Adventurer Karna.

After I decided to become an adventurer, some things happened, and I also found out that we were currently in a country named The Kingdom of Blumund.

We went shopping and found some of the necessary items I needed. We first went to a shop that was selling clothes and bought a white long-sleeved shirt with black jeans, a black cape that draped over my shoulders, and a pair of boots.

Currently, we are walking to the blacksmiths. I need to buy a bow for fighting. If I want to be an adventurer, that is, I will not be a weak burden for my companion.

Shizue was strong; she was very strong, and I could sense that. She was also polite and kind, so I am trying not to burden her more than I already did.

"Will you train me in the way of swords?" I asked her as we walked by many people who were currently busy fangirling Shizue; apparently she's a legendary hero, the "Conqueror of Flames."

"If you want, then yes, I will train you." Yes! That's just what I wanted. "But remember that I will not tolerate slacking, and I will work you to the bone." All my enthusiasm left just as it came because she was covered in a slightly dark aura as she said it. She meant business.

We finally saw the shop and entered it. There was an old man who was practically dead, and he was hitting a blade with his hammer. The hammer met the blade with quite impressive power for someone this sickly.

"Hello." Shizue was the one to greet the man; he turned around as he stopped his smithing and went in front of us, asking, "What is it that you want from this old man?" Very casual for someone who has been slapping the shit out of something just a moment ago.

"We want a bow that would suit him." She directed her gaze to me as she said that, and I nodded along with her. I needed a bow that would work for me. I don't want it to last forever, but for quite a long time.

"Hm." He placed his right hand with his thumb and index finger under his chin and thought for a moment. "I have the perfect weapon for you, young lad." He seemed quite enthusiastic as he said that.

He returned with a bow that emitted a slight ominous aura for a moment, which put me and Shizue on alert. The bow had a black color and sharp edges, two red gems on either end, and a golden string.

"This weapon is almost a unique grade; I have a feeling that you can use it; it was my family heirloom, but I can't use it because I am not compatible, so give it a try," He said with such a face that screams excitement.

I looked at Shizue for a moment, and she just nodded. I sighed as I took it from his hands; it felt just right in my hands. I pulled the string, and an arrow made out of magic appeared, surprising the old man. Shizue seemed like she expected this; well, she did know the name of my Unique skill.

I slowly withdrew the string, and the arrow disappeared. "Um, this feels just right; I'll take this." I looked at Shizue, and because I am broke in this world, she's paying for it.

She was about to ask about how much we should pay when the old man waved us off with an annoyed face, saying, "I don't want any money for it; I will die in a few months anyway." Grumbled as he went back to strike the blade.

We shrugged as we left. Before we left, though, Shizue placed a small pouch of coins on the table.

"That bow seems dangerous," She said. What she said is also valid: this thing is dangerous. It also ceased emitting any type of aura the second I placed my hands on it; it was as if it had a will.

"True, but I think I can handle it. Don't worry." I don't actually believe that I can handle this because it seems ridiculously powerful for a bow bought from some middling shop.

"Hm." She nodded as we saw the training grounds for the military; we could enter here only because of her legendary Hero status.

The place was divided by section, with the preferred weapons as a base; there were swords, spears, bows, axes, mace, and even shields. We went to the bow section, and I took a stance.

Placing my left foot forward and my right foot backward, I took the bow with my left hand and drew the string as an arrow appeared nocked in the bow. For a moment, I could see the gems on the bow glow a bit.

<<Confirmed. Extra skill "Magic sense" successfully acquired>>

With a swish sound, the arrow was released. In the blink of an eye, the arrow also had a serene golden glow to it. the released arrow went through the target and through the wall that was between the forest and the training ground. The people who were training there, along with me and Shizue, went wide-eyed.

"What the hell is that?"

"How did he do that?"

"That's so cool."

People began to murmur about it, and before I knew it, "How did it come to this?" I asked her. We were sitting in a cafe eating some freshly baked bread, and the old lady was kind too. Is everyone in this country like this?

"It is not so bad, you know." Yes, it is. Being known as the apprentice of a Hero, I anticipated that, but to think it would happen this fast is what I did not expect.

