22 Chp-22 Adventurers?

Time skip-6 Days later

Bael Pov.

Almost a week has passed since I have acquired this land, which I have named New Orion.

During this period many things have happened. Some welcome and some.... annoying.

First off, as I had expected my estate is not a

Ghost town like Ainz had to go through. Infact only a select few who were 'sympathatic' of the 'great Gildard-Sama' "left" the town.

They mostly came from the personal army Gildard kept who "peacefully went away".

Most were grateful for what I had done. They knew that if the monster had breached the mines, then the first town they'd attack was this one. And hearing that I was the one to save them, they were happy to be under my rule.

As for the Merchants, not much changed form there, I gave the task of dealing with them to Rhombus since as a Marionette Master, he will be a better choice for such things.

Next was the Harem thing...er...I decided to just give them a choice, to go to their family or stay here and work for me.

The Head Wife Lissa and most of them decided to return home since almost all of them were forced to marry Gildard. So they had no attachment to this place.

As for the remaining few, I decided to give them work of minor management, like managing crops of one village each. They were quite happy with it since they were orphans or slaves in the past.

The lands were quite big, so there was almost 15 medium sized Villages scattered around and 30 more small sized ones.

All in all the population was about 50k.

Next was the financial reports, since the Gilded House was a Marquise rank and their territory also covered the major road of the mine, you could say they were loaded.

The treasury was the size of three warehouses and all the corners were filled to the brim with goldcoins, jwellerys and armors. We also found a chest full of Stellar coins.

On the back there was a door which lead to a smaller but spacious rooms where some magic items like necklace, dagger were placed. This must be where the Monster's Bane was kept because of the Armor Stand at the back with the Missing Armor.

And this was where all the good stuff ends. And the annoying stuff begins, first would be the Adventurers. Since the Mutual-aid-Guild was an independent Organisation, subservient to only the western council, It had branches in all nations, even the Holy Kingdom had a branch.

There was a Branch in New Orion too. The Adventurers of which were in better terms not quite appreciative of my, a monster's, rule.

So, some of the B+ ranked Parties gathered and challenged me like I was the final boss of some game.

Huh, as if. I let Aria to deal with them. After that most of the Adventurers who had connections here stayed and all other ran away.

Next came the Nobles. Those nobles who surrounded me by territory and even beyond sent messengers to invite me for a 'tea party' who were promptly driven out by my Dragons flying over the skies.

Oh! And this also helped with patrolling the areas so now the roads are much safer than before, leading to more merchants passing my territory after an initial hickup.

During this time I also talked with the King and we entered an Alliance. Where, If the party were in any need against any national level threat then the other will send help.

I also added a clause where My nation can have trade rights and tax free trades.

This was only onesided because the King knew he had nothing of value to give and I was offering to sell goods to him so it was accepted.

This was the main agreement, there were some small things and loopholes added but let's ignore that part shall we?

-----

Back on track, I implemented some new laws from my old world like giving medicine to old and young and the poor, providing them the food and necessity they need at a low price and many more. Proper sanitation systems and all the cliche stuff that transmigrated MCs will do.

I also made a plan to build high quality roads spanning from the mines to the neighbouring estates. Form there if the Nobles want roads to be built in their territory they have to commission it with price to pay.

Next would be crops, i decided to just summon Druids to help with that, I am not that experienced in agriculture and using magic when you have it is the best way to solve the problem.

Next would be the progress of Death Lands.

With the Undead and Golems created, they started to build a City with Deudenia in the centre. I don't know who will inhibit this place but maybe my future new subjects will.

I also ordered Isabelle to research on the Monster's Bane and to find as many results as she could.

There was also more researchs she was doing on the side like finding alternative method for crafting certain items only found in Yggdrassil.

One of which was magic scrolls, till now we found that the magic scrolls made of the skin of the monsters from the Infestation yields high quality scrolls. And since this was Tensura, the skins of monsters would be more effective than human skins.

This is something which Isabelle is quite proficient in. Given her class in Sorceress and Researcher.

{Lord Bael}

I heard a voice in my mind, a Message, {Yes Aria?}

{The shadow demons you summoned has gathered some intelligence }

Hearing this, I muttered, {Intelligence ?}

{Yes, it seems that the Grand Duke Richard has commissioned the adventurers guild to organise a mass quest of clearing the Wild Forest.}

Hearing the term i once again muttered but this time I didn't say in the message but directly spoke out loud, "Mass Quest?"

Gabriel, senseing my confusion spoke out, [Master, this is a type of quest where multiple Teams group up to complete a given quest or task.]

Understanding what the term meant I said, "Is that so? ", {Aria, tell them to just keep observing from afar. If they are noticed then tell them to retreat, no need to engage}

{Understood my lord}

Adventurers huh?, in the Wild forest. At a large number too. Is this a large scale training excercise? No, probably not. This should be the work of the king, to mobilize such a large number of them would need equally large backing of Money. What is the king planning?

Adventurers...forest...forest has monsters...so most probably monster subjugation...but now? At such a scale?...hmm....ah!!

So that's how it is. The King had decided to offer me this land because he had other plans.

