20 Chapter 20: Vs. the Black Primordial

"If you want to use my belongings," He started saying, standing up off his throne and powering up for battle, "Then you'll have to go through me first."

Smiling like a battle maniac, Noir lunged at Velgin, his right arm stretched out front making a choking motion with his hand facing Velgin's neck

----------

The moment that Noir lunged at Velgin, she got into a battle stance, knees bend, leaning slightly forward, squaring up to the Black Primordial.

Before any contaact was even made, Velgin activated an <Anti-Magic Barrier> to force a physical fight with the demon, negating his strongest attacks of magic.

With Noir mere moments away from her, Velgin ducked beneath his attacking arm into a ball, and rolled to the left while kicking her feet out to launch further away.

While launching herself away, Velgin transformed out of [Neutral Mode] and into [Battle Mode], enhancing her physical abilities.

Then, she activated [True Dragon Aura] to instill fear in Noir while lunging at him, arms in position to protect her face, as if she was in a boxing match.

But Noir felt no fear, only the joy of fighting a powerful opponent, as he also approached Velgin.

Entering a combat routine similar to boxing, both Velgin and Noir tried to one up each other.

Velgin aimed at Noir's head, neck, heart, and other vital areas, but Noir being more experienced knew this was coming. With his spiritual body not needing to defend any other area's besides his core, he used his left arm to redirect as many attacks as possible away from his body, using his remaining right arm to strike directly into Velgin's head.

Seeing this coming with [Raphael]'s [Future Prediction], Velgin narrowly avoided the attack, swung around to Noir's side, and swiped her leg beneath the demon to trip him.

But Noir jumped over Velgin's attack, tucking his legs into his chest, and then kicked out at Velgin, pushing both of them to opposite sides of the room.

Even with [Sherlock] and [Raphael] working overtime to analyze Noir's fighting style and body stance, Velgin was still unable to find any open weaknesses. All his openings were either traps, or disappeared too quickly for her to take advantage of.

Seeing that Noir's mastery of hand to hand combat was much greater than her own, as Velgin landed, she unsheathed her sword, changing tactics to mix things up. Having a longer range, even with Noir's experience, Velgin would have the advantage as he wouldn't be able to counter as easily anymore.

As Noir landed shortly after, he raised his arms, pointing his right palm like a stop motion towards Velgin.

Surprising Velgin, he somehow charged up and launched a full powered <Nuclear Strike> magic attack while still being inside the <Anti-Magic Barrier>. This orange bullet like attack quickly made its way towards her, threatening to explode upon contact.

Even with Velgin's Ultimate Skills creating a barrier to protect herself, not wanting to take any chances, she ducked beneath the attack, and rolled forwards towards Noir when the <Nuclear Strike> had passed her.

But unexpectedly, as she started standing taller as she was running, the <Nuclear Strike> magic attack had exploded without hitting a target, hitting Velgin's back and shoving her forwards in the air.

Taking advantage of this, Noir launched himself forwards, kicking Velgin in the stomach to push her into the far wall. When she was still in the air flying back, Noir launched another <Nuclear Strike>, hitting her directly in the face.

This attack caused lots of dust and other particles to be blown in the air as a smokescreen, though both combatants were still able to see very clearly, but Velgin used her magicules to boost the dust, limiting Noir's sight.

Walking out of the dust, Velgin, in her [Magic Mode], released the [Anti-Magic Barrier] as to not hinder her attempts at magic, since it had no use against Noir anyways.

Even though she was hit multiple times, Velgin was unharmed. She looked a little worn out, as her clothes and hair was a little scorched, but that was all. She had no wounds, burns, and injuries that would cause her to bleed. Overall, basically no damage had been done to either combatants.

Seeing that close combat wasn't working, and even put Velgin at a disadvantaged state that may possibly even be considered loosing, she switched to using magic.

To test Noir, she activated some very basic Holy and Light magic spells, creating energy balls, beams, bullets, blades, spears, swords, and more, and attacked with a variety of different shaped objects.

Seeing this coming, Noir once again charged at Velgin, somehow slipping through all the attacks, dodging between them and made his way to Velgin.

Even though Noir had much less Magicules compared to Velgin, his martial arts reached the pinnacle and his combat experience rivaled that of Guy, with Velgin so far being unable to even graze him. Reaching Velgin within the blink of an eye, he once again kicked her stomach, knocking her down to the ground.

Not taking a moment to shake off the blow, Velgin immediately jumped of the ground and back one to ground ready to fight again.

