9 Thanos vs the Avenger (1)

Thanos looked around the place and he couldn't help but feel nostalgic because of the modern surroundings even though it was only just a few days since he arrived in this world.

However, he could not feel that nostalgic as his senses were assaulted by different sensations. There was a sense of catastrophe in the air which was only amplified by the bleak sight of the surroundings.

The smell of burnt tires, ash, and blood filled his nose. The temperature was searing hot as the humidity was low, it was due to the many burning buildings and explosions all around.

The sounds of crying and screaming never subsided in the ruined city. But they were not as worrying as the sound of gunshots and screeches of aliens.

Thanos looked around the place with an evil smile on his face, he could almost taste death in the air.

Not that he was a psychopath who loved chaos, but the natural expression of his face was just an evil grin. Kind of like a resting bitch face. 

It was then that Captain America and Thor finally reached close enough to see the headless corpse of Iron Man lying beside Thanos' feet.

The two paused in their spot, Steve stared at the armored corpse in utter disbelief and deep sadness in his eyes.

Thor on the other hand had his eyes on Thanos as he gave a death glare to the Titan. Thor huffed like an angry beast while his grip on Mjolnir tightened until his knuckles became white.

"Who are you?" Thor all but growled as he slowly approached Thanos. Steve followed not long after as his face hardened to form a stoic mask that hid anger.

Thor was aware of who Thanos was, he was one of the most famous beings in the universe. But he asked who he was because it did not make sense for The Mad Titan to come to Earth himself. He could be an imposter or someone else.

"Hello there." Thanos said while expertly twirling his spear before he hit the ground with the end of the spear.

He gave a grin, "I am the final boss."

His deep rumbling voice held an amused touch as he addressed the two heroes. Thor and Steve stopped 10 meters away from Thanos, they were tired and worn out so they were hesitant to engage the new enemy.

They were also stalling as they waited for Natasha to close the portal, they would be a bit at ease when they knew the enemy could no longer have reinforcement.

Thanos knew this so he said, "You can wait for the whole day but the portal wouldn't be closing. My army would not be stopped, earthling."

Steve slowly reached for his earpiece as he spoke while maintaining eye contact with Thanos in the distance.

"Come in Natasha." He said but got a reply from a new voice, [I'm afraid the woman is unavailable at the moment.]

Just as slowly, Steve put his hand down and clenched his fist. His breathing slowed down as his muscles tensed up, ready for a fight.

Thor on the other hand picked up a different thing from Thanos' statement, 'My army' he said, so that means he was indeed Thanos.

"Thanos!! What are you doing here? Midgard is under the protection of the All-Father." Thor threatened

Thanos let out an amused chuckle while shaking his head in response. He recalled what he remembered from the movies.

The Bifrost, the main transporation of the Asgardian was broken from the battle between Thor and Loki. Odin was only able to send Thor here on Earth using dark energy.

So it was safe to say that Odin would not be interfering and would prefer to avoid conflict against him. But that was if he did not try to kill either of his sons, Thanos deduced.

"Your father has gone senile and weary as time pass." Thanos said while whipping his spear in the air in a display of mastery. He was still awed by his own skill.

But it was also a display of strength as the spear whipped through the air and caused small hurricanes strong enough to blow off rocks.

"You are helpless, young prince." He said with a victorious smile.

But then everyone stopped as their head snapped towards their left. A giant explosion and movement were heard before a muscular green beast came charging toward Thanos.

Hulk had no intention of running in peace as he flipped cars with a swipe of his hand and the ground he was running cracked with each step he took.

*ROAR!!!!*

With a deafening roar that silenced everything, Hulk reached Thanos and threw a huge right hook that had enough strength to crush a mountain.

The air exploded with strength as Hulk's fist launched at Thanos in a green blur. Thanos took a wide step to lower his center of gravity before holding up one hand to block Hulk's fist.

Hulk's punch met the palm of Thanos' hand as the shockwave spread out from the impact. The ground was traumatized as a deep crater formed beneath their feet.

*Boom!!*

The air churned as unparalleled strength met a Titan. Ultimately, Huilk's punch was stopped.

Just like that.

Steve gasped in absolute shock while Thor's face took a dark turn. "He is stronger than I thought." He mumbled.

"GAAAAAAARRRRH!!!" Hulk roared in anger when he saw his punch being stopped. He threw another hook with his other hand and Thanos, the bigger one, ducked under the punch.

*Sqush*

"RAAAAWWR!!!" Hulk let out a pained roar as the spear stabbed through his thighs and pinned itself on the ground.

"So you are 'Stupid Strength'." Thanos commented while dodging another swing of Hulk's muscular green arm.

Thanos then took a boxing stance and with a wide swing, he threw a body shot right at Hulk's abdomen.

The air screamed in shock as Hulk's huge body shot to the sky like a canon, leaving his pinned leg as it got separated due to the force.

*Booom!!*

"Huh, would you look at that." Thanos whispered while clenching his fist and looking at Hulk's body which flew away in the distance.

"I am even stronger than I thought."

Then something else got his attention as the sky began darkening. Deep rumbling thunder could be heard as Thanos raised his non-existent eyebrow.

He turned towards Thor and Steve and noticed the soldier gone while the God of Thunder was raising Mjolnir to the sky.

"Earth is under my protection, Thanos. You will not do as you please on this planet." Thor announced before he let out a war cry and swung his hammer down.

Thanos gave a wicked smile, "You are ignorant of your weakness."

Then with a booming crack of thunder, everything became blue. A gigantic bolt of lighting, the biggest Earth had ever seen,  descended on the command of the God.

*KHA-CHANG!!!*

*BOOOOOM!!!*
