Spirituality

[Stirituality is a brave search for the truth about existence, fearlessly peering into the mysterious nature of life.]- Elizabeth Lesser.

"Now that we are here what are you planning to do?" Yuna asked Wukong, she already knew he was new in town and thus probably didn't know anyone.

They were in the middle of the street, the city was busing of activity, with people passing by, minding their own business and others selling different kinds of goods.

"Hm... I think I will look for an Inn for now." After thinking about it a little, he answered.

"Have you the necessary... currency?" Seeing as he shook his head in disapproval, she proposed him an alternative. "Then what about this? You can sell to me the corps of Red Deers you hunted."

"Although they are only intermediate Classes monsters since they rares, they will obviously cost more expensive, and I give you a generous offer." She offered since he took care of her so much. She wanted to help him in return. Plus, she couldn't let such an opportunity pass by.

As she previously said, they could be used as high-quality material to craft Items.

"I will take your offer but, instead of selling you the two, It will be only one. Is that fine with you?"

"Only one... Okay, that's also fine." She accepted the terms, although it was a pity to not obtain everything, being too greedy is not a good thing.

"Then take this." She gave him some money, a part of the payment but she didn't have much on her right now so she asked him. "Would it be fine for you to come and get the rest at our family manors?"

"Yes, it's not a problem at all." Sun Wukong agreed but strangely enough, his face was one of irritation, which the girl noticed.

"What's wrong?" She asked him.

"No... nothing, forget about it. I will come for the rest of the payment at a later day." He said as his expression changed to smile, but for some reason, Yuna felt a chill running down her back. This smile was scary.

"I have something to take care of before that." He said as he started walking in a certain direction.

"Wait! But you don't even know where I live!" She shouted from behind but he had already disappeared from her sight.

***

In a dark and narrow alley of the city, a man clothed in all black with his visage almost entirely covered. His eyes were the only exception.

'Did he just disappear? should I inform Gunther?' He thought. The situation was urgent and important. He is not authorized to make any kind of errors whatsoever.

"No, I should trail him. He coul-" He unconsciously muttered out loud.

"There's no need, I am right here." said a sudden figure that appeared behind the man.

"What do you mean by-" He kept going before realizing what was going on. Prompting him to hurriedly take some distance.

"....Y-you are?!" This seemed as much as a question that a statement.

The man was afraid, he could already feel it from far away, but having him so close, he was overwhelmed by his aura.

That was because Sun Wukong right now was not really in a good mood making him release some of his aura.

"Hum... So you know who I am after all." He held his chin with his hand.

"It seems like we need to have a little chat." The Monkey King said to the man with a smile.

But from the man's perspective, the smile wasn't reassuring at all.

Two hours later, Sun Wukong was before an Inn, on the board was written... He didn't understand.

Althought he could discuss with people without having to learn their language due to magic sense that translated his and the ones he want to communicate with 'Intent'.

The same could not be applied here as words by themselves have nothing such as 'Intent'.

"Sigh..." He opened the door and made his way inside.

Surprisingly the interior looked like any Inn from any other random Isekay Fantasy manga.

While looking around a little bit, he approached the middle-aged woman behind the counter.

She had brown hair and eyes, with long hair. Her body was... rather attractive. But that was not enough to gain the Monkey King's favors.

"Hello, what can I do for you? Would you like to rent a room or have a meal?" she asked with a gentle smile.

"I would like to rent a room, please." He answered.

"For how long?" She asked for further detail.

"Hm... Give me a moment." Sun WUkong said as he thought about it for a bit.

He was new in town and many things were new and unfamiliar to him, he didn't even think about how long he would stay in this city or even kingdom.

But considering that he made a new friend here and also, he was not in hurry to do anything for the moment... except perhaps hunting and eating interesting monsters.

Even that could be done from here for now, so it should be fine to rent the room for a long time. At least as long as anything too... displeasing happened.

