Ch 4 : The mission

After that conversation the Silence spread all over everyone's face and there was no sound in whole court.

After it Karthik looked at the bottle of beer in his hand and said "King, my beer finished, Send someone to get me more beer."

On it the prime minister got furious and Sai arrogantly "You are asking the honourable king to bring you beer, who you think of yourself, you are just a lowly adventurer and you need to be thankful that king is overlooking your rudeness and rude behaviour."

Karthik crushed the beer bottle in his fist and then caught prime minister neck and lifted him in air and said fiercely "Lowly human, don't forget you are standing in front of a Demi-god, not only you but I am only enough to destroy your this small kingdom in minutes."

The king then told Karthik to stop and told to servent to bring beer for Karthik and after it Karthik left prime minister and started drinking beer again.

The king said "I want you to protect my daughter, And I'll give you anything that you will ask, money, position anything you will ask"

Karthik continued drinking when king is talking and after not getting attention from him the king fiercely said "Can you stop drinking for sometime, we are talking here on a serious matter"

Karthik finished beer and then threw it away and said "I don't want money, I don't want position. I want beer and a lot of beer. The most precious beer."

The king then said "okay, I'll give you as much as beer you want. But can you garanty the protection of my daughter?"

Karthik then smilingly pressed his first finger between his teeth and said "ofcourse, Anything for beer. I'll protect her as long as the supply of beer will not stop. You can count on me."

The king then look behind and then a girl in a beautiful long gown with a mask in face came out from behind the curtains walking elegantly as like a princess. Her eyes was really blue like blue ocean and looking quite beautiful but Karthik felt anything.

The king said "She is my daughter Riana, and you have to protect her. And for your help I'll keep you company of hundred royal guards and Udit with also come with you. You all have to reach country Valmora as soon as possible because demons will not go there sooner."

Karthik then look at Udit and Riana and Udit was looking at princess and he is not feeling good at all. Karthik then said "I have some conditions, 1. Nobody will bother me during my free time at evening and night and 2. I can drink as much as I want and 3. I'll think later. Come on prepare your stuff. And say goodbye to eachother."

The king looked at the princess and smiled like he is not worried for her more but as her father he is still worry for her. The princess didn't say anything and just left with her maids. The royal guard Udit also felt bad and hopeless because the thoughts of battle were popping out in his mind.

Karthik didn't care about it and said "Valmora! So when we are leaving for Valmora?"

The prime minister came ahead and gave a map to Karthik and said "You have to go Valmora by following this route marked on map. First you have to reach valley of ancient war, then you have to cross Holy stream river, then you have to cross Starlight forest and then the final and most difficult destination. You have to cross Mist mountain range and after it you will reach the border of Valmora. At the main entrance the queen of Valmora will be waiting for you to reach there. From there th princess will be safe and then you will be free from the mission. "

Karthik's gaming system scanned the map and ready a holographic image of that map so Karthik can find safe route and gain details of all terrains. While looking at the holographic map Karthik noticed something weird in the route but he didn't tell anyone. He just closed the map given by prime minister and put it in his leg pocket.

The king then said "Because you accepted the task so, You can take any two items from the royal treasury. Udit will show you the way"

Udit greeted and then started showing the way to Karthik. Karthik waved his hand to tell bye to king. While walking towards treasury Karthik said in teasing tone "Well, you really have a good eye, the princess is really beautiful and elegant."

Udit didn't reply and just kept walking, Karthik felt slightly angry and going to hit him but suddenly Udit stopped and said "Sir, I don't have enough strength level to call myself an opponent for you but if you think bad or bad mouth princess then I'll not stand back and will kill you"

Udit's eyes were full of killing intent and his body is emitting Golden aura and Karthik can see the aura because of his divine vision. He felt is strange so then he decided to investigate his body organisation and he used his vision and system help to study Udit's body.

While checking the internal body structure of Udit, Karthik found a strange core in central point of his chest that was quite similar to Karthik but their element is different. Karthik have core of Golden and dark which indicates the powers of good and evil means dark and divine powers.

Karthik put the beer in virtual inventory and didn't ignore this fact. Soon they reached treasure hall where Udit showed his ID to treasury guard and then both entered. Inside the hall Udit talks with treasury manager and then came near Karthik and said "Everything is done. You can choose any two items."

He started walking in hall while looking for something that he can use as a evolution ingredient. while walking Karthik stopped near an ancient book placed on soft pillow wrapped in red silk cloth.
