Ch. 1 A step to greatness

I lived in a small village and I am a doctor. I heal and fix people up people. People like me are common. You know like doctors, healers, herbalist. But there's is also some powerful people who had magic. Unlike me I was a powerless being. The slayer's are a powerful group of people. Once a slayer dies a new one is born. There is only 15 in the whole world at least thats what is known. Unfortunately slayer's are only girls. Very funny huh and strange to aren't boys stronger then girls. Not trying to be sexist or anything. If it were possible I would of took the opportunity to be a slayer unfortunately it can't be helped. I'm about to tell you- "Dylan there's three heavy wounded villagers," a guy shouted barging in and out of breath. I sighed closing my book and quickly followed the man out where the wounded was. Two boys and a young girl. I look at there wounds carefully. It was really deep cuts its good that it wasn't something too bad, but it seems like a demon did these. The cuts looked like claws. I put some white powder on the wounds. They all yelped in the stinging pain. This white powder keeps the wound clean. Especially if a demon when though there skin it also helps the wound heal faster. After a couple of minutes I wrapped the wounds in a white bandage covering up the wounds. But where did this demon come from? They will be fine, but who did this?, I asked questionably. "There was a demon in the woods it attacked them," a girl said in a panic. The woods?, I said heading toward it. "Wait no Dylan you could be killed?!" a guy yelled trying to stopping me. I'll be fine but this demon can't be staying around the village, I said walking forward. I when into the forest hearing there cries and shouting. They tried to stop me as I enter the wood, but they didn't dare stepped in the woods. I walked forward not stopping my paste. Until I couldn't hear there shouting anymore. It was just the cold wind and the crunching leafs on the ground as I walked. It was complete silent. I looked everywhere and I couldn't find anything. Up, down, left, right nowhere to be found. I sighed going under a big oak tree. It was sure was frustrating when you can't find something. I lay back on the tree as the wind blew swiftly. I then hear a loud thunder. I covered my ears at the loud sound. I looked up at the sky quickly, but there weren't any dark clouds it was just a clear sky. I was about to get up but a hot burning pain struck my body making me burn up in pain. I never felt pain like this. It felt like my body's insides were burning up. I felt was paralyzed unable to move. I saw a demon stepping in front of me slowly. My vision slowly fadded trying to fight the burning pain. But then a girl with spear jumped in front of me. I closed my eyes slowly unable to stay awake everything gone black slowly seeing the girl fadding away. Everything was black and all I could hear was the sound of thunder. I woke up stunned seeing myself in my house and some villagers surrounding me. Everyone had a worried and concerned face. What happened?, I asked confused. "A Slayer saved you she's out on the roof," one of the vilager's said. I looked at myself seeing I was covered in bandage's. How long was I out?, I questioned. "Hmmm I think about an hour or two," a boy answered. I quickly put a shirt on walking out. Thank you for staying with me, I said kindly to the villagers inside before walking out. I walked out the door filled with questions. What is a Slayer doing here? I stepped outside.
