Spacerwalker

Shadow's POV

It's dark, the mist in the air brings a creepiness about. A Grounder on a horse travels in front of us as one travels behind. Clarke and I don't speak, my mind too wrapped up in what the Commander had wanted. We got to our camp "Hold your fire! They're back!" I hear Bellamy's voice "Open the gate" another ordered. The gate opened and Clarke and I stepped into the camp. Finn rushed over to us and my heart dropped again. "You okay?" He whispered. I whipped around. "Shut the gate!" I ordered. "You can't be out here" Clarke whispered to Finn as the gate began to shut. We then walked with him over to Abby. She wrapped us both into her arms. "What did she say?" Abby asked us. Everyone begins to gather around as my eyes fill with tears. "Is there a chance for a truce?" Abby asked us. "Yes..." Clarke answered. "Absolutely not!" I hissed at Clarke. "What's wrong?" Finn asked the both of us. Bellamy walked over to my side. "They want you..." Clarke choked out. "If we want a truce we have to give them Finn" I explained. "What the hell are you talking about?" Abby asked us. "That's their offer" I sniffled. "That's not an offer" Raven stated. "It's punishment," Finn says. "For what happened at the village...Blood for Blood" He added. "That's insane" Bellamy shakes his head. "If we refuse?" Abby questioned. "They attack" I whispered, lowering my head. "I say we give him up!" Someone shouted. "Get rid of him!" Another one shouts. "Easy people!" Byrne tries holding some back as the crowd begins to get angry. "Give him the Grounders" a man approached. Raven went after the guy, shoving him back. "Back off!" She hissed. I grabbed a hold of Raven as Bellamy grabbed the guy and pulled them apart. "Raven! Raven! Listen to me!" Clarke says as she helped me hold her back. "Nothing is gonna happen to him...I promise okay?" Clarke says. "I'm not dying for him! Spacewalks burned three months of oxygen from the Ark. He should've floated a long time ago!" A man shouted. Raven suddenly jumped at the man, punching him in the face. "Raven stop!" I screamed. Suddenly when Byrne tried grabbing her she punched her in the face. The guards quickly arrested Raven and took her away. This is getting way too out of hand.

Clarke, Bellamy, and I walked up to Finn and Murphy. "Hey. We're reinforcing all our defenses. Double on the perimeter" Bellamy explained. "So nobody's getting past that wire" I smiled at Finn. Finn shot up "I'll see where they're thin" he suggested. "No! I mean...you should head inside" I cleared my throat. "Besides B corridor will be easier to defend, if it comes to that" Bellamy explained. "I'm not gonna hide" Finn informed us. "Right now we have to think about keeping you safe" Clarke explained. "We're gonna talk to Lincoln" I informed Finn. "Hey, orders for me your majesty's?" Murphy asked in a mocking tone as Bellamy and Finn begin walking away. "Yeah, stay away from me" I hissed at him. I turned and begin walking with Clarke. "Just trying to be helpful," he says. Clarke turned this time, glaring at Murphy. "You were with him at the village" she stated. "I tried to stop him" Murphy reminded her. "Not hard enough...Let's go Clarke" I grabbed her arm and turned her with me as we walked away. "You wanna start blaming people? We were out there looking for you two" Murphy stated as we kept walking. We entered the medical room and I see Lincoln coughing, strapping to a bed. "He's not a Reaper anymore. He doesn't need to be restrained" I tell Abby. "Yes, I do...." Lincoln breathed heavily. I felt a tiny bit of guilt fill up in my chest. "Just tell us is there a way to make peace?" Abby asked him. "Did she leave riders behind?" Lincoln asked. "Two, just outside the gate" I answered. "They're waiting for Finn, you don't have much time to decide" Lincoln informed us. "She can't expect us to just hand over one of our own people, I know in hell she's never done it" I hissed. "She wouldn't let the rest of her people die to protect a murderer" Lincoln almost hissed back. "If you don't do this, she will kill everyone in this camp," he tells us. "There has to be something else that we can offer" I stated. "Finn took eighteen lives...the Commander is offering to take just one in return. Take the deal" Lincoln ordered. "How can you say that?" Clarke finally spoke. "Finn was the first person to come to you and offer peace. He's your friend" Clarke says. "He massacred my village. Some of the dead were my friends too" Lincoln explained. "But that wasn't Finn" Clarke whispered. "You know that's not who he is" She added. "It is now..." Lincoln pointed out. "We've all got a monster inside us, Clarke, and we're all responsible for what it does when we let it out" Lincoln pointed out. I sighed, closing my eyes for a moment. "What will they do to him?" K asked. "Fire, because he killed the Innocent, it starts with fire" Lincoln begins to explain. "Starts?" Clarke asked. My stomach turns "They'll take his hands, his tongue, his eyes and anyone who grieves will have a turn with the knife" Lincoln goes on and I feel my stomach wanting to release my food. "Sunrise, the Commander will end it with her sword but I've never known anyone to survive until the sword," Lincoln says. "He killed eighteen, he will suffer the pain of eighteen deaths and then we can have peace" Lincoln finishes.