That last attack still didn't injure her, as her body didn't even have any injuries to heal, and her resistances stopped all the pain.

Noticing that Noir was too nimble, Velgin changed strategies once again. Instead of targeting him, Velgin decided to cast wide range Area of Effect magic, casting a net of attacks around Noir to counter his ability to slip through precision attacks.

She first launched a huge ball of light at the general direction of Noir, igniting the entire room in her signature Holy Light energy.

Then, before the light died down, she launched a very compact and dense <Holy Light Bomb> at Noir's position. With the bomb being hidden by the excess energy of her first attack, the bomb landed directly on Noir, exploding with even more light and energy than the first attack.

But as the light and energy died down, a shocking sight appeared.

Noir was still unfazed, and showed no signs of being hit, except for a few scattered pieces of dust attached to his solders, which he quickly brushed off.

Velgin was getting fairly annoyed at Noir's ability to escape all her attacks unharmed.

As she was preparing to transform into her [Destruction Mode], both [Raphael] and [Sherlock] exclaimed, and were about to notify Velgin of a new discovery.

But before they could, Noir once again charged forwards toward Velgin, intent on continuing their fast paced battle. As he was about to strike and land another hit on her, all of a sudden, she stood straight up, fully intent on allowing the attack to hit her.

Confidently staring straight ahead, unafraid of the attack, Velgin watched as Noir's right hand made a chopping motion, aiming to slice through her neck.

His hand inching forwards, Noir smiled evilly, as his attack was about to land home.

But unexpected, as his attack landed on Velgin's neck, it passed right through her, not harming her in the slightest. It seemed that her confidence in this latest attack wasn't unfounded.

"Enough of this nonsense!" Velgin declared boldly with a lower voice, her voice echoing throughout the entire room. The vibrations from her voice shuck the room, the ceiling threatening to shake with dirt and debris falling, and the pillars holding up the ceiling cracking a little.

As she said this, Noir's smile changed once more, from his evil battle hungry smile into a different one. One showing his genuine enjoyment of the battle.

With Noir's smile, the entire room started turning into mist, the walls, ceiling, pillars, throne, and destroyed debris on the ground. Everything started warping, changing as if none of this had actually happened.

The mist became thicker, and the room felt like it was rotating, shifting, and rearranging itself until it stopped a few moments later.

Once again, Velgin found herself standing in front of Noir's throne of bones, but instead of the once large throne room, the new room that she found herself in was much smaller, still large for a basement, but no longer the colossal size that it once was.

The destroyed room was no longer there, replaced with a smaller but even more destroyed throne room that had fit the theme of the earlier castle. However, this wasn't from Velgin and Noir's recent battle, but instead the way it had already been.

Hearing clapping, Velgin shook her head and blinked, realizing that Noir was no longer sitting on his throne, but walking into the back room behind the throne.

"Well done, well done. You fight well, though you should have realized that you were in an illusion sooner." Noir said, giving advise to Velgin.

"Ha ha … yeah. I was too nervous, and focused on other things," Velgin said back, trying to come up with a reasonable excuse. Although she was taking this fight seriously, she underestimated Noir, not trying to look for other means of attacks, and she didn't use her Ultimate Skills. Still, she was caught in the illusion for a good minute before noticing it.

But this does explain why her attacks weren't hitting him, as well as why her barrier didn't effect him at all, since he wasn't even there to begin with, and was using long range attacks while she was swinging at air.

But to her surprise, Noir conceded the battle, allowing her to use the portal. Even though she was a little tired, though not hurt at all, Noir may still have a chance to beat her if they continued fighting, or so she thought. After all, even in the illusion, he had thoroughly demonstrated his combat experience, with her not being able to land a single hit until she switched to magic.

Entering the protected back room, Velgin noticed that Noir had set up multiple barriers, making it so that any intruders would be stuck in the portal for at least an hour, giving Noir plenty of time to pick a fight before banishing them back to the Otherworld.

The portal looked more like a lightning bolt shaped rip in space, being that when you looked through the portal, all you could see was a blueish purplish space, looking like nothing was on the other side.

As she stepped forwards to enter the portal, Velgin heard Noir say one last thing before she made it to the other side.

"You are a very powerful being. You just need more confidence to be able to call yourself an equal to the strongest beings in the world." Noir said while clapping once more.

Then, the sight around her turned from its blueish purplish haze into a pitch black color, before brightening a little with a few dark greyish blots of color sticking out.
