George Street. The place to be any weekend, anyone who is anyone was here. That’s where I first saw him, he looked up at me with those bright green eyes and I could swear he could see my soul. I was no longer on earth I was floating. He was smirking at me now and that way the melted my heart it was almost as though we could tell what I was thinking. Who was this boy? Where has he come from? And why, why can I not stop thinking of him?

Meeting

"I think you'll find, it's your turn!" Sophie was nearly yelling at me from across the table. She always did this. It was her turn to buy the drinks, her idea to come here and now she wants me to pay.

We have been best of friends since pre-school, I loved her like a sister and so did my family. I couldn't help but laugh at her as she stumbled closer to me staggering on the way. We were only seventeen but it's not like the pubs here cared about that. I guess it was only a year younger than we should have been to be out drinking. You could do anything in this small little town. It is not like anyone cared, not really. Apart from if the police found out or if you made a nuisance of yourself. We did this every Friday after school, We'd all go to hers or they'd come to mine and we'd get dressed up and hit the pub. I was working an early morning Saturday job just to be able to afford it. Sophie didn't have a job yet but it was okay I didn't mind paying for a drink here and there anyway her parents gave her money. Not that she didn't want to work but her parents had the opportunity to give her what she wanted. I needed a drink, I was getting bored.

"Okay, okay. I'm gonna go to the bar right now!" I said as she just about reached me. I put my hand on her shoulders to steady her. "You go rack up and I'll bring the drinks" I told her. I loved playing pool and I was about to kick her arse, especially in an hour or so when the drinks where flowing. I got back to the table with shots and drinks and found Sophie telling Jess about her new victim.

"Sorry but he was a sex god!! He made me feel things no one has" I laughed at the actions she made while she reminisced the scene. Her blonde hair was swishing in her pony tail. "He we are girls! Drinks up" I smiled as I placed the tray on the table and the shots were gone in three.

I was starting to feel tipsy and the pub was soon filling. Jess passed me as I took a shot on the pool table and succeeded in winning against Sophie. The old mahogany pool table creaked and moaned as the black ball sank into the heart of its chamber. When you peered through the side you could see only my colours and Sophie was glaring at her pool queue about to blame her lacking skills on the piece of wood. I was laughing at her facial expression when the music changed and her favourite song came on.

With one swift movement she was stood on the table shouting the lyrics at the top of he lungs. "Josie! Don't you dare just stand there! Get up here girl!' I laughed and with some help from a giggling Jess I was on the table with her. It wasn't long till the staff came and shouted for us to get down. Barb the landlady was fighting a smile as she walked away. Thing is the town was so small you knew everyone and everyone knew you. There's no secrets here everybody is in each other's business and no doubt mum would hear of my behaviour before the night would end. But I didn't care I was drunk and having the time of my life.

I needed to pee or be sick, I'm not sure which one so I went to the bathroom and sat there for a while the whole time the stall spinning and me nearly falling off the lavatory. After peeing and settling my stomach I realised I was thirsty. My body was probably craving water but I went to the bar. Sophie was talking to Nick a boy she's been lusting over for the past few months, he was stringing her along if you ask me and I'd tried my hardest to make her see it but she was smitten and I feared how he would pain her at some point but should he do so, I would be there.

Nick wasn't my type he was quite short and although athletic I didn't like the way his features stayed the same no matter how he felt. If he was happy same face, if he was mad same face. I found him boring and quite frankly didn't get the attraction. I pressed my eyes closed as I handed over the money for the round. I didn't get Jess anything as she'd already gone home. Never lasted the night that one, I thought and chuckled to myself. I asked for a tray and went about my mission to get to the table.

The others where sat in a booth just a couple of steps from the bar floor. The burgundy leather seating had seen better days and if you weren't careful to check you end up sat in something sticky. It's best not to think of what it was. The pub itself was big, very large actually but old dated and often I dreamt that if I owned it then it would be completely modernised and people of all ages would enjoy their time here. During the day the pub served food but nine times out of ten it was empty, it seemed to come alive at night. The lights were dim yellow and without the disco lights the pub was probably quite scary.

I approached the table and realised I was struggling to get through all the girls that were in the way. It seems like every girl in Cadilay was here surrounding the the table opposite of ours. Nick had seen my approach and shot off quick, He knows I'm on to him and never stays if I'm around. Sophie was surrounded by girls too, no one we were particularly friends with just acquaintances really but we always gathered on a Friday and laughed the night away. In that second I was barged along my seat, infuriated I looked up to see who the menace was. It was jade a girl from school that me and the girls didn't get on with. She was stunning. Bright blue eyes, chestnut hair and legs for days. But that wasn't what made me dislike her, it was her attitude and the way she acted as though the world owed her everything and more.

"Jade! What is your bloody problem you idiot!" I exclaimed wiping my drink from my face. It has splashed over me when she shoved me. "Oh, sorry." She said and I realised she was in some kind of trance. Before I knew it I was facing her shaking her telling her everything would be okay. It was obvious she'd been spiked. Why else did she have those googling eyes and massive pupils? "Get off me you bloody weirdo!" She snarled at me while trying to look past me.

That's when I saw him. Sat in the booth next to gormless Nick was the most beautiful boy I'd ever seen. I lowered myself and sat next to jade, I was probably staring the way she did. The light flecked off his short conker colour hair and reflected hints of red. His bright caramel eyes shimmering like pools in the dark. In that moment he looked up and caught my gaze and I looked away with the embarrassment of being caught. I decided I needed another peek, he was smirking. Was that at me? Or the fact all these other girls where doing same? I decided on the latter as I got up and moved to the bar, I needed a drink after our eyes locked. I was stood there trying to order when I realised I couldn't get him out of my head. I wanted to turn again and see him, take in all his features and absorb his in denying beauty. He was gorgeous and I didn't who he was or where he came from.

This cannot be happening? I know everyone here. That's probably why jade and her gang of cronies are all hanging off him. He was new. It was like that from time to time. Someone else shows up and their treated like a shiny new toy. I sneaked another peek behind me and just as I turned he matched my gaze, with a blink of an eye I could have sworn he winked at me.

Hey loves. This is the first book I’ve ever wrote, if you enjoy please show it some love. Thank you so much!
