2 I... certainly wasn't expecting that.

[The world is full of magic things. Patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper]- W.B Yeats

***

Two other days passed as I started training, and the results were disappointing.

I have been forced to attain the conclusion that my current physical stats couldn't be further raised by doing mundane exercises such as push up, running, squats, and the like.

I barely felt any kind of exhaustion after hours of trying, to the point I stopped altogether. It must be because monsters/majin physical attributes are directly connected to the amount of magicule they possess.

It seems like if I wish to get stronger this way I either need a more appropriate and specialized way of training like gravity training or concentrating on difficult body movements... and none of those are possible at the moment.

I know no gravity magic, nor do I have the technology to recreate the phenomena. I also am no expert on physical conditioning.

So there are only three to four other ways to get stronger in those conditions.

The simplest but also the most difficult way, getting named... but not many beings could or be willing to name someone with three unique skills.

Getting better at using ki, which I am already working on is easier than I thought. (It is due to my other skills, to the point that I am sure my skillset gives me some sort of nerfed instant mastery.)

Picking a fight with someone stronger than me so I could adapt and get stronger way quicker.

Learning magic is also a good option, but as strange as that seems I don't really enjoy this idea, I don't know it just doesn't seem... hmm... how to say it, warrior-like, my instincts are telling me to not focus on it.

But I am not crazy, I know that learning magic would be a great advantage, even more since this world magic system is off the shart in terms of... everything.

I could also learn some arts, an option I find very appealing.

[Enough data has been collected. The Tail weakness has been gotten rid of.]

As I was making my way in the woods, swinging from tree to tree with my tail and hand, I heard a mechanical voice in my head.

"Perfect!" I was happy, it was the effect of the sub-skill of my Reactive adaptation skill, [Selection].

I have been been using my tail constantly in order to get used to it and hopefully even overcome its weakness wich make me weak when someone grab it.

"What... Is this...?" I was taken out of my thoughts as my magic sense perked on something rather interesting.

Without wasting time I accelerated, as I make my way to the strange place I discovered.

Soon enough I came to face... A big reinforced door encased into a gigantic tree with stairs leading to it.

"The Dwelling of Spirits." So I am in this place, truly a good coincidence.

I slowly walked up the stairs, finding myself facing the door, I pushed it open and kept walking in.

As the door automatically closed behind me, I found myself in another dimension, it was a dungeon.

"I wonder, could I get a spirit? Wait... can Majins - ?" My knowledge of Tensura is not that deep, although I was going to write a fic, I didn't finish doing my research, I started by designing my MC because it was fun this way.

I merely watched the anime, read the manga, got some spoilers, and looked up to the wiki fandom. That's all, I don't really remember the little details as well since it's been a while already. Writing the fic was just an impulse I had and couldn't resist.

As I thoughts, I kept walking forward since it was a straight path.

"Haha"

"An intruder"

"No, a guest."

"We have a guest!"

I heard some voices coming from all around me. It was probably the spirits.

"Hello, could one of you take me to your queen?" I politely asked even if I knew I would meet her just by walking a little bit further.

"The queen?"

"You want to meet the queen?"

"Yes." I answered.

"Sure!"

"I will guide you."

As one of them agreed a saw a path of light open before, encouraging me to follow it.

"Thank you then."

As I made my way deeper into the dungeon, I finally arrived at the place the slime got his students some greater spirits, a gigantic mountain with many peaks and a path of light circling the mountain leaning the biggest peak.

Since my magical sense locate a presence on top, I trod the path. I wasn't particularly worried since I knew it was safe.

Once over there, I was welcomed by the sight of a pixie, with blond hair tied in two ponytails.

"Huhu, so you requested an audience with the great Ramiris!" She announced proudly,

"huh..." although I knew what she was like, I was a little taken aback by her way. "Yes, I would like to make a contract with a spirit."

"Hm... You?." She asked as she circled around me and seized me up. "You don't seem like much." She said as she stopped before my face with her hands on her waist. "I could beat you with my pinky!"

"Yes, yes you can." I didn't even bother arguing with her, it would just get annoying and I hate when things get annoying.

"At least you know!" She seemed somewhat happy with the fact that I didn't deny it, I could even see her face lit up.

"Fairy queen Ramiris, would you help me?"

"Help you? Ho, I finally understand! so you heard of the great Demon Lord Ramiris and thus wanted to become my protege!" She... seemed to only hear what she wanted, seriously what kind of cliche misunderstanding is this?

"I won't deal with this, let's just get over with this." I didn't try to rectify the misunderstanding, If anime thought me one thing, I know it would just get worse. And to be honest, it was not a bad deal, it was even convenient. Althought she was rather weak, she is still a Demon Lord after, her connections are what makes her really dangerous.

There is also the fact she is the first person I talked to since coming into this world so I am being a little... nan, too much considerate.

"Ho yes, you also wanted to make a contract with a spirit, then congratulations, you are at the right place."

"I know."

"Anyway, just come over there. Get on your knees and pray, if a spirit is interested it will show up."

