1 The First Day

As I walk the halls of the school I'm a stranger I start to relax. I'm currently on a mission from her majesty the Empress of the Shadow Empire. I'm at the university of Iron Wood to gather info on the Grand mage who runs the school. I'm check if he's a threat to the empire and if he's planning to work with the Sun Empire to attack. If he's a threat I'm to take the proper action and assassinate him or cripple him so he can't use magic. Which I would normally feel bad about but he's an asshole who feel that humans are the supper race. Which being makes this even harder considering I'm half Dark elf and half High elf. So I have the ability to use shadows like the dark elf but I'm also crazy good at nature magic but that also means I have no ally's in the elf's and probably none in most other races considering Dark elf's are one of the most hated races. I'm glad to do this assignment for her Majesty because I own her my life for buying me from the slavers. I shake myself out of my thoughts and briskly walk to my first class.

As I'm sitting through Intro to Magic I begin to realize how lucky I am to be born with duel affinity. I'm the one of two in my whole class who can use multiple types of magic. The other person is a girl named Lyia who has an affinity for Both ice and lightning.

My day is basic stuff for a first year go to orientation test your magic capacity and affinity, then get your schedule. My schedule consists of intro to magic which I'm leaving right now then a specialty class for both my affinity's. Then I another class which I picked spell manipulation. I'm not going to try and blend in and gather info as it comes forcing it will only lead to problems.

I step into my nature specialization class and am blown away by the amount of different plants there are. The professor and big burly guy who's bald steps in front of the class. "So I'm get right to the point go hug a tree tell the end of class then tell me what you felt". There's a lot of grumbling but we all get up and head towards the many kinds of trees. I pick a massive silver oak which I can't even get my arms half way around so I'm mostly just leaning on it. I understand why we're doing this activity it's to make us get tuned with nature. So I lay on top of this massive tree tell I feel a stick smack me in the back of the head. So I turn and here's this dirty blonde boy with freckles everywhere.

"What do you want" I yell. "I wanted to hit you with a stick you no good Drow" he reply's. "Welp this isn't worth my time I'm go back to sleep" so I lay back down on the tree and close my eyes again. "So your going to sleep on a tree like a normal elf. To bad your a half breed so you should sleep on the ground" so he shoves me in the side and I fall off the tree. It's not high up only a good or so but it's kind of irritating. I think about retorting or fighting back but I decide it's not worth putting myself on the Grand Mages radar if I'm not already in it. So I walk towards a different tree and lay down. A couple minutes later class is over so I head to lunch.

Lunch is served in a massive cafeteria filled with people selling many different foods. I decide to just eat so kind of burger. I sit by myself in the corner where it's hard to see me. I'm sitting there for a while tell a fireball flys towards my head so I instinctively have use shadow magic to build a barrier in front of me with solid shadows. I have the barrier open so I could see who my attacker is. It's the same blond haired boy the messed with me earlier but this time he's followed by a group of other students. He's got patting a boy who's wearing bright red everything on the shoulder saying stuff like good shot. Then he turns back to me and his smile turns into a smirk as he raises his hand and throws it down like a commander and all the students around him start firing the most basic spells from there respective affinity's. I close the barrier and decide I should escape sense the barrier probably won't howls very long so I melt into the shadows and dart around the cafeteria tell I'm outside then I step out of the shadows and he'd towards a spot a little out of sight. Then I sit down and watch people for the rest of lunch.
