19 Chapter 18
Seeing the upcoming attack, I closed my eyes to prepare for the pain that I'm about to take.
-Clang!
To my surprised. Instead of feeling pain, I instead felt nothing. Confused at what just happened, I opened my eyes to see Evee blocking the Ant's claw with her sword.
"Quit day dreaming and move new recruit!"
Pushing the Ant with her sword, Evee was able to make some distance and prepare herself at the upcoming slaughter. With her stance ready and weapon in hand, I quickly grabbed Evee in the back and run.
"What the hell are you doing!"
Seeing what I've done, the Ants also began their chase and soon a scene of humans running from monstrous Ants began.
Due to the Ants blocking the stairs to above, we decided to run from the ants in the opposite way from where we were. Due to how large the area was, we we're able to make some leeway from where we're running. But knowing that sooner or later this freedom won't last, I began looking for any room that can potentially save us from the danger of the Ant's.
"Why the hell did you drag me, new recruit. I was ready to fight them all"
"Are you bloody retarded, did you see how many they were"
"What did you say!"
Not wanting to bother with the conversation, I ignored Evee for now. Surviving the current threat is more crucial than a women's annoyance.
Continuing our sprint to safety, I've noticed a metallic door not too far away from us. Sensing it as a potential safe haven, I announce the door's presence to Evee.
"Metallic door, straight ahead. We can hide in there"
"Huh?.."
With an objective now present, we quickly began to make our way to the metallic door. But before we can even reach the door's vicinity, a shadowy figure quickly appeared before us in great speed.
"W-what the!"
"Move, new recruit!"
-Clang
Like a hawk attacking its prey, an attack suddenly came out of nowhere in swift speed. Luckily for me, before the attack even directly hit me. Evee was able to block it with her sword, just like before.
Not wanting for the creature to launched another attack, Evee pushed the creature back away from us. After which she herself launch an offensive move.
The creature looks oddly different from all the Ants we encountered, with it being similar yet different in structure and boasting a larger size. The creature itself, also have four arms in its body and has a large tail sticking in its back. With how different it looks; the creature is definitely a special variation of a Psionic Blue Ant. Whom probably is also, if not more dangerous than the regular ones.
Attacking the creature, Evee began swinging her sword directly at the odd Ant. Despite its large size, the creature is somehow very agile. With it being able to dodge Evee's attack with no problem.
Having dodge all of Evee's attacks. The Ant began another offensive using its large tail. Lodging its tail directly at Evee, she manages evade it with no problem and was even able to block it, once it started swinging at her.
Successfully defending herself once more, Evee began enhancing her legs with psionic energy.
"Greater Speed"
After enhancing her legs with psionic energy, Evee attacks the odd Ant once more. Swiftly dashing directly at the creature, Evee's movement was even faster than it was before. And in no time, she manages to get close at the creature. Swinging her sword directly at the Ant's leg, she was shocked to see at how her attack barely even scratched the thing. Not wasting said opportunity. The Ant began another attack, which Evee barely dodges. Continuing the flow of attack, the Ant attacks Evee once more by swinging its large tail at her. Barely dodging the ant's claws, Evee wasn't able to properly anticipate the swinging tail. As such it directly hits her in the side of her body, launching her at the facility walls.
"Aaarrrghhhhhh!"
Getting hit and slammed at a wall due to the Ant's attack, Evee was momentarily stunned by the damage she had taken. Not wanting to give Evee a chance of recovery, the ant continued its attacks at her. With its sharp claws and stance readied, the Ant prepared another assault using its arms. Seeing the development of their engagement, I was left with no choice to but defend the injured Evee.
-Bang-Bang
Shooting the odd Ant, directly in its head. I was able to stopped its attack at Evee and stunned it for a little bit. With the opportunity I have given, Evee was able to recover quickly and launched another attack.
"Reinforcement"
Coating her sword with Psionic Energy, Evee tried attacking one of the Ant's arms. Getting close at the Ant's vicinity, she tried slashing her sword with all her might. To our surprised, an unexpected development occurred in their engagement when Evee tried her attack. The development was so shocking that it left us momentarily stunned for a little bit.
