12 Is it wrong to embrace an elf beauty?

In Kai's hand were the souls of the ten Evilus members Ryuu just killed.

Ryuu beside him looked at him curiously, she was intrigued about what he was up to but deemed that it wasn't her place to inquire about his secrets.

Likewise, Kai was also intrigued about her past and identity that it, as far as he knew she has a somewhat dark past losing all of her Familia from an enemy Familia.

Nevertheless, none of them inquired about each other's secrets, this is a way to show each other respect.

The sun had just risen, bright and warm sunshine coming from the west.

The two were walking side by side enjoying the cold early morning breeze.

The two seem to have gotten a bit closer after today's event.

Being together with Ryuu is a refreshing feeling altogether, some might feel awkward due to the silence because she was a person of few words, but silence is something that Kai appreciates greatly from time to time, unlike his two rowdy saber companions.

Originally Artoria is a silent one but the longer they spend time together the more open she becomes.

But be that as it may Kai appreciates and loved both sabers albeit only Philia love at the moment.

Philia is love without romantic attraction and occurs between friends or family members.

Kai was satisfied with his current relationship with both sabers, further development in their budding relationship is for his future self to face.

Though they already showed bold approaches trying to tempt him, Kai isn't in a hurry, and so we're they, and so Kai just let them be.

Their hints and baits is something Kai knew very well.

He isn't innocent, naïve or clueless.

It's not like they're in a hurry to move to the next stage.

They're not sexually frustrated as well.

It's more like a competition between the two of them.

Both women are competitive.

Well, they're both monarchs after all.

Nero and Artoria are trying to outmatch each other from time to time, and whom will get his virginity seems to be the championship league for the two of them to determine whose better.

Nevertheless, Kai doesn't let their antics disturb him and just let them be.

Right now, Nero is on a personal Quest in the mainland.

He wasn't worried about her safety in the slightest.

Besides, in this world there are only a few that could challenge either Artoria and Nero.

Even if a god decides to fully descend taking down Nero and Artoria wouldn't be that easy.

Besides, worrying about Nero's safety is meaningless, not that Kai was overconfident or arrogant, this is just him showing how much he trusted Nero's capabilities.

And if worse comes to worst Kai, Nero and Artoria are connected via a soul contract and so long he stays alive reviving the other is only a matter of time.

Taking in the information was of no hassle to Kai.

Sorting out everything Kai was both intrigue and worried.

Though he hadn't underestimated this world it seems it has more to offer.

There are two forces in play aiming to destroy the city.

First was Evilus, a group of fanatic believers who was supposed to have been wiped out 5 years ago by Ryuu, and Enyo a new factor altogether who command irregular plant like monsters and powerful demi spirits.

"This is worrisome."

Uttered Kai.

Ryuu looks straight into his eyes.

Knowing what's running in her mind obvious from the serious and curious expression she's having Kia decided to finally enlighten her telling her about all the information he had acquired.

Thereafter a long minute of detailed explanation, Ryuu expression became ugly, her eyes were emotionless, and she's gripping her own arms so tight that her nails punctured her skin that it began to bleed.

"Are you ok?"

Kai asked the obvious just to get her attention.

*Silence*

Ryuu didn't know how to respond.

She was enraged to hear that the sworn enemy of her Familia they fought tooth and nail which cost her Familia's lives still exist.

The anger deep within her is boiling.

She wanted to go out there and hunt them down, but she knew her current strength was insufficient, if Kai's information was accurate one careless move could kill her.

She just regained her life; found a new family and friends, and grew interest to someone, dying isn't something she desired.

However, at the same time, the mere thought of the person whom was responsible for the deaths of her deceased friends living his life out there and plotting behind the scenes preparing a revenge plan using the same monster that wipe out her Familia made her anger grow, her subconscious urging her to make a move and end the person once and for all.

One of the crucial information Kai acquired was about some rag-tag Evilus members planning on getting back on Ryuu.

Two of the Evilus members Ryuu had killed were part of the same Familia responsible for the deaths of Ryuu's former comrades.

"I'm fine." Replied Ryuu lowering her head to hide her anger filled expression.

"You don't need to lie to me, I can tell that you aren't feeling well. To be honest, I can't say that I know how you feel, although I lost people I cherish, compared to what you must have experienced it's incomparable."

Kai told her in a low and melancholic voice the faces of his loving parents flashing before his eyes.

Ryuu looking up to him, she saw his melancholy, her anger filled expression lessened a bit.

"There's no need to endure everything by yourself. You can say to my face that it isn't my place, or you don't want others to get involved in your own personal matter, but even if you push me, I will not leave you, and not just me, those girls back in the pub will surely wouldn't hesitate to help you out in your endeavors, they're your friends after all."

Suddenly Kai grabbed Ryuu's hand healing her wound using basic recovery and dragged her body close to his and gave her a heartfelt embrace, surprising her greatly.

His own emotions resonate with her.

Ryuu eyes widen in shock, her anger-filled expression completely vanished in an instant and was replaced by utter embarrassment.

'Isn't she supposed to lean on my shoulders and cry nonstop? Did I make a miscalculation?' Kai thought to himself as he looked down at the red-faced Ryuu.

Ryuu was on the verge of tears after listening to his words, but his sudden pull and hug dispelled it all.

The right script should have been pulled, hug and sweet words not words, pull, and hug.

Kai realizing his mistake had the urge to shrug the back of his head out of habit but cannot do so or Ryuu might escape his firm grasp.

On the other hand Ryuu who didn't know what's running inside Kai's head was so embarrassed that she want to dig a hole and bury herself in it, but she didn't have the courage to push him, and she somewhat felt comfortable enjoying his embraced, it reminded her of that time she fell asleep under the spirit tree of her hometown, that she didn't want to let go of him.
