24 Chp-24 Bandits

Bael Pov:

"That's all there is about those Black Bandits." Was the voice heard in the carriage, where a discussion was being held.

" I see, Thank you for the info GuildMaster Robin. ", Another voice was heard replying to the now identified GuildMaster Robin.

" It was my duty afterall so no need to thank me Armin-Dono.", Robin said to the person whose name was Armin.

"Then, I will return to my carriage. I will want my team of this.", Armin stated before he went outside the carriage.

" Certainly Armin-dono, We'll also be preparing for the ambush.", Robin directed a reply to Armin as he exited the carriage.

-----

Bael Pov.

With that I exited their carriage to reach mine. If you didn't guessed it already, then let me clear your doubts.

Armin is me and Ari is Aria, the Sentinel's Commander. After hearing that there were some activities going on related to the Forest which was right next to my territory, I had to look into it.

So, I disguised ourselves as wandering adventurers and registered in the guild.

Now, how did we became A ranked you might ask? Well it's simple really, just some mind magic and a bit of reality was all it took for us to get this rank. Then why not higher you might think. Because A-rank is the most suitable point for us to start as adventurers, as we get more famous and our deeds get known by more people then it won't be long before we climb the higher ranks.

In A rank, People will neither be that nice and stick up to you like you're se kind of celebrity or not that low that they will look down on you.

The current guild is not that developed as seen in the Time Rimuru went to Ingrassia,

You could say the infrastructure was just getting laid so joining the guild was a matter of going to the kingdom's capital and registering your promotion will directly be held there if you are ready for it.

Whereas in the future, for higher ranks you had to visit the headquarters and possibly encounter the Grandmaster that was Yuuki Ka-something-ku. The less I meet people like him at my plan's development phase the merrier. I don't want to swat flys all day around rather then doing something productive.

In the beginning i thought about doing this quest alone with Ari but surprisingly I encountered four young Japanese looking people so I had to Introduce myself.

In my original life, I was not a Japanese and then in the OverLord Earth, I didn't get the feel of being a Japanese because it didn't matter in that world really.

The Giant Conglomerate of Companies runed the entire world. There, culture and tradition meant nothing infornt of Torturous Work and Sucking their employees dry. *Sigh* If I ever get a skill that makes me world travel then the first world I will be visiting is that Earth and Blowing that place up to kingdom come.

Anyways, enough of this past monologuing

I just wanted to meet some Japanese people for the first time and here we are now.

Also the fact that they might hold some interesting Unique Skills in their possession was an added fact.

I learnt that they were summoned by Leon in his search of his best friend. They were quite lucky in my opinion. They did not get to suffer the same fate as Shizue, thinking of...should I save her?

Does she bring any benefit to me though?

..none...then let's make Rimuru grant her last wish.

Along the journey I learnt of many things about them. The fact that they were from a timeline where YouTube already existed meant they were most likely from the 21st

Century.

Should I make them join me?...Again with the case of if it brings any benefit to Deudenia then No...other than them being interesting and being Japanese, I have no real reason.

Maybe if they show their worth then I could reconsider. I have yet to see their skills.

Could they have gotten any useful unique skills?

If so then Leon shouldn't just abandon them.

Or he just didn't want it and was too busy sim- *cough* finding his Best friend.

Now onto the Black Bandits case.....*sigh* they're too weak really. Even without me, such a large group of Adventurers with A and B ranks will be enough to capture them.

It might just need some sacrifices though. But now that I am here, I should use this opportunity to show off.

Reaching the carriage by the time My thought acceleration processed all this thoughts. I reiterated everything Robin told me about those Bandits.

'Robin' huh? If he started Robin' the Nobles while wearing a Hood and giving the loot to the poor he might just fit that character.

------

" So the Guildmaster is preparing to counterattack the Bandits?", My inner musings were broken by Riku's question.

"Yes. Are you guys able to handle this?"

Tsuzu, pompously replied to my 'light hearted' question, "Humph! Ofcourse we can! Who do you think you are?!"

" I-see ", I had to discreetly hold Aria with my hand otherwise I don't know what she might spout, just because Tsuzu spoke in such a manner.

Just then the carriage came to a halt signalling that something was happening outside.

*Knock knock*

"Team Kibou? Team Orion? GuildMaster Robin has ask you guys to meet him immediately.", a voice was heard from the outside, stating the reason for the carriage halting.

" We'll be on our way.", Riku replied to the voice for us.

" It seems we might face those guys soon.", knowing what was happening, Haku spoke.