Finishing the delicious meal, we left shortly after, paying for the bread as we left. After walking for a few minutes, we saw a building that looked like it was from the medieval period—it was still mostly the medieval era in this world—and people who were entering and leaving. The Mutual-Aid Association.

We entered the building, looked around, and saw many tables and chairs with people drinking and talking cheerfully. They went silent as we entered, most likely because they saw Shizue with a man, as she was mostly a loner-type adventurer. She did have some friends, but they rarely met. We went to the front counter.

We went to the lady who was at the counter; she looked at us once, and when she spotted Shizue, she immediately had a smile on her face.

"Hi, what can I do for you?" She had a professional smile when she asked us that.

"I want to register as an adventurer, please," I said as Shizue placed five copper coins on the counter. "He will need to take the test for it." Another voice came from the side as we saw a man who looked like a noble walking towards us.

"First, you will have to take the novice exams; the exam contains four tests, starting from novice, beginner, intermediate, and advanced." He said it with a smirk on his face as he looked at Shizue.

"Can't we ignore the first three and proceed with the last level?" She ignored the noble and said to the lady on the counter, She's quite confident in me; well, I'm confident too, but isn't this supposed to be tough?

"Well, you could, but that would require a silver coin." Before the lady could talk any further than that, a white-gloved hand placed a silver coin on the counter. Everyone looked at Shizue. "I would like him to take the advanced rank test."

"If you are that confident in this lad, come along to the exam grounds and do know one more thing. His safety is not our concern, and you will be the sole one responsible for his possible demise." The noble bastard is irking me off, first with the lecherous look he gave Shizue and now with this.

"No problem by me, I will crush the exams" The noble went red with anger after my declaration, serves him well.

We were led to an open ground with a complex magic formation; if I have to guess, it will block any means of escape. As if I'm going to run away after seeing what my arrows can do, my Unique skill will turn my arrows into weapons of mass destruction if I so wish for it.

After a look of encouragement from Shizue, I stepped inside the magic formation, and just as I thought, the thing restricted movement completely as I felt something not visible restricting my hands and legs. Shizue also realized this and was about to ask for the removal of the formation when my hand suddenly twitched and I broke the binds that were binding me.

People couldn't see the binding; only Shizue and I, along with the cursed noble, knew this, and the smirk on his face suddenly vanished like it was not there at all.

'Phew! Thank God that I have this unique skill and its holy attributes, it's only because of that I was able to destroy the dark magic with some difficulty.' I was freaked out when I felt that I couldn't move my body at all. The brave face I showed outside was all because I couldn't move my body.

"So, what is the test? are you just going to keep me standing?" I questioned the noble as I drew my bow and held it in my right hand.

"N-no, I will show you that being an adventurer is not so easy, you brat!" He roared with a red face, took out a purple stone that was filled with magic, and began chanting with his hand stretched out in front of him.

"Come! Greater Demon!" He cried out as people began panicking, "Greater Demon? Is this guy mad?" Except for Shizue, everyone was praying for their lives; some even ran away. I have never seen a demon, and this Greater demon—based on the name, it sounds dangerous—but I doubt it can cause any damage anyway since my unique skill turns my magic into holy energy.

The magic circle glowed with a blue glow as a muscular demon with wings and blue hair came from it. The magic stone in his hands shattered, and the noble slumped to the ground, dead, as his soul was devoured by the demon—scary!—and he completed his end of the contract.

"You are the one I need to kill to get the contract done; I will be killing all of these livestocks along with you." Too much talk! An arrow covered in a golden glow pierced through the demon's head in an instant. And because it was covered in holy energy, it destroyed its soul along with its body.

The people were looking at me like I was a monster, But it seems Shizue had expected this; did she find out that my arrows are powered by holy energy? from the training ground, where I only fired one?

"Good job, killing the demon. I knew you could do it," Came the compliment from Shizue. "Did you know?" I asked her as we were being led to the counter to get my license card as an advanced adventurer.

"Yes, did you think something as powerful as holy energy would miss my eyes?" Now that I think about it, she's an advanced adventurer who most likely has years of experience, so it would be unusual if she did not find out that I'm using holy energy.

I got the adventurer card, and I am now an officially acknowledged adventurer. Now this is where my story starts: The Legendary Adventures of the "Hero of the Sun," Karna, and his companion, The "Conqueror of Flames," Shizue Izawa.