Giving up this real state where the Road to the mine crosses over it, he had a back up for it. Using the Wild Forest as the new road.

The wild forest although smaller than New Orion, had a dense population of monsters.

So it was natural to chose this plain as the main route. Now that a foreign power occupied it, he will ofcourse find other ways.

This being through the forest, but taking into account the monsters, he decided to contract adventurers to do the cleaning.

A good plan indeed.

But I don't know if the King had expected for me to know about it and interfere. Heh, let's see your reaction to my next move King George.

A day later.

3rd Pov

Adventurers Guild, Capital of Gemmera.

The Capital was bustling as usual, with merchants, venders and their customers filling the streets. Occasional carriages passing by with the guards on horses patrolling periodically. It was truly a lively scene.

A similar scene could be seen near the Adventurers Guild, being at the middle of the commerce and noble area it could be said to be the most frequented building in the area.

Many people entered and exited this building , and it was not different today.

Inside the guild, crowd had gathered around a stage where three figures could be seen.

The first figure had broad shoulders and a large build equivalent to the bodybuilders of Earth. His name was Robin, a 45 years old retired A-Rank Adventurer who was now the Guild Master of the Main-Branch of Mutual-aid-Guild in Gemmera.

Beside him was his secretary Ria and next to Robin was the messenger sent by the Grand Duke Richard.

Messenger: Listen well. The King, His highness King George has Decreed that the Adventurers gather to clean the monsters of the wild forest. Of which each will be rewarded for the contributions they make.

The price will range for 10 gold coins to 50, depending on your work.

Gasps and whistles could be heard below the stage as everyone discussed with their parties this opportunity offered.

As a few minutes went by and no sign of silence could be seen.

The Guildmaster impatient that the silence he wanted was yet to be seen stepped up and screamed like an Army Seargent, "Silence! You Brats!"

Eventually a hushed silence fell, everyone in the guild respected Robin not for his age but because of his History as an A ranked adventurer. He had made quite a few legends himself of which he too was proud of.

Happy with the now disciplined crowd be began, "Those parties who wishes to join this quest may sign up at the counter. The leaders will meet up with me at the office.

Let me remind you though, although the reward is enticing, the dangers are equally deadly."

In unison all the Adventurers replied, "We understand GuildMaster Robin!"

The Messenger sent to issue the quest spoke, "Then I shall take my leave, the reward will be sent Tomorrow ."

Robin said, "Very well."

As the messenger left and the crowd dispersed, Ria stepped up and whispered to Robin.

" Sir, doesn't this seems suspicious? It might be dangerous for some of the Adventurers too, too deadly even."

She said this as she looked at the E and D ranked adventurers who were signing up for the quest ignorant of the dangers.

Robin replied to her question, "I have the same thoughts too Ria but there's nothing we can do, the king has issued a quest. And like all the quests, we will just do what it entails.

You should have heard of what happened recently right?"

Understanding what Robin meant Ria replied feeling a slight fear inside her, "Yes, to be honest I still can't forget the fleet of dragons flying over my head. That feeling of oppression, I have never felt like that in my life."

Robin spoke in a serious tone, "hm, even i Felt that, even as an A rank I felt like I wouldn't even be able to fight the dragons much less those people riding it."

Exaggeratedly, Ria exclaimed, "You're joking right?"

Robin reasserted his thoughts , "It's true you know? And now that this body has started to become old, I feel the disparity in strength even more."

Concerned Ria stuttered, "Could....could this be a sign of trouble?"

" I don't know.... I don't even want to think about it....*sigh* how I wish I just could regain my youth and just go around flirting with hot milfs." Replied Robin with a perverted look in his face.

*Chop*

"Ow!!"

" Don't say something like that sir. It will tarnish your reputation." Ria said with a straight face while holding her clipboard with which she hit Robin.

" And how does you beating me in public doesn't do just that? Thank goodness no one's looking here." Rubbing his now small bump on his head, Robin said.

"I believe we should get ready to set out?", Redirecting the topic Ria said.

"Yes, yes let's do that and please stop beating me.", Also wanting to change this embarassing topic, Robin agreed.

"Please stop oogling at Milfs." Even with agreeing, Ari could clearly see where Robin's eyes were fixed on...

"Can't do that, I need some research materials and what better than hot Mil-", spoken like a True certain white haired pervert, Robin was about to say something more but was interrupted by....

*Chop* "ow!" *BONK!* "Aoww!Ria!!"

----------------

Outside the Guild Building.

As the Adventurers gathered, we see that there was one of the groups at the back talking to eachother.

This group consisted of 4 members. Two girls of around the age of 18 and boys of the same age.

The girls were Misu Izuya, a healer and Tsuzu Karugaya a mage.

The boys were Haku Mitodarashi a swordsman and Riku Tomoriki also a swordsman.

They, as the name implied were otherworlders. They were summoned by demon Lord Leon a few years ago. During the summoning each of them had the luck of acquiring one special intrinsic skill each.

But Leon Cromwell, whose goal was to find a certain friend of his deemed them useless so with a lesser elemental each residing in them to make them live long, he sent them on their way.