The distant chatter among the Grounders makes me rush over to Clarke as she comes out of the tent. "This is it! Come on get Finn inside!" I shouted at her. We rushed him inside the Ark before standing by the doors. Bellamy and the rest of the guards armed the door. "They're trying to scare us" Bellamy stated. "I think we should pull back and go inside the station" Abby whispered over to Clarke and me as the Grounders kept chanting the same thing over and over again. "No" I shake my head. "We need to prove we're not afraid," I say to Abby. "What if I am?" Abby asked. "Fake it" Clarke nudged her before grabbing her hand and holding it. My heart sank then, knowing I could never be the daughter that Clarke is. Abby walked forward and Bellamy, Clarke, and I followed. "Open the gate" she ordered. The gate opened and Abby stood in front of the Grounders that brought us back here. "Here's the boy?" One asked. "We're not giving him up. We're ready to fight if that's what it comes to" Abby says to them. A horn blows in the distance, causing the Grounders to retreat. "Watch the woods!" Bellamy called out. "Watch for movement!" I called out right after. I look in the distance to see the dark-haired man. "Oh my god...Bellamy is that?" I stopped when he spoke. "Don't shoot!" Marcus shouted, raising his hands in the air as he walked closer. He walked into camp and I tilted my head to the side. "Marcus?" Abby asked. "Chancellor..." he smirked. "I was afraid that I wouldn't see you again" Abby stated. "I had those fears myself" Marcus stated. I wanted to slightly throw up. Marcus lifted his head and looked over at me "Aurora...." His voice sounded relieved and as he took a step towards me a backed away, shaking my head as tears formed in my eyes and quickly reminding me over Izzy. He looked hurt for a moment before speaking again. "It's good to see this place again," he said. "We can't be out in the open" Bellamy spoke up, looking at me with an arched brow. "We need to get somewhere safe" he added. Marcus slightly laughed "It's safe for the moment. Come on, we need to talk" Marcus says, walking past us all. "I managed to buy us a bit of time," he says before walking away with Abby. "Hey, wait" Bellamy grabbed my arm when I go to walk away. "What?" I asked him. "What was that all about?" He asked me. "What?" I asked him again. "You completely disregarded Marcus" he pointed out. "So?" I shrugged. "So? Aurora he's your father" Bellamy stated. "No, he's not...He's the one that floated my father. So forgive me if I'm not in the mood for family bonding" I rolled my eyes. "Okay, Are you gonna stop avoiding the other fact as well?" Bellamy asked me. "What other fact?" I asked him. "That Clarke and you are half-sisters, Abby is your mother" he stated. "Simple, ignore it and hope it goes away...." I smile. He rolled his eyes this time "You're so stubborn" he stated. I tilted my head to the side for a moment. "Yes, I know" I smiled before turning and walking off.

"Finn!" Bellamy walked up to Clarke, Finn, and me. "You need to get out of here," Bellamy says. "Where would he go?" Clarke asked. "The dropship" Bellamy suggested. "No! This is the safest place for him right now" I say as Clarke and Bellamy begin to walk Finn down the hall. "It isn't if they're turning on him, we can protect him at the dropship until we figure something out so grab your gear and meet at Raven's gate in five. She's already working on cutting the power to the fence" Bellamy ordered Clarke and me. "Okay but nobody's coming with me," Finn says as we turned the corner. "That isn't up for discussion," Bellamy says. "We are surrounded by Grounders" Clarke pointed out. "If we split up, we take the low ground we'll make it through. We'll make it at the dropship" Bellamy says. "There he is!" A man shouted before stalking him. "You are gonna get us killed!" He shouted as he goes to swing a metal pipe I jump, turning and the side of my heel catches his jaw, knocking him on the ground. "Anyone else?!" I screamed as the metal echoed off the floor. "Bellamys right, we have to go," Clarke says to Finn.

