Many Happy Returns

Shadow's POV

I have been following them for hours, hiding in the trees and bushes. "Anya, we've been walking for hours. Where are we going?" Clarke asked her. "Quiet" Anya ordered Clarke, dragging her along. "Why not just kill me and get it over with?" She asked Anya. "You can tell the Commander what the Mountain men are doing to us in there" she explained to Clarke. "So let's work together. Go back and get Aurora. We don't have to be enemies" Clarke suggested. "And unite with someone as weak as you? Besides Shadow didn't come up from the water so she's dead. I have what I need" she hissed. "So nice of you to assume..." I whispered as I smirked, watching her walk again. "Hey! We both want the same thing" Clarke pulled her back. I spot the green light pointed at Clarke "Get down!" Anya shoved Clarke in the ground as I see Mountain men. I see all of them as an arrow hit inches away from me in the tree. "Run!" Anya shouted. I grabbed the dart, swinging from the trees as I follow them. They keep following. Anya hides Clarke "Down!" She ordered her. "No, not to drink" Anya ordered as I watched them sink to the puddle. Clarke throws the water down. "Then why stop? We should be running" Clarke pointed out. Anya suddenly picked up the mud and slapped Clarke in the face with it. "You feel, cover yourself in it" Anya ordered. Anya was smart, I had to give her that. As soon as they left the puddle I did the same, covering myself in the mud and following them. They travel up a large hill and I wait in the trees. The Mountain men keep following us. "How do they keep following us?" Clarke asked. "Because of you! Time to end it!" Anya said, holding up a rock. I get ready to jump but is stop when Clarke speaks. "I've stepped where you've stepped I'm covered in mud. We're not leaving a trail" Clarke says. "They're following something..." Anya stated. "They're not following us. They're tracking us" Clarke says. "Search yourself. If I'm right it should feel like a small bump just under your skin" Clarke explained and I begin checking my arms but I had nothing. Anya yanked off her sleeve and I see the bump on her arm. "It's you..." Clarke gasped. "Okay I can remove it, but I need you to untie my hands" Clarke explained. "I just need something sharp and sterile" Clarke added. Anya suddenly bites into her own arm before ripping a chunk out and spitting it on the ground. "I will not go back there" Anya breathed heavily.

I followed them to a river until Clarke pulled her back. "Anya, you're still bleeding at least let me bandage it before it gets infected" Clarke offered. Suddenly as Anya looked down I jumped off the tree and onto her, shoving the dart into her neck. She falls to the ground, passing out. "Shadow!?" Clarke gasped as I cut her free. She pulled me into a hug "How'd you find us?" She asked me. "I followed you since the waterfall, I saw Anya attack you and waited for the right time" I explained. I wrapped the cloth around Anya's hands, tying them. "Looks like your our Prisoner now bitch" I smiled. "Come on, we can find our way back from here," I tell Clarke. Clarke helped me make a stretcher, putting Anya on it and helping her drag it through the woods until we got to the campsite. We got to the dropship and we put Anya down. "Shadow.." Clarke says, causing me to turn around and look to see her name on the side of the dropship. "I'm gonna check inside," I say. "Okay," she tells me. Suddenly I heard a fight and I see Anya hitting Clarke. "Hey!" I screamed, rushing over and pulling her off Clarke before punching her in the face. I picked up a knife I see on the ground and throw ashes in her face as she stood. "I'm gonna love killing you Anya" I smirked at her. "You're the one that's gonna die," she says. She went for me but I jumped, kicking her in the jaw and she landed down. She got back up but I charged at her. She knocked the knife out of my hands so fast. I punched her in the face again, then again. Blood dripped from her nose as I see Bellamy's face in my head. I punch her again when I see my sister. Again when I begin to see the people we lost. "Shadow! Stop!" Clarke shouted. I picked up the knife and raised it above my head high. Then I hear the voice in my head. "You're always so kind to everyone Sha, this isn't you...Killing isn't who you are" my sister's voice echoed in my head and I hear a loud bang, lifting my head to see a hot air balloon far in the distance. I sigh, stabbing the knife into the ground and climbing off Anya. "You fought well..." Anya laughed. "Do you see that?" I asked Clarke. "He lied Clarke! Our people are alive" I say to her.

It was dark now as we dragged Anya with us. The closer we got I heard the distant chatter. Then the lights "Clarke..." I gasped. "Look at that" I smiled. "How many are there?" Anya asked. "I don't know a lot I hope" Clarke answered her. I then turned to Anya, untying her cloth around her hands. "I'm letting you go," I tell her. "I'm not weak but I'm not like you," I say to her. "Clarke you were right, our only chance against Mount Weather is if we fight together" I explained. "To beat them, we'll see need our technology and your knowledge of this world" Clarke explained. "I know our people will help," I say. "The question is...will yours?" I turned to Anya. "The Commander was my second. I can get an audience" She nodded. Clarke stuck out her hand and they shook. "Please hurry" Clarke begged. Anya turned and began walking away. Bang! "Ah!" Anya went down as the gunfire went off. "Anya!!!" Clarke and I shouted, running towards her. Bang! Suddenly I fee a hot burning pain in my arm. I turned Anya over Bang! Another gunshot - went off, hitting Clarke in her. "Hey hey hey" Clarke whispered to Anya. "No! No! No!" I screamed as I put pressure on her wound. "Yu gonplei ste odon" Anya whispered, taking her last breath. "Anya!" I shouted, letting out a sigh. Footsteps approaching make me whip around and a butt of a gun had hit me in the head, everyone going black.