Long time that wouldn't be so long for him anyway, he had many years to live since he was practically immortal at this point. And canon was still far away. He could take his time.

Still, this can't be his residence for too long as he couldn't do any kind of hardcore physical training here.

Perhaps he should visit the king? Hm... He would think about it at a later date.

"Thank you for the wait. I would like to rent it for three months for now." He said, "How much would that cost?"

"Do you wish to have Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included?" She asked.

"No, I will pass." He answered.

"So that would be..."

Turned out he had enough money to rent the place for this long with what Yuna gave him. He planned to make a part of the payment now and the rest after but that was ultimately unneeded.

Either she gave him more than he thought or the rent is lower. Anyway, that was not important.

She guided him to his room and gave him the keys after which she took her leaves.

The room was not that big, there was a single-sized bed, and a table with a chair. That was all.

'Not that I should expect more from an Inn of this price in the first place.'

He closed the windows and took a seat on his bed. Crossing his legs in a lotus position, he regulated his breathing as he started meditating.

Slowly he started unconsciously floating above the bed, his expression neutral but serene.

This was one of the best ways he found to not only improve his ki control (Magicule and aura too) but also sharpen his senses and elevate his consciousness.

He had been doing it for a long time already, it was something he came to like.

But it seemed like this time was a bit different... rather than focusing on improving his ki mastery or deliberately trying to improve his spiritual awareness as he would say.

He did something a little different. He let go of everything as he completely embarrassed the world.

He was no longer in his room, nor in the Inn. He could no longer tell if he was in Ren, not even the Kingdom of Ingrassia or anywhere else in this world for that matter.

He couldn't see, hear, taste, speak, or even feel, he lost his five senses. and he didn't or couldn't use magic sense as well.

All he could do was think. But as he sink deeper and deeper, he couldn't even think anymore.

Instead just became... Became nothing... Became everything.

He couldn't feel yet he tells... he couldn't think yet knew.

He became everything and nothing at the same time. He knew everything but he also knew nothing, he felt everything yet he felt nothing... This was a truly unique experience.

This was a spiritual awakening. Sun wukong, the monkey king attained Spiritual awakening during a brief state of enlightenment through pure talent and will.

This would be of great benefice to him, the longer he would stay in this state, the more his spiritual capability would be enhanced. Sadly it seemed that he couldn't last much longer in this state as he was not even a fully spiritual being yet.

Althought that was without counting on his skills.

[Special conditions detected... collecting data... adapting...]

And that was but... the beginning.

[Data collection failed... adaption power insufficient... Looking for an alternative.]

[Alternative detected... adapting.]

[Adaptation failed... looking for another alternative...]

[Personal Reality... is being accounted for...]

[Hypercompetence... is being accounted for...]

[Transcendence... is being accounted for...]

[Adapting... running the skills at full power...]

Since Sun Wukong was using those skills passively, he wasn't exploiting them to the best of his abilities. Those skills could do much more than he thought. He was limiting himself by his own imagination and self restrain.

[Conditions have been stabilized...]

And thus a big step has been taken on the road to spirituality.

That was still not enough, he not only had to adapt but also get something from it.

[Adapting... Using Transcendence... successful.]

[Innate limitations are being transcended... successful.]

[Physicality is being transcended... successful.]

[Spirituality is being transcended... unsuccessful. Power still insufficient.]

[stabilizing current conditions... successful.]

[Adapting to the current conditions... successful.]

As soon as the adaptation has been successfully effected, the voice of the world voice ringed.

[Confirmed, Unique Skill Spiritual Ascension acquired... successfully.]

Althought Sun Wukong obtained a new skill, he still didn't know as he was still in a state of higher conscientiousness.

He didn't know yet but this unexpected happenstance caused quite a commotion... not only that but it also changed his plans... If he had any.

He remained in this state for quite some time... 4 years to be exact.

Because of that, his physical body has also gone through several Major changes.
