1 week later

As most would expect, Kaede and the unimportant part of the team 7 arrived at the academy for the chunnin exams.

walking through the academy halls as they made their way to the third floor, the trio noticed a agglomeration of people at the second floor.

"Hey you all, 6 feet apart, social distancing now!" Screaming Naruto sai... wait wrong script

*Flips pages*

Just a second... ah here

*clears throat*

The trio quickly noticed a lot of people surrounding a the door of class 201.

And yes, all three of them saw the room as 201

Sasuke could notice since he awoke his sharingan while fighting Haku

Kaede had a minor illusion immunity because of her skill [Illusionist]

And Naruto was a GOD DAMN JINCHURIKKI, that should be completely immune to genjutsus since to put him in a genjutsu, it would need to be strong enough to disperse Kurama's chakra that kept leaking from the seal into Naruto's own chakra system...

"Why are they trying to enter class 201?" Naruto asked

"Hey, drop this genjutsu, we all here know that such petty tricks don't work on anybody, so you two better let us through"

Sasuke said, while trying to act cool

'Let us through? to room 201 or what? the corridor to the third floor is empty... dumbass...' Kaede thought

Some things happened, the two mob chunnins made a speech about how the chunnin exams were dangerous and they were saving people by blocking them there.

Smirking internally, Kaede decided to do what she considered a 'tiny prank' and said

"But we, as ninjas from Konoha, can't believe in our safety when the exams are hosted in our own village? is that some kind of joke?"

A simple sentence, but for the simple minded idiots that barely made to the gennin rank and where desperately trying to achieve the chunnin rank, as if receiving a title would make them stronger... who do they think they are? Han Jee Han?

for those idiots, that sentence ignited the will to do something stupid, though Kaede's [Illusionist] skill may or may not have something to do with that...

As team 7 was making its way towards the third floor, they were stopped by a spandex wearing freak

"Hey you! Are you perhaps Kaede Uchiha?"

"I am... do I know you?" Though Kaede recognized Lee, she never interacted with him before

"My name is Rock Lee, and I would like to ask you to give me the honor of going out with you?" Lee said as he made strange poses throughout his entire sentence, ending in a one knee stand while holding a flower in his hands

Silence befell the corridor, as everyone looked at the scene with incredulously evident on their faces

"...No" Kaede cut through the strange atmosphere with a straight answer

"Gaaah" It was a critical hit on Lee

"Why not?" he asked

"... I don't even know you, asking someone out without even knowing them is creepy, you creep"

Every word fell on Lee's ears as if they where full powered punches from his sensei, with the last part of the sentence literally making him drop to his knees in complete and utter defeat

Ignoring the almost crying boy on the ground, team 7 continued on their way just to be yet again stopped by Lee when they arrived at the third floor

"Wait! You are Uchiha Sasuke aren't you?" he asked

"What? he is going to ask Sasuke out now?" Kaede asked with a confused face, to add salt to the injury

Both Sasuke and Lee almost tripped on air when they heard Kaede's words

"What?!"

"That's not it!"

By the side, Lee's teammates were observing everything, the girl was giggling at the funny scene while the boy was staring intently at the two Uchihas that were considered geniuses with his white, almost soulless eyes.

Recomposing himself, Lee said what he was there to say in the first place

"I challenge you Sasuke Uchiha to a duel for Kaede chan's affection!"

As if his terrible clothing style wasn't enough, Lee also started saying the most embarrassing things out loud to prove that he has no salvation.

"Stop wasting our time" Kaede said, once again hitting Lee where it hurt... on the heart? No... on the ego

"Yeah, as if you coul-" Sasuke once again tried to act cool but Kaede cut his stupidity short

"As if Sasuke stood a chance"

"What?!" Sasuke exclaimed, almost tripping on air once again

"C'mon, I never saw this freak on the academy, which means he graduated at least a year before us, and it doesn't matter how good we were in the academy, we that had only one c-ranked mission, are already way stronger than our past selves that just graduated from the academy.

Now think about this freak who did who know how many c-ranked missions over his more than a year as a gennin? that isn't fair at all!

Let's go, we are running out of time"

If you think Kaede stopped Lee from thrashing Sasuke because she cared about him, that would be a dumb assumption, since Kaede just doesn't want Sasuke or Naruto to grow as fast as in the cannon since she knows that one day they will be enemies.

Though she couldn't do anything during the wave mission without putting a 'Root come after me' outdoor above her head, she need to do everything that she can in more controlled scenarios.

Team 7 left Lee there, at the verge of tears because he was called a freak and went to the room

(A/N: holy freak, I just noticed that I wrote over 900 words and didn't even start the first exam yet!)

After a brief conversation with Kakashi at the door of the exam place, team 7 entered the door.

They were greeted by an army of NPC's that were programmed to show hostility to anyone who entered through that door.

Kaede feeling their weak attempt at intimidation using their pathetic presences could barely contain her laugh

Deciding to give them something to remember she infused a tiny bit of chakra with a lot of will to pressure them, a ability she learned after studying fuinjutsu for a while, since it depended a lot on will and meaning of the words.

<Affirmative.

Acquiring skill [Intimidation]... complete>

'Oh... it's been a while since I got a skill without using [predator]...'

While she was remembering the last time she gained a skill in such a way, she forgot to turn her newly acquired [Intimidation] skill off, giving a constant pressure to everyone around her

She only noticed and turned the skill off, when she saw a weakling faint because of it.

'Oops...'

After a brief moment, when Kabuto tried to talk with Sasuke and Naruto and got beat by some sound side character nins, the proctor of the first exam finally arrived to start the exams