During the years they had stayed in this world they formed a bond together and decided to form an adventurer team.

They were now a team of A Rank.

If this was any generic Isekai Novel then they would have become the Hero Party of the World who will defeat the Demon King.

But it was only a huge 'IF'. Here, they are nothing more than ants to those Demon Lords. They won't even be able to achieve a Hero Seed in their life time, such was the state of this world. Completely different from the Normal Isekai World.

In this Gathering, only a few groups were A-Ranked Adventurers. Only 4 of them were present there who were of A rank. It was not because more of the A-rank groups didn't want to come, but since they were busy somewhere else, they decided not to.

Compared to the A rank, the number of B-rank groups were 10. If they were to team up and fight together they had the chance of felling a A+ rank Beast.

Now back to our Isekaied-from-Japan-Group. Our 'Heroes' were chatting among themselves as they waited for the call to set out.

Riku as the leader spoke up

" So, do you guys want to join in on this adventure? It's not late to back out yet."

"It doesn't really matter. The only monsters we should be wary of will be the Dire-Tigers. Which I am quite excited to see, the name itself sounds like the Tigers are Albinos. I want to skin their furs and make coat out of them." Another team member, Haku spoke up with a mischievous tone.

Shocked at Haku's unnerving words Misu stuttered, "Eh-ehh? Haku-san you should not say such things."

"Haha, I was just joking Misu-san. Even if we are A ranked those beasts are registered to be A+, i don't think anyone here could kill them." Laughing, Haku replied but ended his words in a serious tone.

" You're right, what about you Tsuzu-san?", Agreeing with Haku, Riku asked their last team member.

"Same for me, I don't mind if we join or not. I only want to fill my stomach after this quest with boar steaks.", The food junkie of the team dreamily replied.

"Can you stop thinking about food for a second?", conflicted if he should be concerned or laughing at Tsuzu's Food addiction, Haku spoke up.

" Why? Food is life! Food is Eternal!", seemingly offended Tsuzu retorted in a fanatical tone.

*SIGH*, seeing her, The rest couldn't help but exhale a large sigh.

--------

As we see our 'heroes?' talk amoung themselves, we see such scenes all over the place.

All those who were smart enough, thought there to be something suspicious about this sudden quest when no monsters have started to make trouble from the forest.

But most just were happy of getting paid heftily of the small work they would do.

Unaware of the dangers of the Forests.

-----

While the Japan-Team were discussing things they noticed a pair of individuals approaching them.

One was a tall figure with Black and Blue mix suit of fullbody enchanted armour. With a long sword behind his back. He was 6feet 8 inches tall about 10 inches more than even Riku, the tallest of the group.

He was followed by a lady who, contrary to the Armoured guy beside her wore relatively normal clothes if you ignore the High quality fabric from which they are made of and that they are enchanted robes.

Their stature, aura and the way they carried themselves made anyone who looked at them long enough, recognise their vast strengths.

Tsuzu whispers, " Um..Riku-San?"

"Right, um Hello. How can we help you?", knowing what Tsuzu meant to say started the conversation with the strangers.

??: Greetings fellow adventurer, I am Armin a A ranked Adventurer, a swordsman and this is my companion Ari, a magic caster.

We were hoping to party up with you guys since we are quite new to this country you see.

Tsuzu, clearly curious asked, "Oh? Why so?"

"Tsuzu-san it's rude to ask others of their personal business!", In a true Japanese fashion, Misu chided Tsuzu for her impoliteness.

"Oh!! sorry!", sheepishly Tsuzu apologised.

" It's fine anyways. Actually we come from a far away place. We came here Because we heard of a Demon Lord coming here. We were just interested to see them. It's not everyday you see a Demon Lord you know?", undeterred, Armin asked.

"It's true but, I hate to disappoint you but all the major events have finished. He now controls the territory near the forest we will be going to in a few moments.", thinking for a moment,Riku replied.

"I see. It's a bit unlucky then." , Armin said in a straight tone.

While Armin was thinking of something with his hands rubbing his chin. Misu gave Riku a nudge with her elbow. Riku understanding the signal spoke up.

"Oh! We haven't introduced ourselves yet. Sorry about that. My name's Riku Tomoriki the leader of the team."

"Names Haku Mitodarashi. I am a Swordsman. Nice to meet you guys." With his hands behind his back Haku Introduced.

" I am Tsuzu Karugaya, the mage, nice to meet'ya.", with her cheeky and cheery tone Tsuzu replied.

"And I am Misu Izuya, the healer. Please take care of us.", Giving a proper bow, Misu completed the introduction.

" Then, once again, I am Armin and she is Ari. It's nice to meet you guys too."

*Robotic* End....of .... chapter.

So!! Who is this new guys who showed up to our 'heroes'? Are they Good or bad? Find out in the next chapter!

Also, in accordance to some of the requests , I have started to change how I will be writing dialogues, and tbh I feel this kinda improved the chapters.

But seriously, writing with the narration style of "this guy said this and that" is kinda hard for someone with limited vocabularies.

Feelings like I am repeating it....we'll nevermind!, I'll see you guys next chapter..
