17 Chapter 17: The 2nd Generation

The moment that Velgin had teleported back to her home in the Dragon Kingdom, she was shocked.

The buildings that used to be one or two story wooden buildings now had two to four stories. The materials changed from a weak flimsy wood to sturdy wood, steel, metals, glass, and bricks. Somehow, glass was invented, and windows were made.

The previous dirt streets were now paved with stone. Lamps hanging on tall poles were hung at every street to light the way.

Stores, restaurants, and other businesses were created and an entire district was dedicated for them.

Looking down from her balcony in her mansion turned castle, Velgin was surprised at all the changes. The streets still looked a little empty, but Velgin noticed that the population had increased by a lot.

Teleporting into the town hall, Velgin met up with Emilia, Kaguya, Jane, and a Dragonewt whose name was Sakura.

Sakura was the designated leader of the Dragonewts ever since the other races moved into the main city. Each race needed a leader, so [Great Sage] had designated her without Velgin knowing.

Sakura looked closer to human than a lizardman, with only two small horns on her forehead indicating otherwise. Pink hair and eyes made her look a little childish, but her personality said otherwise.

Velgin noticed that the four of them had improved greatly since the last time they had met.

Emilia and Kaguya had reached Special A rank, with Emilia still being stronger because of her new Unique Skill [The Blesser]. Sakura was high A+ rank, and Jane was at C+ rank. Only Kaguya had evolved, turning into a Fair Oni, similar to when Benimaru evolved during Rimuru's harvest festival. Jane and the Dwarves didn't evolve during Velgin's evolution, but instead gained the gift of more skillful blacksmithing techniques and a higher intelligence. All of them had gotten smarter, but the Dwarves more so.

Emilia brought Velgin up to speed on what happened in the country.

All the ogres had evolved into Kijin, except for Kaguya. All the Dragonewts and Dragon Elves reached A rank. The dwarves didn't power up, and instead seemed to have gained skill and technique.

Also, many children were born in the past few years that Velgin was away. The population had more than doubled, reaching about 3 thousand, even though two thirds of them were kids. But they would grow up soon, and become members of society.

Later that day in a distant field, one would be able to see a small figure releasing a heavy amount of aura that didn't spread out, but instead stay inside the field.

Velgin was practicing her skills, but mainly her new [True Dragon Aura], wanting to be able to use it to scare the new demon lords.

When she was practicing, Velgin tried combining all of her Unique Skills into an Origin Skill, but had failed. [Raphael] had told her that to do this, she would need to master her Ultimate skills first, and be able to use them with full efficiency.

Thinking a little, Velgin decided on not asking Velgrynd and Velzard for help, wanting to keep her skills a secret. This way, they would only think that her one Ultimate Skill had gotten stronger, rather than gaining new ones.

To prevent Guy from instantly copying her skill, Velgin used [Entertainment King Dionysus]'s [Law Manipulation] to create a barrier that would stop analysis from being used on her, and then used both [Probability Manipulation] and [Guaranteed Outcome] for extra security.

After practicing [Wisdom King Raphael], Velgin had a great idea. She thought that she would use [Raphael]'s ability to input a back door program into [Great Sage] so that when the next user received the skill, she would be able to read their mind, memories, and copy their skills. She couldn't put it into an ultimate skill though, since she didn't yet master this ability.

Without realizing it, two days had passed, and Velgin had only realized it when Guy had sent Rain to pick her up.

"Good afternoon Gin. Or is it now Velgin? Lord Guy wanted you to go early along with Milim and Ramiris so that you all could discuss things before the new demon lords enter." Rain said.

"Sure! That sounds great! And you're right, I'm a True Dragon Now," Velgin said joyfully as she headed towards the teleportation door.

----------

Entering the portal, Velgin realized that Guy, Milim, and Ramiris had already arrived, but were sitting in a different spot than last time. Instead of sitting directly across from each other in an X shape, they all sat close together at the head of the table, making room for newcomers.

Guy was at the head of the table, since he was the host. Milim was to his left, and Ramiris was to his right, but didn't have a full seat, and instead a very small seat that was a tall base.

Judging from Ramiris's position on the table, Velgin thought that she was meant to sit next to Ramiris, making her equidistant to Guy compared to Milim. (A/N: Ramiris would be sandwiched in-between)

The moment Velgin had entered the room, everyone had instantly turned their heads, but Guy and Milim were more shocked.

Gin's EP Value had shot way up compared to last time, skipping straight past S rank and into SS rank.

After some quick greetings, Velgin tried to jump straight into business, wanting to avoid being questioned about her Ultimate Skills.

She wasn't worried, since she had used 3 Ultimate Skills to hide her skills, but made one small mistake. Her defenses would have worked if it was just Guy and Milim trying to analyze her skills, but with Ramiris here wanting to join in on the fun, Velgin slipped up for a small moment, revealing that she had [Wisdom King Raphael], but not its abilities.

Seeing this, Guy was no longer interested, as he had already copied this ability from Lucia a while back. Guy had copied most of the Virtue and Sin series Ultimate Skills, just needing Purity, Hope, Envy, Sloth, and Lust before he completed his collection. He felt that once he got them all, his [Pride King Lucifer] had a chance of evolving. (A/N: This isn't cannon, but I'm thinking that the king who summoned him would have Greed. The Country he destroyed when first summoned would have Gluttony. He already had Wrath and Pride. He had Wisdom from Lucia, Justice from Rudra, Covenant from Rudra, Charity from Velgrynd, and Patience from Velzard.)