" Before we go down...have you guys ever taken a life before?", I asked. Something which I have less expectations for.

This question made them quite tensed. Don't tell me they have yet to take a life?

Is this the Cliche "we are from a developed world so don't take human lives" trend?

" W-well, you see Armin-san, by now we have only killed monsters and have refrained form taking any quest related to Human killing.", Riku was visibly uncomfortable speaking about taking a life.

" In our world, killing was not something you'd see in your normal life so we were a bit reserved in this aspect.", Haku further explained their mindset and reasonings, as if I won't know the twisted sense of Law and Order in that world.

Where you aren't allowed to hold a firearm for your own but criminals will have in such a number that it feels like they are match sticks.

Where if only all serious crimes were dealt with a hanging then maybe some form of order could be made...

Well this is all a big Ifs, no worth thinking about this.

"I understand your concern, but I must want you. This world is not the one where you have lived. In this world, there is only one true law, The Strong prey the Weak.

Even if you don't want to kill anyone, others won't have the same views as yours. It's best if you change it as soon as possible lest it becomes something you will regret in the future.", Knowing that their mindset might come to bite them back, I explained the difference of this world and the Earth's.

"W-we know."

Riku was a bit startled by my serious lecture but he seemed to understand my words. The determined eyes were a sign of it.

"If it helps then you should know those people are Criminals who are wanted for crimes so gruesome that even in these world people might get disgusted with it."

"*sigh* that's a form of relief i guess.", Said Riku.

" Armin San you are scary.", poking her head form behind Misu, Tsuzu spoke.

" Haha Is that so? I guess I went a bit far then.", To be honest, It will be for the best that they learn this sooner than later.

" No no, you just meant good for us. It is true that our world and this one is not the same and that what applies in the old world won't work here.", Just like a mature person, Misu perfectly Understood my words.

They are surprisingly mature, if anyone was to be in their place they might spout some nonsense like "people die if they are killed" Bullshit.

----

So with their resolve strengthened we headed to the meeting where Guild Master Robin was gonna give out the info of bandits.

Reaching the place, there was already a large tent set up with many groups of adventurers just surrounding it.

??: Only the team leaders are allowed in. The members can rest here.

" Alright.", Riku replied to the guard.

"Stay with them Ari."

"Yes. Armin-san."

Inside the tent almost all the Adventurers team leaders were there, well the top ones really. The C and D ranks were not that important here, so Only A and B ranked were present.

We were the last to arrive here, as we seated ourselves, I noticed all those present here. 2 other A ranked Adventurers team Leader and 10 other B ranked Leaders. Robin started.

" We have stopped here because we have just received a report of the Black Bandits being waiting in ambush a feet kilometres away."

A few gasps was Heard as everyone tried to recall the information of this Particular Bandit Group.

One of the A ranked spoke up.

"GuildMaster, who was the one to report this? As you said, they are a few kilometres ahead and I don't know anyone who can sense a human presence that far."

" It was the Golden Tear group, Karyo.

The leader of the group, Armin here told me."

Gesturing to me, Robin spoke as all the rooms attention shifted towards me.

"It is as GuildMaster Robin has said. We sensed a large group of people ahead and thought about informing Him. Who could have thought they were the Infamous Black Bandits."

As all the gazes were turned towards me, I confirmed Robin's claim.

While Robin looked like normal to anyone around. He is infact a doppelganger from Deudenia, who is imitating him.

I set him up so that my plans could go smoothly, which till now has been going well.

" I am Sorry to interrupt this, but who are you? I have never seen you around.", while I was in my mind, thinking about how to deal with the bandits, one of the Adventurer's team leaders asked me a question.

A largely exaggerated broad chested man in his late 30s sope up in a Gruffy tone. Just his appearance screamed of a Dumb, narcissist guy. But surprisingly he was somewhat polite.

Is it just me or this world is slightly not that cliche as I expected it to be?

[A/N I will Use Armin when Bael is disguised as Adventurer]

"As Robin introduced, my name is Armin. The Leader of a two man team called Gilded Tear. We actually come from the other side of the Jura Forest. So, you obviously hadn't heard of us."

" Beyond the Jura Forest?! How did you guys even crossed it? The Storm Dragon Rules that forest . Oh! And My name is Filguf.", The Gruffy guy introduced.

" Actually we just travelled from the edges of the forest taking the path form the Dwarf Kingdom."

"That makes sense. But it is still amazing you guys came so far here, and managed to pass that Dragon's radar.", Filguf wondered.

