Fog Of War

Shadow's POV

It's been two days since we had returned to camp. It's dark as Bellamy, Clarke, and I sit outside at a table going over plans. I'm sitting next to Bellamy and Clarke across from us. "It's a labyrinth. We got to the damn through this tunnel" Clarke explained on the map she had drawn. "Yeah. It's all connected to the line system" I added. "That's our way in" Clarke stated. "Sure, if we can get past the Reapers and the Mountain Men" Bellamy pointed out. "I swear to god, If your mom doesn't sanction a mission I'm going by myself" Bellamy sighed, putting his hand on my knee. "You are not going by yourself" I hissed at him. Clarke looks past us, causing us not to look over our shoulder to see Finn walking this way. "Guess the inquisitions over," Bellamy says. "How's Finn doing anyway?" Bellamy asked, looking back at Clarke. "I haven't talked to him since we got back" Clarke informed him. "Good..." I mumbled. Bellamy looked at me with a stern explaining. "What? I can't ignore that he kill a whole village of innocent people" I shrugged. Clarke looked at me "Sorry..." I sighed. She shakes her head "I don't know what to say...he just kept shooting" Clarke whispered. "We're at war Clarke. We've all done things" Bellamy pointed out. "Hey." I turn my head to see Finn standing by me. "Hey," Bellamy said back. Finn stared at Clarke and Clarke stared back. "You know Bell, You never did get me that drink you promised" I pointed out. Bellamy smirked "Oh my mistake my Queen," he says as we both stand. "Let me get you that then" he offered me his hand and I take it. We walked over to the bar and get two glasses of beer before sitting at a table away from Clarke and Finn. "You know, I never did ask...how are you okay with Octavia being with a Grounder?" I asked Bellamy. He chuckled "I'm not 100% okay with it, but he did save her life" he pointed out as I take a drink from my glass. I sit on Bellamy's lap and turn to him "Sometimes you are way too forgiving of people" I informed him. He chuckled "Yeah?" He asked. I smile at him "Don't ever change Bellamy...." I kissed him, causing us both to laugh. "Wow...love birds finally together?" I hear the voice and it causes me to tense up. I look over my shoulder to see Murphy sitting across from us. "Go away Murphy" Bellamy ordered. "What? Come on, I've been pardoned of all my crimes" Murphy says. I glared at him "Just because they've pardoned you....doesn't mean I have, You not only tried to kill Me but also Bellamy and Jasper" I hissed. "Shadow! come on!" Clarke called out. "Coming!" I called out. "You...you can rot in hell" I finish telling Murphy before walking off with Clarke and Raven.

"I tweaked the resonator and got this" Raven explained. She turned in the radio and I hear the electrical whirring noise. "It's on every frequency" Raven informed Clarke and me. "Long-range communication is totally screwed" I sighed. "It could be why the range in our walkers suck as well" I added. "Yeah it's the same signal Monty heard on the black box of the Exodus ship" Raven explained. I was shocked my eyes widening. "Mount Weather crashed the Exodus Ship?" Clarke asked. "Can you get around the signal?" I asked Raven. "Around it? No" she shakes her head. "But if I can get to the tower that broadcast it, I can make it go boom" Raven smirked. "No one is going anywhere!" Abby hissed as she entered the room with Byrns. "Mom, listen to me—" Abby cut Clarke off. "What do I have to do to get through to you?" Abby asked. "You and your friends are not soldiers and continuing to act like you are putting lives at risk" She added. "Wait! You don't understand" I said. "Raven found something," I tell Abby. "Mount Weather is jamming our communications" I explained. "It's true. There could be other Ark stations on the ground" Raven says. "And more guards. You don't we don't have enough people to fight a two-front war. Mom, we're already fighting one" Clarke explained. "The Grounders retaliation for the massacre could happen at any time and when it does we need every available man to defend this camp" Byrne stated. "So let us go" Clarke offered. "You're not gonna stop, are you?" Abby asked Clarke and me. "Not until our friends are safe" I answered. We waited for a moment "Okay...but I'm coming with you" Abby tells us. "Ma'am I just said..." Abby cuts her off. "It's been quiet for two days. Maybe Kane is making headway with the Grounders Commander" she suggested. "Or maybe he's dead and they're passing against us as we speak" Byrne suggested. "Maybe...which is why we need more guards" Abby pointed out. "Then it's settled. We're going back to Mount Weather" Clarke says. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared to go back to that place after what I had seen with Clarke.

Raven, Octavia, Clarke, Abby, Bellamy, and Finn and I are all walking through the woods. I leaned over to Bellamy "I can't believe they let Finn come" I whispered. "He's the best rackets we've got" Bellamy pointed out. "Don't forget to look up. The Grounders use the tree!" Bellamy called out. "It's how we lose John Mbege" I informed them. Abby walks next to me now "Mind if I steal Shadow for a moment?" Abby asked Bellamy. He shakes his head "No, go ahead" Bellamy caught up with Octavia and I let out a sigh. "You know, Marcus Kane didn't find out until his mother died on unity day" she pointed out. "I should care why?" I say in a bored tone. "I can't imagine how you must feel, Being Marcus is the one that—" I cut her off. "Locked me up? You're right, you can't imagine...Everyone lying to you your whole life" I hissed out in a very harsh tone. "I do not care to know Marcus Kane or whoever my mother is..." I added. "My parents were floated by Marcus Kane and You and the rest of the council..." I pointed out. "Just because Clarke and I are friends....doesn't mean we're cool, got it?" I asked her. I rushed away, catching back up with Bellamy.

