Spending The Night

The date was Friday, April 5, 2002. I, Steve, and Kevin just came home from school that afternoon and was ready to get our weekends started. When I came home, I put up my backpack and proceeded to watch some TV.

Then all of a sudden, the phone rings at my place. So, my mom picks up the phone to see who it is. "Hello?", my mom said.

"Hey, I don't know if you remember me. This is one of Jamal's friends. I and my older brother was wondering if Jamal would like to come over and spend the night with us for the very first time.", said Steve. "Ok, hold on. I'll let you know what he says.", my mom said. "Alright, cool!", said Steve.

Then my mom put Steve on hold. "Jamal!", my mom said. "What is it, mom?", I said.

"One of your friends wanted to know if you would like to spend the night with them.", my mom said. "Gimme the phone.", I said. Then my mom gave me the telephone, and I addressed the phone call.

"Hello?", I said. "Hey!", said Steve. "Oh, hey man! What's up?", I said.