I headed her advice and got to the center of the platform. I could feel her gaze on me from the side. But I didn't get on my knees nor did I pray. Heck, I didn't even speak.

I just make part of my intent as an invisible pressure followed. This pressure was nothing like ki or the like, it was just a physical representation of my will and intent given form by my unique skill [Indomitable Will.]

"Woah! You are better than you look!" Ramiris commented on the side. "But I can still beat you with one hand!"

I ignored her altogether and concentrated on maintaining my intent. The pressure started getting heavier and heavier and grow larger and larger, to the point where I felt that rather than attracting the spirits it was chasing them away.

But that was also fine nonetheless, if they couldn't even withstand something so weak, they themselves shouldn't worth much.

After a moment of complete silence, an intense light appeared, before me, before subduing, letting place to a spirit, no it was the spirit of light. Golden hair and eyes, but contrary to the one that signed a contract with Kenya, this one is a female.

"Hello! I am the spirit of light, pleased to meet you!" She introduced herself.

"Wait... wait! How? He is obviously a monster!" Ramiris seemed to be in disbelief.

"What is wrong with that?" I asked, this seemed to be an exceptional case.

"It is rare if not almost unheard of that a monster is blessed by the spirit of light." The spirit of light herself proceeded to explain. "But you have the aura of a Hero, even if you are a monster, so I was obliged to show up!" She said much to my and seemingly Ramiris's surprise.

"A monster with the aura of a... Hero?" Ramiris just slowly floated down on the ground, most in her thought.

"Hero... Huh?" Although my knowledge is lacking I do know it's impossible for a Monster to become a Hero just like it's impossible for a Human to become a demon lord.

"Yes, but... It would be impossible for you to become one since you are a monster, you can't get a hero seed." She said clearing my confusion. "Nonetheless, since I am already here and you deserve it, I will sign a contract with you and become your guardian spirit."

"What is your name?" She asked,

"I..." It was a little embarrassing to say. "I have no name yet..." I had my hand behind my head and laughed in embarrassment.

"No... name? Well, it doesn't matter anyway, let's get along from now on." She said as she disappeared into my body in a burst of light.

And Instantanly after I knew how to use her powers, and even how to communicate with her. It seems like a mental link was established between the two of us.

"I was not expecting this but, it's a welcomed surprise." I said, as a ball of light formed into my hand. I observed it a bit before dissipating it.

"You don't know how lucky you are right?" Asked a Ramiris who came back to her sense.

"No, but yes." I wasn't going to say anything I was not supposed to say.

Also, it seems like my current position in the timeline is before canon, even if I don't know by how much. But I will ask ramiris after, I should be able to get an Idea based on the current Demon Lords.

"Anyway, Ramis, weren't you speaking of me becoming your protege? Then will you teach me magic?" I asked, trying to use her own words against her.

"I was right after all, you recognized my gretness and want to become my disciple." It is a pleasant surprise to see that she is the same as I remember her from the story.

"Ay, Ay, Ay." I answered with a sigh.

"Fine then, I shall make you the best Magician of the World!' She boasted, but I knew magic was her domain, spirit magic to be exact, If i could learn even a bit from her it would be greatly beneficial to me.

"Then, hm... I almost forgot you don't have a name yet. That would be annoying." She expressed her opinion. "Should I give you one?" She wondered, or more like asked me.

"I would advise you not to, you... It wouldn't be wise." I knew her current condition, it would severely weaken her or worse kill her. I wasn't willing to have that on my consciousness.

"Just call me... " I thought a little about it, I obviously was not going to call myself Beat, nor am I keep my name from my past life. Plus it's not even going to be my real name but just a way to address me. "Sun Wukong for now." I decided to go by this name for now.

"Okay! Sun Wukong, come with me!" She said as she flew down. I also took the jump, and gratefully landed on the ground.

Perhaps I should learn how to fly, It should not be too hard.

"My guess was right after all." I murmured to myself. In this world the concept of name was special for monster, It's not possible to name oneself. Andn it's not possible to accidentally give a name aswell.

For it to work, the giver and the receiver must come to an agreement, or it wouldn't work, the intent of giving a name and receiving one must all be present. That's the reason why nothing happened when Ramiris called me by the name I gave myself, she had no intent give me a name and I had no intent to receive one as well.

It's just the same as with the primordial demons, although they are called by different epithet like Noir, White, Purple, Red, Green and all... It was not considered as their name. My case is similar.

"So you want to learn Spirit magic or sumoninc magic?" She asked. "Not that I don't master elemental magic as well but it's too weak."

"I don't plan to specialise in magic, so the basic of evry type and a little more in spirit magic would do." I said, although it's good finally have some company, I still want to see some civilization, and then go on an adventure roaming the world while getting stronger.

Therefore I don't plan on staying here for too long.

"Okay then let's start with Light Spirit Magic."

"From no on you will call me Ramiris-sama."

I think, she is getting a little bit too comfortable. Should I shot her down?