-Clang!
Coating its arm in some sort of energy, the Ant was able to successfully block Evee's attack. Having her attack easily blocked, Evee quickly sense the upcoming danger and tried backing off from the Ant's range. Not even giving her a moment to back off, the ant began another attack directly at the fleeing Evee. Seeing how she has no time to evade the upcoming attack, Evee quickly tried blocking using her sword. With moderate success she was able to block the upcoming attack and avoid any serious injuries that was about to inflict her.
Quick to react, the ant prepared another attack at the blocking Evee. Sensing the upcoming danger, I quickly supported Evee in her fight, by firing my pistol at the Ant. Quick in its feet, the Ant swiftly backed off from Evee's range and successfully dodge all the bullets I fired. Freed from the Ant's grasp, Evee quickly began another attack while coating her sword with Psionic energy. Continuing my support at the fight, I quickly follow suite in Evee's engagement by firing more bullets.
-Bang-Bang
Occupied with the bullets that I keep firing, Evee was quickly able to get close at the Ant for the second time. Seeing Evee close in its vicinity, the Ant began coating its arms with Psionic energy and launched another attack. Sensing the Ant's attack, Evee quickly rolled in the ground, successfully dodging the Ant's arms. With its attack essentially missing, Evee attacks the Ant's back and finally damaging the thing.
-Screeeccchhhhh!!!
Bleeding from its back, due to the injury it received. A loud scream echoed in the place, as the Ant cry in pain. Seeing a good opportunity to strike, I began using my psionic ability to attack the damaged creature.
Dominate Mind.
Wanting to control the creature, I began using my Dominate Mind ability. To my surprised, instead of feeling the sense of fighting for control. I was instead greeted with a random text, appearing out of nowhere.
-Thought Control Skill Too Low
Surprised at the sudden text, appearing in my view. I accidentally let my guard down, for a moment. Knowing the grave mistake that I've just done, I wasn't able to anticipate that Ant have finally recovered and is rushing me with an attack.
"What are you doing, new recruit!"
With nothing to defend at the approaching Ant, I dumbfoundedly stand still like a bloody fool.
-Slash!
Blood splattered everywhere, as I silently stand from where I was. To my surprised, instead feeling any pain from the attack. I was shocked to see that Evee herself, defended me using her own body.
"Miss Evee!"
Blood silently dripped, as the Ants claw pierce her body. Instead of screaming in pain from the injuries she received, she instead used the opportunity to stab the ant right back.
"Reinforcement!"
-Screeechhhhh!!!
With a sword stabbed right in its body, the odd Ant loudly cry in pain. Not wanting to waste the chance that Evee has given to me. I quickly pulled my gun right into the Ant's face and fired it.
-Bang-Bang-Bang
Using all my bullets to blow the Ant's face, I was shocked to see that my effort barely did any damage at the thing. Injured and stunned at the attacks we made. The Ant lets its claw go at the injured Evee, showing off the injuries it manages to inflict on her.
-Screechhh!!!-Screeechhhh!!!-Screeeccchhh!!
Fucking great...
Seeing how the other Ants are speedily catching up, I quickly dragged the bleeding Evee to the metallic door. After which, I hurriedly close it to prevent the Ants from entering. Luckily for us, the odd Ant wasn't able to quickly recover and prevent us from opening the door.
-Sigh...-Sigh...
With the Ants behind the metallic door, we're currently safe from the dangers for now. With the all the things I've experience in this day alone, I can't help but be extremely exhausted.
"Arrggghhh..."
Seeing Evee in great pain, I tried putting her in somewhere comfortable in this place. Finding a good spot to lay to, I tried putting Evee in said spot to soothe her injuries.
"S-sorry.. For e-earlier"

.
"...D-don't.. b-bother. I-It was my fault anyway, for not being quick.. e-enough"
Seeing the injuries that Evee received, I can't help but feel like shit. Not wanting her bleed out in this wicked place, I began taking my jacket off and ripped some part of my shirt to create a make-shift bandage.
