Being The New Girl

I WATCHED IN HORROR AS I HEARD THAT PEOPLE WERE BEING MURDERED, AND BY NONE OTHER THAN MY PARENTS! I WAS SO EMBARRASSED AS EVERYONE IN THE ORPHANAGE TURNED TO LOOK AT ME. OMG! THIS WAS AWFUL. AT LEAST THEY WERE ARRESTED NOW, RIGHT? WRONG!

Being the new kid at school is never easy. But if you were in my shoes, you would call it a nightmare. It all started when my naive parents decided that they would turn to violence to get what they want. It was not supposed to reach far but long story short, they are now nationally famous to be serial killers. So you all are probably wondering, OH MY GOD her parents are serial killers so she must be one as well. Well, no it is not like that. I ran away and got into an orphanage as soon as I found out what my parents were up to. Now, I know that sounds a bit "sus" but it's true.

I was terrified when the coordinator of the orphanage told me that I would be going to a new high school. It took me so long to convince everyone here that I was not like my parents now I have to go through all that again! You see, I was always the odd one out, ever since I was born, not special, not unique but odd. As soon as I turned 1 year and 6 months old I could walk and talk properly. I could read fluently even with big words at 2 years old and now I am in the 10th grade at age 13.Now you all are probably wondering ' what is this girl talking about? ' Well I know you all think I am special but the way people treat me, it just does not seem like it. So my life is really bizarre.

Now that I was famous throughout the whole Americas; not in a good way; it was very hard for me to fit in anywhere without someone yelling "OMG! That's the serial killers' daughter". This also caused everyone to avoid me and opt not to talk to me. And now this!

I just sighed and turned away.

One week later, it was time for me to start the new school. I was so nervous but part of me was a bit excited. As I walked down the hallway on the first day everyone stared at me just as I expected, and they all started whispering; I also expected that, but what I did not expect is for a girl to run up to me and ask,

"Jesse, right?"

"Uh- Yes" I answered as shocked as a mouse.

She pulled me to class where we were the first to be there. And there she said something unexpected.

"Look, I believe that you are not like your parents and I can help you convince everyone of that. Just stick with me I promise, you'll be ok. Do you trust me?"

I was surprised! She was the only and first person to believe me. Of course, I said yes, however it was a bit weird. But what did I have to lose?

" Great! Oh, I almost forgot I'm Paige nice to meet you, Jesse!"

"Nice to meet you too Paige."

And that day I met my best friend. Paige was medium height and really beautiful. She had long brunette hair. She had all the boys to her feet because her beauty was so breathtaking but she didn't give them her attention, well of course she smiled at them every once in a while but she had different intentions. She had really big plans to go to college so this 10th grader had obligations. And guess what? She is also 13! Can you believe it? Turns out we have a lot in common.

We hung out every chance we had everyday. I was really enjoying my life until something messed it all up. I found out that my parents were coming to my school for a parents teacher consultation. Seriously! How could they do this to me? I knew they disliked me because of my parents, but I never thought they would stoop that low! They knew that people would hate me because of this even more than they already do. Look I know this sounds crazy to you guys it was to me also. But they weren't kidding, they did come and I will never forget this day January 17 2015, my parents, there they were in the principal's office talking about my grades. I felt defeated, lied to, betrayed.....

I felt alone.

I sat there, between my parents.... police and soldiers crowding the small office and my mind elsewhere. Somewhere, where it was wondering how rich this school was and how much money they had to probably pay just to make me look like a criminal, so much just to get revenge on my parents, so much to get revenge on... me.

And if you were asking, yes, my parents were embarrassed they just said 'mhm' and 'nice' and 'ok' to everything and by the looks on their faces they really did not mean it. I felt disgusted sitting beside them and they knew it. How could they do this the world? How could they do this to America? How could they do this to themselves? How could they do this to me? If you have not figured it out already well....

I HATE MY PARENTS!

Yeah you heard me right, I hate them. They took the lives of so many people and for what, to end up in prison anyway. Don't they love themselves? Those criminals were the same people literally raising me saying that in order to love others you must love yourself. They even taught me to set example. So now, I would like to know where was that example from them to be set by my parents or should I say 'ex parents'. I can never look at those people the way I used to anymore. I cannot believe I thought that those maniacs loved me. I have so many questions and I don't think they have answers.

After that awful experience, I was heading back to the orphanage. I saw Paige but I tried my best to avoid her because I thought that since she saw me with my parents with her own eyes, she'd never want to talk to me or be my friend anymore, but to my surprise she ran up to me and hugged me so tightly I could hardly breath. She saw that I was suffocating so she let me go.

" Why are you avoiding me?" she asked angrily.

" I just thought that you would not wanna be my friend anymore since you saw my parents for yourself so I didn't bother to embarrass myself." I answered shakily.

" Oh Jesse, typical Jesse. Jesse Radcliffe I am literally here to help you with your parents. Didn't that hit your mind when you thought you should avoid me?"

I could not answer. I just hugged her and mumbled...

" Thank you, Paige."