"*chuckles* It was nothing special really. The road from the Dwarven Kingdom was safe to travel."

But why did you guys come here? Seeing you are A ranked, you should have stayed in Ingrassia or The Dwarven Kingdom. You might get loads of opportunities to get rich then here.

Karyo, an A ranked Adventurer team's leader asked.

"Well, we wanted to site see the Beaches of the Coralis Kingdom, heard it was a sight to die for.", I came up with a lie based on Gabriel's help in the surrounding kingdom's geography.

" Indeed it is, i visited during one of my quests and it was a sight to behold.", with a slight nostalgic feel in his eyes, Karyo agreed.

" Gentlemen, i think we are getting sidetracked here. The task at hand is more important, then your vacations.", Seeing that things were not going as intended, Robin interrupted our musings.

" *sigh* you're such a mood breaker GuildMaster.", To Robin's Interruption, Karyo threw a light jab at him, while exaggeratedly sighing.

A tick seemed to appear on Robin's head as he spoke through gritted teeth while smiling.

"Well then, as I said we have to deal with those Bandits and I want less casualties which will be difficult given their Leader's strength."

The room became solemn and serious again, nowhere was the Carefree and relaxed atmosphere.

"I believe with just all of us present here, we can deal with those Bandits, it will be of relative ease. But the real problems lies in the Leader. He's an former A+ ranked and it was 12 years ago, we don't know if he has somehow got more powerful or not."

Karyo further disclosed whatever information he knew of the Bandits.

The last of the A ranked group's leader, Milo

Spoke.

" What about we retreat and pass around them?"

"We can't do that, they have a number of almost 500 hundred men, and us moving around them would most probably be noticed by them. If they have not yet targeted us.", Shaking his Head, Robin revealed the infeasibility of the tactic.

" It's strange don't you guys think? For us to encounter them right now of all times as if someone set this all up?", while rubbing his chin, Filguf muttered out loud.

"I also don't know, Filguf. The Kingdom would not be the one responsible for this. They are the ones against these Bandits and cooperation between those two seems unlikely.", Karyo stated.

"But, what if one of those nobles could be doing this?" Milo suggested.

"Then the question will be, why?" Milo said, with doubt in his voice.

" Pondering on this might not yield any results, gentlemen. Should I propose a plan?", I suggested.

"You can Armin-san."

"Let our team deal with the Leader."

"What!? Do you understand that you are only A ranked while he is A+! The difference in strength is too much, don't be stupid boy!"

Oh you don't know how old I am Filguf-san.

Maybe even older than this universe.

I don't really remember my lord really, so it could be true.

" Filguf-san, you should learn to control your emotions. For Armin-san to have crossed the Jura Forest, even if they traveled through the outskirts will require some strength to it backup. I believe they could do it.", Thanks for your trust, Karyo.

I hope you teach Filguf some of you wisdom too.

" Thankyou, Karyo-san. If it relieves you then, I will have the Team Kibou fighting alongside me."

"Team Kibou huh? I have heard many things about you guys. Some say you are a Rising heroes even.", suddenly Milo got interested in this argument.

" *nervous chuckles* It's nothing like that Milo-san. We are just normal Adventurers.", Riku replied Humbly.

"Still, it doesn't diminish the fact that one of you team mates is a user of Holy Magic and two of you are genius user of sword. While the other is a prodigy in Magic.

I believe with you two, it can be managed.",

Karyo stated Riku's team's CV.

"Then, I guess it is settled then. Let us finalize the plans.", seeing that all agreed to my proposed, Robin concluded the meeting.

With that, the roles of who will fight who was given out. As decided, Team Golden Tear and Team Kibou will fight with the Leader of the Bandits and his Direct subordinates respectively. While the rest of A and B ranked will battle the next powerful personal in the Bandit's group. The C, D ranked will deal with whatever was left out.

The Bandit Group , consisted of the Leader and his three direct subordinates who are his former team members. While he was A+ ranked, they were only at peak mid A ranked.

The remaining consisted of only about 50 B ranked group's in ranging powers and the rest of the men was D ranked, most were just only commoners with no real combat capabilities.

The plans for the battlefield was set. And the Designated groups got ready for a battle where they will witness a very shocking scene....

Well, what do you guys think of this chapter?

In my opinion, it's a bit choppy in some parts and I still am having trouble writing the narration and not making it lifeless and repetitive.

If you have any suggestions, your voice is only a few clicks away from me.

See ya in the next chapter.