Bellamy and I are the first to arrive at the dropship. "Where's Finn and Clarke?" I asked. Raven walked into the dropship "Raven" I smiled. "You seen Finn or Clarke?" I asked her. "I'll go check" she stared, walking back out of the dropship. I turned to Bellamy "What if they got held up? May-" Bellamy stopped me, grabbing my hand. "Wait, hold on a minute...can we talk?" He asked. "Talk?" I asked, knitting my brows together. "Yeah, this is the first moment we've had alone and you haven't even said anything about what Chancellor Jaha told you" he pointed out. "I don't have time to do this" I shake my head. Raven comes back into the dropship "I checked again...No sign of them" she sighed. She looked between the two of us. "Am I interrupting something?" She asked. "No" I quickly say. "Where are they?" Bellamy asked. "We should've split up" Raven whispers, shaking her head. Thud! Thud! Thud! "Someone is coming" Bellamy announced as he raised his gun to the sound of heavy footsteps. Just then Murphy comes into the dropship with a gun. "Woah! Hey, hey, hey" he raised his hands in defense. "Murphy?" Bellamy knit his brows together as Raven made him lower his gun. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked in an annoyed tone. "I believe I was invited" Murphy smirked. "I thought we could use an extra gun" Raven shrugged. "You've got to be kidding me, really Raven?" I scoffed. "Arabella, this might be a good idea" Bellamy tried to tell me. "When has bringing Murphy anywhere been good for anyone?" I pointed out. Bellamy doesn't respond. "Finn should've been right behind you," Raven tells Murphy. He scoffed "Don't worry. The spacewalker's gonna be fine" he tells us. Bellamy has a look on his face like he's thinking. I grabbed his warm hand "They'll be back" I smiled at him before walking away. Suddenly Finn rushed into the dropship with Clarke in his arms. I rushed over to them "What happened?" I asked him, worrier about Clarke. "A grounder hit her on the head" Finn explained. "Put her here..." I instructed as I gestured to the floor. "I need a bandage, a wrap, anything!" I ordered. "Here," Bellamy handed me a cloth. "Hold her head" I instructed him as he lifted her head slightly I placed the cloth under it. "Clarke, can you hear me?" I asked, softly touching her cheek. "Clarke?" I called out. She tries to speak but can't "It's alright. You're going to be fine" I tell her. "You just need to rest" I added. Raven goes over to a panicky Finn. "Hey, it's okay, It's just a bump on the head," Raven tells him. "Clarke is gonna be okay" she added. "Are you?" Raven then asked him. He doesn't respond "We'll figure this out," Raven tells him. "That's what she said right before I almost got her killed," Finn tells Raven before storming out of the dropship, and Raven followed him.

It has been an hour as I wipe the blood from Clarke's ear when Finn joins me. "Still nothing?" He whispered. "Just give her a little time" I advised him. "Clarke and you are half-sisters?" Finn asked me. I feel uneasy about the conversation. "Y-yeah...I guess so" I breathed out. "Promise me one thing then?" Finn asked. "What?" I wondered. "No matter how this turns out...good or bad you'll always be there for Clarke and look after her?" He asked me. I nodded "I will Finn, but I won't need to with you around" I smiled at him. Just then Clarke moved and opens her eyes, looking at us both. "Hey" I greeted her. "Told you she'll be okay" I nudged Finn. Clarke goes to sit up "Slow and easy Clarke," I tell her before standing to my feet and walking out of the dropship. I walk over to Bellamy to see him looking out into the forest. "How's Clarke?" He asked me. "Better, she's awake and talking" I informed him. My heart skipped a beat when I hear rustling in the woods. "Bellamy..." I whispered as we got low to the ground. I pull an arrow out and line it with my bow as Bellamy lifted his gun and aims it in the trees along with Monroe and Murphy. "Hey! We got company!" Bellamy announced. "Hey! Get down!" I ordered as Finn and Clarke come outside. They both run over to a dirt hill and take cover with Finn's gun. I pulled my arrow back to my cheek and close one eye, looking at all the moving people. "We're surrounded...." I announced to Bellamy. "Everyone get in the dropship" I ordered. We all rushed inside and wait on the second floor. "They're not moving any closer," Murphy says. "They're staying out of range" I explained as they both look out the curtains. "They'll be waiting until it's dark" Bellamy adds before walking over to my side. "If we hit them now, we take them by surprise" Murphy suggested. "We don't even know how many of them are out there" Clarke pointed out. "I'm not hearing any better ideas, Clarke," Murphy says. "We'll give them something" Raven stated. "All they want us Finn" Bellamy reminds her. "Finn wasn't the only one at the village" Raven reminded us. "What are you talking about?" Clarke asked. It then hit me, that's why she asked Murphy to come. "Raven, hold on," Bellamy says. "Whoa. Raven, I came here to protect him. You were the one who wanted me to come. You..." Murphy then got it himself. "That's why you asked me to come along" Murphy smirked. "Enough grounders saw him. They'd believe he was the shooter" Raven announced. "You sick bitch" Murphy hissed at her. "Raven you don't mean this" I shake my head. "You know what they do to people," Bellamy says. "They want a murderer. We'll give them one" Raven glared at Murphy before raising her gun at him and loading it. "Drop your gun!" She shouted. Murphy stepped towards her "Go to hell Raven" he hissed out. "Put it down Raven!" I ordered. "Like it or not he's one of us!" I tell her. She ignored me "I said drop it." "Stop! Stop!" Finn grabbed the gun from Raven. "We're not doing this," He tells us. "They've got us surrounded. The only thing we can do is stay and defend this place" Finn pointed out. "I'm with you" Bellamy agreed with him. I nodded as the rest of us did. "Murphy, go upstairs and watch the rear" I ordered him. "I'll take the lower level. You four the front gate" Finn ordered us. "That's the plan, alright?" Finn asked. We all nodded in agreement before Bellamy and I walk off together. Raven and Clarke soon joined us as we watch the wall. "See anything?" Raven asked Clarke. "No" she whispered back. I hear the rustling of leaves. "Someone's coming" Clarke stated. I aimed my bow to see Finn standing just outside the gate. "Finn?" Raven asked as he raised his arms above his head. "No!" Clarke rushed to her feet. "Finn!" She called out as the grounders grabbed a hold of him and rushed him away. I run over to Clarke realizing that Finn had planned this all along and we let him play us.