On the other hand, Ramiris and Milim were excited, trying to push for further details about the skill. Milim wanted to fight strong opponents, and Ramiris was excited because it was her friend, but Guy brushed it aside and quickly got into his next order of business.

"What are you planning on doing now that you've basically reached the highest level of strength?" Guy asked, with Milim nodding her head as well.

"Well, I don't think any of us have actually reached the top, since we're all weaker than Veldanava was. That's why I'm proposing a new system for us to use to identify ranks." Velgin explained. She went on to explain EP Value Ranks, and then added, "I want to reach SSS Rank, and would like all of you to as well."

Hearing this, Guy nodded, agreeing that there should be a higher level of strength, and agreed that he would also strive to reach it.

Milim also got excited, but then became down for some reason.

"What's wrong?" Velgin asked.

"I want to be strong as well, but I don't want to lose control and hurt you again," Milim revealed, acting a little childish.

"HA HA HA." Guy laughed after hearing this. Although he was a little insensitive, he told Milim, "You're one of the strongest I've ever faced. There's no way losing control would be a big problem for you. The only reason you did was because it was the first time you used your power."

Encouraging her, all three of them asked Milim to try using her power again.

Recklessly, Milim instantly charged up [Wrathful King Satan] to 100%.

And miraculously, nothing bad happened. Milim did hear a tiny voice asking her to give up control, but then she felt the shackles of her Ultimate Skill disappear, giving her full control.

"See, I told you that you could do it." Guy said, braggingly, "Now, all you need to do is practice."

With the three of them now racing to see who reaches the next level soonest, they moved on to the next order of business, the Second Generation of Demon Lords.

"I found eight candidates and invited them to this meeting. We can always vote to kick them out later if they end up being weak, rude, or just not sutible, but for now, I just invited all the people who showed promise and successfully repelled the angel's attack." Guy said.

Seeing everyone nod their heads in agreement, Guy clapped his hands loudly, and the portals around the room lit up.

Right away, 7 beings entered the room. A Giant, a Vampire, a Fallen Angel, a Lion Beastman, an Sea-Serpent Beastman, and two humans. The last member just so happened to be late, even though they were each given a special portal that would open when they were supposed to walk in. Also, subordinates weren't allowed, since they weren't officially Demon Lords yet.

So far, the seven guests were well behaved, politely greeting everyone else, so Guy was pleased. He invited them to all sit down at a spot on the table, and had Rain pass out tea.

But then, the final potential member entered the room.

"Finally, its time to show you guys who's the boss now." he arrogantly said. This man was the king of a small country near the Eastern Empire, and to be fair, he had good reason to be arrogant. He was one of the strongest in the room besides the First Generation Demon Lords, as he was an awakened human.

But unfortunately, even though the rest of the participants were about to let his attitude slide, his next words sealed his fate.

Trying to pick a fight with Milim, he walked up to her and looked down and said, "Huh? Why is there a weak little girl here? I'm willing to take her in."

Before the rest of the participants even blinked, his figure blasted through the open window at a speed too fast for most to see.

"Whelp, there goes that weakling. Who's next?" Milim asked annoyed.

*Gulp*

Besides those who already knew Milim, everyone else was thinking to never get on her bad side.

Although Milim had spared his life, Guy didn't and had secretly sent out Misery to take his soul away, as his awakened soul had much more energy compared to a regular human.

Continuing on with the meeting, Guy hadn't only gone into detail about what the Demon Lord council was, which is a group of strong beings who control their respective countries through power. He went over the basic rules, and highlighted that everyone else was in the 2nd generation, pointing out that the first generation was stronger. He pointed this out to purposely poke fun of and test out the newest Demon Lords.

Unfortunately, the Lion Beastman failed, as he got too riled up and wanted to challenge Guy to assert his dominance.

By the time the meeting ended, another person was eliminated, trying to diminish Velgin's power in the council, and was killed with a swat as if Velgin was hitting a fly buzzing around her head.

In the end, Guy sent a message to all cities and countries, saying that the new Demon Lord Council comprised of 8 beings were now ruling the dark side of the world.

Talking a little longer, Guy had everyone formally introduce themselves, as they were now all equal in the council.

When Guy, Milim, and Velgin introduced themselves, everyone else started sweating, being nervous to be around the strongest primordial, the unique Dragonoid, and a True Dragon. No one else had dared to be disrespectful afterwards.

When the meeting ended, most decided to leave right away. Velgin had sent a message to Milim and Ramiris that she would head over to Ramiris's labyrinth right after her next order of business.

That being that Velgin had went to Luminous Valentine, the beautiful female Vampire Demon Lord, and informed her that she would head over to her castle for business in a few months. Of course she accepted, wanting to make a friend of one of the strongest in the council, and the whole world.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed the chapter!

If you did, please give me a comment and add the story to your collection.

I'm going to try my best to read and reply to comments so if you have question, feel free to ask things.

Also, I know that Gin is weak compared to Guy, Milim, and the other True Dragons, but she is still growing. Plus, she's the only True Dragon learning how to use weapons and magic rather than just skills.
