaving me alone

"the hell?"

as I start to walk away from the building but notice something on my back as I then take it off seeing a small bag that I didn't have on before, but being right by the building I put it back on and rush to Jerry's place to talk about it

it's like any other of the box homes but with a small bunch of wood boards with text like "they lie to us"," they want our blood!" etc as I smile looking at them, and knock at the door

as I see Jerry again who looks very surprised at the fact I'm still alive before coming out and hugging me

"I thought you died!"

they say with a worried look

"how long was I out?"

I say getting a little bit of a worried thought though Jerry proved my fears were unfounded

"Sorry, you were just gone somehow for most of the day, so they thought you were a causality, and especially so, since Cody, the last to see you, said how you were chased by one of the big spiders!"

"right, that did happen, wait let me show you something"

"no, not now"

Jerry says looking left and right

"Inside"

"Right"

as we go inside the house, it has the same appliances, however, it has carvings on its walls of Jerry's not all around and tiny so Jerry can fit them with still plenty of room

"Now what is it?"

I nod as I pull out the backpack and what I expected came out of it, the black mask with a cracked open white smile, and wide white eyes with eyeholes, as Jerry looks at it curiously

"that's a strange mask, you got it from the outside right?"

"yeah, any idea what it is?"

"I mean it looks like a mask of the destroyer's face"

"the destroyer"

as I look at the mask again and get a bad feeling

"so someone made a mask, of that thing?"

"maybe so"

as I put it down no longer wanting to look at it, as I stare back at jerry

"but the place I found it was much more, interesting, because while I was running I fell into one of the caverns, and while I was avoiding it, I was suddenly there"

"Where?"

"it was called crystal paradise"

as Jerry begins to go through his wall notes to find something on it As they stop at one

"crystal paradise right?"

"Yeah"

"the place was said to be made after the first grand war six hundred years ago, but its purpose was, unknown"

"That long ago huh? But, some buildings don't look that worn and one looks basically new"

"then what you found was a ghost town, other than that, there is nothing else on it"

I shiver a bit at the thought then look at the mask again

"I'm gonna go, so Jerry, can you hold that mask, thing for me?"

"I would love to, and it gives me more time to inspect it"

"Thanks, see ya"

"you too"

Giving one last look at the smiling mask, I shudder and leave the house to go find Cook for that whole thing this morning, as I would like some answers as I make it to the food giveaway area

the place is pretty empty as the food giveaway is only in the mornings and I feel a bit of hunger, so seeing no one there I decide to go back toward my place seeing Cody on the way buying a treat from brownie at her stand, as the both of them Notice me, Cody looking a bit surprised which for him is a lot

"Hey, you two"

both just stared at me for a moment as Cody is first to react

"huh, seems you actually managed to survive that ordeal"

"heh, yeah, but, I'll see you tomorrow at the building "

at that point is when brownie starts

"Are you really gonna another 'quest!?' didn't this one almost kill you?"

"the reason is a secret"

as Cody looks at me with suspicion causing me to begin walking away to continue back home in a Slight rush to try and avoid Cody getting a clue but quickly stopped by brownie

"What, reason?"

"a secret one "

" you know what she means jake"

I grumble a bit knowing now I can't win in this

"I just found a special place, is all in one of the caverns though I don't remember which"

"how big is it?

"Were there more dangers there?"

"i-mean It for a whole town in not even a path further up"

as Cody looks like their suspicion was confirmed

"However spider caverns aren't that big unless at the very least it was a nest, if you saw no spiders it doesn't make sense, especially with the number of caverns we already saw on the surface"

" hey, I swear I was there, I even took something out of it, it's with Jerry as we speak"

Cody pauses a moment leaving brownie again

"but were there any dangers there?"

" I, don't think so"

"then why where you gone so long"

"Because I passed, out"

with that though I start heading back to my home now thinking of that smiling mask

"I am gonna ask Jerry if they find anything weird with it"

as the night begins

as I read the report on this Jake's 'revival' I make a slight growl

"Shadow"

as they nod over at me looking distracted for a moment I calm down again speaking with a little worry now

"shadow?"

as they look back over to me looking annoyed their wings flapping a bit to calm themselves down as they speak to me

"what is it?"

" right, I'm not the only one that noticed that bag on their back right?"

" right, and strangely they seemed to have a strange amount of skill suddenly "

I think a bit among that though, that skill since we don't know much about that kid can easily either be talent or, experience, I sigh shaking a thought from my head

"I'll ask Slimer to get me some info about the kid, either way, whenever that kid goes out again, take a look at them"

"What makes you say they will?"

I couldn't help but chuckle, it was obvious why they would return

"They looked very curious about something didn't you notice?"

shadow thought for a moment

" I just noticed the bag they got on"

"Certainly, they found something there, that's for certain, that's why I need you to keep a watch"

shadow grumbles

"Why can't you?"

"a Wolfman is much more obvious than a literal shadow even though you don't use that capability often"

shadow looked annoyed but they still nodded as they took a seat at one of the tables, as I continue on with my paperwork.