It was nightfall when we watched from inside our fence to see all the fires from the grounders as they cheered. "What is that?" Raven asked. I already knew the answer. "It's for Finn," Clarke tells Raven. "They want us to watch" she adds. "We're gonna get him," Bellamy tells us. "We'll get in close and we'll hit them hard" Bellamy suggested next to me but talking to Kane. "Son... there are thousands of them" Kane reminded Bellamy. "Even if we could kill hundreds they'd still wipe out this camp and your friend would still die" He explained. "We still have to try" I pointed out. "Abby, we have to do something" Raven spoke. "No, Raven" Abby shakes her head. My eyes filled with tears and I looked over at Clarke and grabbed Bellamy's hand and followed her away from the crowd. "You're coming with me Shadow," Clarke says. "Take this" I give Bellamy my bow and arrows and Clarke hands him her weapons. "What are you two doing?" Bellamy asked as we kept walking. "We're gonna talk to the commander," Clarke says. "What else do you have to say?" Bellamy questioned as we get closer. "I don't know...I don't know" She shakes her head. "Give me your hand" Raven instructed Clarke. Clarke does and Raven slips a knife under her sleeve. "If she won't let him go, kill her" Raven ordered Clarke. "Things will go crazy, then we'll grab you and Shadow and Finn" Raven explained. I catch Bellamy's glance of worry and touched his hand softly. "Clarke, Ella...you have to help him" Raven whispered. "I owe him my life..." Raven adds. We stepped outside the camp and Clarke stopped for a moment. "I'm right here Clarke..." I whispered to her. "If you need me to do this I will..." I say to her. She shakes her head and begins walking towards the grounders. I follow close to her side not straying an inch. We walk along the path of grounders on horses and as we walk further they close in from behind us. It's so quiet you could hear a pin drop. We reached the commander's right hand and she stuck a pointed spear out to us. "We're here to talk to your commander," I tell her. The pointed spear is inches away from my stomach but I step closer, letting it make me bleed. "Let us through" I ordered. It was a long moment "Let them pass!" The commander spoke. Indra removed the spear that slightly scratch my stomach and Clarke and I approached her. "You bleed for nothing," she tells me. "You cannot stop this" she adds as she looks at Clarke. "No...only you can," Clarke tells her. Her people begin shouting as Finn is brought out. "Show our people how powerful you are" I stated. "Show them you can be merciful" I add. "Show them you're not a savage," I tell her. "We are what we are" The commander spoke with a dark tone as her people tied Finn to a wooden post in the ground. "Then I'm a killer" Clarke blurted out. "I burn 300 of your people, I slit a man's throat and watched him die. I'm soaked in grounder blood. Take me" Clarke offered her. "But Finn is guilty," She tells Clarke. "No!" She began to cry. "He did it for me...he did it for me," she says, her voice breaking. "Then he does for you..." the commander spoke. "Can I say goodbye?" Clarke asked her after glancing at Finn. She nods to Clarke "but this one stays here" The commander ordered. Clarke walked over to Finn and I stayed by the commander's side. When he reaches Finn they connect lips for a kiss. I watched in horror as I noticed what Clarke had done. Finn's head dropped and my heart sank. "Clarke!" I yelled at her, rushing over to her to see all the blood. She killed Finn, why? The grounders go to attack but the commander stopped them. "No! It is done!" She shouted. "Noooooo!" I hear Raven scream at the top of her lungs. "No!" She screamed louder. "Clarke...what did you do?" I asked her in a whisper.
