Chapter 16

Queen Crystalia was flying through the forest. She was in search of Monarch Flamory. It was time to end this. She came across a clearing. All was suspiciously quiet as she walked to the centre. All of a sudden, a loud cackle sounded and Queen Crystalia was immediately knocked over by a giant, flying cake. The last she saw was Flamory patting Chubs on the back.

The queen opened her eyes. She was tied to a large jacaranda tree. Monarch Flamory was cackling. A spell came flying towards her. She fell to the ground and stood up. With much pain, she flapped her wings, but they were broken. There was a small pile of ash beside her, Blaze. Flamory cackled again. "Nothing you can do now, Crystalia! Sparklimmar will be mine!" However, the queen had other plans, she got her bow and an arrow from her quiver and shot, hitting Chubs square in the chest. The giant cupcake he was holding fell to the ground as he disintegrated. Flamory screeched. She shot another spell at Crystalia, but she dodged out of the way. It was a war between deadly spells and arrows. A spell came flying at her, missing by inches. She shot another arrow as Flamory shot a killing curse. They flew right past each other. Queen Crystalia was about to move but it was too late. The curse hit her stomach as the arrow hit Flamory in the chest. "NOOOOOOOOO!" the flamy screamed. Then she disintegrated, leaving ashes to drift to the ground. A bright ball of light flew out from the ashes, going a few meters into the air before exploding, sending a wave of white light across the kingdom, annihilating every single flamy. The force shield around the village shattered at the last hit of flamies before they disappeared. The guards looked around, shocked, but started cheering. The Grade Fives and Tyla stared at the fragments of the shield falling, happy that the war was over. "Wait," said Tisah, "where's the queen?"

"She went into the forest.' explained Josy, "Flamory was in there." "What? Wait, knowing her, she would have been back by know, that forest is small." Tyla gasped. "She could be hurt! Show me where she went, Josy!" Josy galloped off, followed by Tyla. They ran off into the forest. Tyla followed Josy in the direction Blaze was murdered.

Queen Crystalia smiled, but a stinging pain told her to look down. The deep, red blood stained her lilac dress. Tears poured from her eyes and she felt the salt enter the wound, making her scream. It was over. She pulled out her wand, waved it at the blood, but it did not work. She then saw a large leaf, the size of an A4 paper, attached to a plant. The queen thought about what to write and waved her wand. Suddenly words appeared on the leaf. "Tyla!' was the last word she called, before she felt the pain spread throughout her body, and her heart stop and life leave her."

Seconds later, Josy ran out the trees into the clearing. She saw the queen, gasped, and stood there, not knowing what to do. Tyla came up behind her, screamed, and ran to her grandmother's body, eyes flooding with tears. She fell over the queen and spread across her, crying heavily as Queen Crystalia lay, white eyes open, bloodstained purple gown. Josy trotted up behind her slowly. Picking Tyla up, she said – "Let's go back." The centaur heaved the queen on to her back and headed back into the forest. Tyla followed, but before she could leave the clearing, her bloodshot eyes wandered over to the leaf with writing on it. She retrieved it off the ground, and started to read:

Tyla, if you are reading this, I have passed. I know you are sad, I will miss you to, but on my oath, I will watch over you and keep you safe. Before I go, the kingdom will need someone to watch over, so I am hereby crowning you, Tyla Weatherbury, Princess of Sparklimmar World.

I love you with all my heart and I wish you luck on your adventures as the new leader. Goodbye Tyla, I love you.

Tyla smiled, she held the leaf close to her heart and walked on. Josy was waiting for her, concerned; although Tyla's smile told her, it was okay. They carried on through the forest, and came to the end, met by all the Grade Fives, civilians and guards. Everyone caught sight of the queen and gasped. Some screamed. They were all shocked to see her dead body.

"Take her to the library," Tyla told Josy, "it was her favourite place."