Raven looks through her binoculars before she pointed to the wreckage. "There!" She called out. "I see it" she stated. I shake my head "It will be dark soon. We'll never spot the traps" I informed Clarke. "She's right, We would set up camp here and leave at first light" Clarke explained. Abby looks around for a moment "We're missing two" she says. She turned to Clarke and me. "Where the hell are they?" she asked. "Bellamy! Octavia!" A guard called out causing my heart to drop. "Ladies! We are in enemy territory and their lives are my responsibility" Abby says to both of us. Clarke sighed "They went to find a way in" she stated. "Clarke" I hissed, shaking my head. "Not a word from you!" Abby pointed at me, using a motherly tone towards me. "Away in? That's not what this mission is about" Abby says. "It is from them," I say to Abby, ignoring her command for me to keep quiet. "Find them and bring them back" Abby called out as she turned to the guard. "I'm going with them" Finn stated, picking up a weapon. My heart dropped "Finn wait!"' Clarke called out. "We need you here," Raven says. "No! Absolutely not!" I scoffed. "You're staying here" I ordered him. "Why? So you all can keep an eye on me?" Finn asked. Clarke can't even look at him "You'd have to be able to look at me to do that" Finn harshly says to Clarke. "Do not turn this around on Clarke, You are the person who massacred a whole village of innocent people!" I shouted at him, my anger filling my chest again. "Arabella!" Clarke shouted at me. "Finn..." Raven tries to speak but he shoved her away. "What do you think I'm gonna do!" She shouted. He tossed the gun down and stormed away. "I'll get him," Clarke says. "You need to go apologize..." Abby ordered. I scoffed "Fine...whatever" I begin to follow Clarke. "Wait, Finn! Come back!" I called out when I spotted him. He stopped, turning around to Clarke and me. "It was an accident...." He whispered to Clarke and me. The wind howled through the air, causing me to turn around and see the yellow mist. "What is that?" I asked. "Run!!!" Finn yelled. We took off like a bat outta hell. "Acid fog! Take cover! If you can hear me use the tents!" Clarke yelled into the walkie. "My tent! I forgot my pack!" I shouted at Clarke. "It's okay! We can use the bunker!" Finn shouted. My lungs begin to feel like they're burning as Finn opened the door and Clarke and I jumped inside. I was coughing and gagging from the toxic air. "Are you okay?" Finn asked Clarke. "Yeah I'm okay," Clarke says. I walked forward when I trip over something, falling down. "Ow!" I winched. My heart dropped when I see I tripped over a dead body. "Oh my god!" I screamed, causing Clarke to whip around. She sees the dead Grounder and her eyes go wide. Finn rushed into the bathroom as I covered my nose from the smell. The rotting body of the Grounder causes me to rush into the bathroom as Finn puts a blanket over it. I empty my entire stomach into the toilet.

I sit on the bed, hoping that everyone made it safe for shelter. Clarke paces back and forth. "Stop" Finn whispered to her. "I'm sure they're fine" he informed her. Clarke stared at him with this glare in her eyes. "First you can't look at me and now you're looking at me like I'm the enemy," he says to her. "I'm not looking at you like that" Clarke says to him. "Well, you don't look at me the way you used to" Finn stated. "Like the way Bellamy and Rory look at each other" Finn stated. I knit my brows together for a moment but did not respond to his comment. He stood to his feet "I've been waiting for the right moment to give you this. It's starting to feel like that moment might not come" Finn extended Clarke's watch to her. She gasped, taking it from him. "And here...." Finn turned to me, reaching into his pocket and holding out a golden necklace with the letter A on the heart. My heart dropped as intake it from him, standing to my feet. "Oh..." I sighed. I pulled Finn into a hug and put the necklace around my neck right on top of Izzys and look at it. "Where did you get these?" Clarke asked Finn. "It was around his neck" Finn informed Clarke as he pointed to the dead body. Finn comes down the ladder. "The fog has cleared" he informed us. "Great...I will wait outside" I smiled, climbing up the latter. I opened the hatch and stepped outside. I waited for Clarke and Finn until they came out. We started walking back to Camp Jaha, where Abby and Raven are. When We got there Abby immediately pulls Clarke into before hugging me. "I'm glad you two are safe" she whispered. I looked around for a moment "Where's Bellamy and Octavia?" I asked. "They know to rendezvous here" Abby stated. "Have you true the radio?" Clarke asked. "Still jammed" Raven informed us. "You didn't blow up the tower?" I asked her. "Raven figured out a way that we could listen to Mount Weather" Abby informed us. "So if we took out the antenna we wouldn't be able to do that" Abby pointed out. "What about the other Ark stations?" I asked. "None of us know if they made it" Abby stated. "What we do know is that forty-six of our people are being prisoners on that Mountain" Abby added. "We're gonna get them out," Abby says before hugging Clarke. I walked over to Finn who sighed "I'm sorry...about what I said" I whispered. He lowered his head. "We all have battle scars..." I reached out and touched his arm. "It shows differently in others...I should've taken that into account" I apologize to him. "Can you forgive me?" I asked him. "Help!" Someone called out. "Stay here Chancellor" the guard called out. "Help me!" A voice shouted again as they approached the trees. "Put your hands up!" The guard yelled. My eyes went wide when I see Jaha standing from the ground, putting his hands in the air. "Stand down," Jaha said, pushing the guard's gun down. He walked over to us "Thelonious?" Abby whispered. He fell to his knees when he sees our camp, our home. He coughs, his face is bloody and beaten. "I have a message...from the Commander" he fought their words. "Leave...or die," he tells us. "We have two days" he informed us, causing my heart to almost stop.
