As soon as Luna opened that door... she saw a nightmare

the nightmare of any kage out there, to be more precise

piles upon piles of papers filled with insane amounts of things they would need to read through...

fortunately, they didn't need to read every single paper, and some also got big drawings that seemed to mean something that no one but the people who wrote know what it is

Luna had cold sweat flowing from her back like a river

'GOSH DANG IT! WE JUST FINISHED READING THOSE STUPID MEDICAL BOOKS AND NOW THAT?!'

She cursed up to the nth generation of whoever wrote all those papers as Naruto looked at the papers oblivious as he always was... or maybe distracted as his gaze was a bit unfocused...

Sometime later

How much time? I don't know... those papers are so boring I got sleepy and lost the time... so... like... sorry?

Naruto and Luna read through a LOT of old documents, historical texts and such, some papers seem to have things from even before the foundation of Konoha written on it

But since I am a good guy, I will resume the most important part here for you guys, thank me later

The Kurama clan has been forgotten, but they didn't forget, was one of the most repetitive things they read, maybe once every 2 or three papers, and by the number of papers... that's a whole lot

Here is how it went according to the papers:

According to old Kurama clan members, the Kurama clan is as old as the well-known Uchiha and Senju clans, having its origins roughly at the same time as them

and just like them, it was a clan hardened by wars and conflicts

The biggest war of the clan was a three-way war with the Uchiha and Senju clans, but, during a battle, Izuna Uchiha killed the patriarch of the Kurama clan who allied with the Senju after

unfortunately, their weak bodies didn't let them participate in the important battles, and worst still, is that their genjutsus started to have less and less effect on the uchihas that gradually started to get used to it

their downfall was imminent, and as such, they made a permanent alliance with the Senju clan

from here on, the history didn't change from what the books of Konoha told us, just that the Kurama clan was the very first clan to join Konoha after it was founded

but, since the clan had been useless in the war, and subjected itself to the Senju clan, their history was never told

Maybe cruel, but at the time it was an act of goodwill if the Senjus, to hide such a humiliating past

But, the Kurama clan was not done, as it saw the Senju clan disappear, they had to do something

if such a strong clan can disappear, what about the not even know Kurama clan?

So they resorted to a drastic change

using old knowledge of an era before the foundation of Konoha, they started to make experiments with their Kekkei genkai...

they asked the Uzumaki clan to help them with seals

they asked Orochimaru, before he was exiled, to help them with genetics and such things

they also asked Danzo, the leader of the root for help in exchange for some of their most talented entering his root

oh what a mistake that was, none of those geniuses survived too long at the organization, and as such the clan slowly but surely doomed itself to disappear, just like the Senju... just Like the Uzumaki...

But at least, they could, not so proudly say that they outlasted the Uchiha and Senju clans

"That's very surprising..." Naruto commented, he learned the history of Konoha

it was boring, very much so... but Hiruzen said that if he learned everything he would earn a ramen, so he did it in record time

"Danzo? what a weird name..." Luna immediately pointed out, she heard of Uzumakis, one was beside her afterall

she heard of Orochimaru, he was famous, the sannin, nukenin, snak man, etc

But she has never heard of any root organization, neither anyone called Danzo

"Danzo... not gonna lie, this name sounds like some sort of joke...

you have been Danzoozled or something..." Naruto commented

"Ehh... now that you say it... maybe it is just a joke... but.. Danzoozled? really? that's the best you could come up with?" Luna asked with a weird face

"Uh... do you have a better one?" Naruto asked as he scratched the back of his head

Which is weird... I never saw anyone do that in embarrassment IRL... moving on

The experiments

Something that the Kurama clan took pride in, was their Kekkei genkai, while their Genjutsu might be useless against dojutsu users, the same cannot be applied to their Kekkei Genkai

the sheer fact that it can affect reality is undoubtedly incredible, that is also why Orochimaru accepted to help them, same for Danzo

but while Orochimaru tried to understand the intricacies of the ability, Danzo tried to brainwash some loyal subordinates with said kekkei genkai, and tried to implant dojutsus on them, to make a real killing machine

immagine a Kurama with a Sharingan? one look and bam, you dead

but that proved to be impossible, the Yin oriented Kurama clan, acquiring a Yin oriented Sharingan? their weak Yang (Bodies) couldn't handle it, and so they died

Danzo progressively lost interest, and Orochimaru was soon exiled from Konoha

it all seemed like those experiments would be a complete failure until one day... 3 kids showed promising results

Yakumo Kurama, the daughter of the clan leader, showed a kekkei genkai so powerful they had to keep her locked because she couldn't control it

Obviously, you can't control your power? I won't teach you how, no... Instead, I will lock you up until you learn how to do it by yourself!

That's a very smart way of doing things...

Yue Kurama, she seemingly had no problem in using her powers... none of that double personality taking over, like many of their clan... she had a completely fine 'relationship' of some sort with her other self

and Karyu Kurama, A boy who even though he had awakened the kekkei genkai, he also had a strong body, meaning their weak body problems could be solved

the experiments immediately discarded everyone else and focused on those 3

fusing their good physical strength, the insanely powerful kekkei genkai, and perfect control of that said kekkei genkai, their clan could reach a new apex! they could become Konoha's number one clan, dwarfing that sad Hyuga clan, and living up to the legacy they had...

unfortunately... it all went downhill when some important people that worked on that died, some on the Kyuubi attack, some by Yakumo's losing her control

It seemed that the Kurama clan wasn't destined to greatness... they just got a light of hope, just for it to be extinguished right in front of them

but what made the clan give up completely, was the death of Karyu, seemingly suicide

no one knows why he did so, and the last person that saw him alive was his sister, Yue, who seemingly had memory loss

Naruto held to the paper while a bit absent-minded, the previous situation still had some effects on him, even if he didn't want to show

lucky for Luna, though

as he couldn't notice her expression at that moment

the last words of her brother echoed through her mind as she gripped her fists so hard her knuckles turned white

' ' Don't cry... be strong... they need... you...' '

She never understood what he meant, and never understood why he did that, but now... she still didn't, but she was closer to

Karyu started to ask weird questions, and seemingly out of nowhere, Kasumi Kurama, the head of the research team said he was acting strangely in her presence, and he weirdly never asked anyone but her those questions

"...Kasumi..." Luna memorized this name, she had questions, too many of them

and she needed answers

and now... she knew who had them