"U-ummm... can.. I?"
-Sigh
"J-just get on.. With it"
Taking off Evee's clothes, I quickly warped her injuries with the bandage I made. Juding from her injuries I saw, if she doesn't get any quick help today. The injuries she has, will probably worsen and in worst case scenario might lead to her death.
Trapped in a room with nowhere to go, I began assessing the things that we can do in our current dilemma. Seeing how we can't really escape this place without engaging the Ants from outside, I wasn't able to think of any solutions that might help us.
What to do, what to do, what to do..
Feeling helpless about the situation that we're in, I can't help but feel despair.
Shit! There must be something that we can do...
"C-calm down will you. You're starting to look more depressed than I am"
Hearing Evee's words, I finally noticed how my body is uncontrollably shaking on its own.
I guess.. I really am starting to get depressed.
Heading her words, I began calming my senses. Panicking in this situation wouldn't do a good thing for us. Especially for me, who's only psionic abilities are tied in Thought Control.
-Sigh
"You're quite optimistic, for someone who's injured"
"L-loathing in despair won't really help in this situation"
"...I guess you're right... So what now?"
"Don't ask me... I'm not the smart one, here..."
"I see.. I guess I have to find a way out of here by myself... Just lay still in here while I go and find anything useful to help us"
"G-good luck..."
"Right... Also don't worry... I'll definitely find a way out of here; I'll make sure of it"

Leaving Evee alone to get her rest. I began searching for anything useful in the place.
In my little adventure, All I manage to find were rubbles, broken things and abandoned desks. Quite the lucky find if I were looking for a list of useless things.
Opening the all the desk that I've found, I was disappointed to find nothing value inside all of them.
"Oh.. Fucking great. Everything is going so... bloody well"
With how unlucky I was in my search; I can't help but be sarcastic at the situation. But knowing that I have an injured person waiting to be save, I can't just sit around here being all funny.
Quickly finishing the search in the area, I began another try at another location of the place.
Knowing that the place I was searching is a building, an idea suddenly dawned into me while remembering a somewhat similar situation in the past.
"Does this place perhaps.. Have any vents"
Remembering how the rats entered the building in the rat encounter. A potential way out of the place, is now in my mind.
Not wanting to waste any time, I quickly began searching for any vents in this somewhat large room.
While in my search for the facility vents, I entered an ominous looking room with ten lockers in it. Still on guard for any potential danger, I carefully scan the area for any visible vents. Seeing how the room is ventless, I was about to leave the area until I caught something weird occurred in one of the lockers.
-Bang-Bang
All of the sudden the furthest locker from where I am, was suddenly shaking and making some noise. Seeing how I'm clearly wasn't hallucinating; I quickly became on-guard as I slowly enter the room. Seeing how the thing inside the locker isn't going out, I slowly but surely get closer at the ominous locker with my pistol in hand.
Why the hell I'm I holding my pistol, it doesn't even have any bullets left...
With the ominous locker in my reach, I waited for anything odd to happen.
-Bang-Bang
It just keeps making noises... What the hell is inside this thing
Knowing that my question won't receive any answer, if don't open the thing. I prepare myself, as I slowly reach for the locker's handle. With the locker's handle in hand, I quickly open the thing which in turn greeted me with an unexpected surprised.
Upon opening the locker, a man whom I don't know suddenly feel down in the ground along with the numerous items inside.
"Whoah! Whoah! Whoah! Don't shoot! Don't shoot!"
Confused at what's happening, I readied my ammo-less pistol at the stranger.
"Who the hell are you!?"
"L-listen man, just put the gun down and w-we can talk about this..."
"You still haven't answered my question!"
"W-whoah.. The name's Bobby. I work at Nadezhda South Station... So, just put the gun down friend. I mean no harm"
Hearing the stranger's words, it seems that the person who we've been looking for is him.
With that said, as for why he was in a locker. It's a mystery that indeed boggles me.
