Four

Its Monday afternoon and am having Economics lesson. "Okay class, today we are having a month test", Miss Miller said. I was prepared for the test but unfortunately the horror movie fell upon. We wrote the test and the lesson was over. I was free afterwards. Instead l went to the library and guess who l found there. Its Hayle and Justin!  I pick a book and cover up my face for them not to see me. Unfortunately they saw me first. "Hey Kerley. Over here", Hayle shouted.  I place the book back to its shelf because it was the wrong side. I took a seat beside them and wait for them to speak.

"So how are you guys doing", l break the silence. We are doing good and are you not supposed to be in a lesson? Justin said. "Not really am free till home time.  That's why am here", I answered back. Dating seems to be so sweet. Hayle and Justin deserve each other. "So Kerley how are you now if you don't mind?"  Hayle asked.   "Yeah am fine l guess", I said. I just didnt want to think about it. 

After school l used to go with Hayle but now its different. Justin picked her up and l went with Ethan sometimes.

Most of the times Ethan will be left for practice so am back to the old me. I  went home alone today because Ethan was at the practice. Being a sharpshooter is what he want. I don't want to disturb him or to destroy his goals.

NB: this part is dedicated for the remembrance of my big sis. PLEASE TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LOVED ONES CAN SKIP THIS PART.

I found mom waiting for me. She is making some inspection on my pain. "I have already let that go mom. Don't keep on monitoring my behavior or mood", l said. I hate putting pressure on her. Dad  and  Merlin  died in a car accident and am sure that's why she don't want to loose me. Either do l. "Kerley you are all l have and l can't mistreat you. I don't want to loose you. You are my hope now. Your sis left you , she is no more",  she muttered.  I understand. Merlin hurts me. I needed her more but she left me alone with mom. Same as dad. I never saw that coming. I was looking towards a miracle while she was in the hospital.

"Mom please stop that. I didn't mean to reminds you of the past. Am sorry. I will not repeat that again" , l begged. I knew she will understand me. I went to my room and wash my face in the bathroom.  Tomorrow l have a BS test. I studied and later fell asleep.  I woke up at 01:12am and put on my nightwear. I put the covers on and went to sleep.

Thursday

"Its okay Miss Marcus. Today we are not having the B.S test. I will just make it one final exam" Mr Barker explained.  We did the lesson and after that I received a message.

  Ethan -   hey love. Can we meet at lunch? - 12:56pm

I was shocked. He never asked me to meet at lunch. He just come uninvited. I just replied 'okay'. 

At lunch

We were sitting under a coconut tree. Ethan had ordered some  food for lunch. "Here, take some", he offered.  The food smells so good and l can't wait to take a look. "Thank you Ethan for the food. I hope it contain some vitamins", l reminded him. "Ooh I forget that. Do you mind if l ordered some more?" He asked. He is too protective like mom. "Hell no! Don't waste your money on satisfying my health. Its okay. I appreciate that", I said truthfully. I even hate these vitamin thing. Mom always make sure she adds something in the meal.  'Okay my lady. Then let's eat", he said. "Ummm, Ethan please don't call me that. Am sure Justin is the one who can call Hayle that way not you", I remind him.  "Why my love? Is it a bad thing? Am sure you deserve to be treated as a queen. And am here for you".  Damn , how did God created this boy? He is repeating what am telling him to stop. " Ethan! Stop it. How many times should l make myself clear. Don't call me your love. Okay!" I exclaimed. Ethan always ruin my lunch. I don't know  why. Does he do that for fun or ?   "Hey, hey, calm down. Don't shout like that. I get it but l will not give up on making you mine. I understand you are a hard shell to crack but l will put more effort for you to crack immediately" he said. 

Deep inside am still trying to figure out why he asked me to meet him at lunch. "Hey Ethan". "Umm". "Can l ask?" "Yeah go on". "Why did you ask me to meet you here?" I finished off my mango  juice and he clears up his throat.

"Umm Kerley I ask you because l wanted to tell you something. I don't know what will be your response but l hope I will win this", he said placing my hair behind the ear.
