Repaying your kindness

As soon as we arrived to the hotel, my friends dropped their bags and left to tour around to complex and get some food whilst my hair was begging to be washed, so I asked Xiao Long for the directions to the toilet and left. Let me tell you, the toilet was grand. Like grander than the entrance of the complex. I was modern, sleek, with tinges of gold accents here and there, on the bath legs, the taps and tap handles, the countertop was made of black marble and had a small dip rather than the usual basin, with two large mirrors directly above the basins. Directly in front of me was floor to ceiling windows with a view of the sea and a large bathtub, whilst my right had the shower.

This was the epitome of luxury because everything you'd touch felt almost to worthy of you, but that just made me even more excited to shower and clean myself of all the wierd bacterias from the planes. I locked the doors and started the shower.

After I showered, I took the soft black towel I left on the floor to the right before realising that I didn't actually take a change of clothes with me inside. Slowly, I unlocked the door and popped my head out of the door and whispered Xiao Long to catch his attention.

To my dismay, he had a visitor and was busy with business so I attracted someone else's attention who was closer by, but I didn't get to see his face as I only had my hand sticking out of the door now. The footsteps drew closer and the person asked me what I needed. I replied with my fingers pointing toward my luggage bag so I supposed the person got the jist of what I was saying and brought the clothes to me.

I snatched them from their hands and close the door quietly, as to not disturb Xiao Longs business. Getting dressed quickly, I cleaned up the shower and wiped up the excess water which dripped everywhere because of my long hair, and walked out of the shower. By the time I got dressed and dried up, the people had left so it was just me and Xiao Long at home.

I walked out and asked who he had come over but he just briefly explained that his friends had returned from visiting South Korea so he wanted to have a meeting before work tomorrow. I didn't pry any further because it wasn't any of my business, so I got my laptop out, sent some emails and sorted out my clothing affairs and study affairs before going into the kitchen to cook some dinner.

My friends hadn't come back yet as I got a message from them saying they'd gone late night shopping in town therefore I made enough food for me and Xiao Long. My hobby was sewing but it was also cooking, and baking, so I could say that my skills were pretty good. I just cooked up what I could see in the fridge. Feeling homesick, I decided to cook a lasagna and withing half an hour, dinner was served. I went to the room on the opposite side of the penthouse, which was an office, and called him over to eat.

"Victoria, you really didn't need to cook, I could've just called the maids," he said, as he smiled and ruffled my hair. I replied to him that it was my pleasure and passion so soon, we dug in whilst listening to some radio music at the same time. We conversed about small things such as what we planned to do in Hong Kong for 4 weeks and if we'd want to visit the harbour and take his yacht out one day. Delighted, I said yes and told him how thankful I was to be in his company. He mentioned nothing of it and in turn asked me about future aspirations or job ideals, to which I said piloting, as we'd already talked about when we first met.

Time flew by quickly and my friends finally came home, except now with ten extra bags of clothing and accessories from the shopping mall close by. They bragged about how beautiful it was, how grand, gold, and gigantic it was, which piqued my attention due to my fashion loving self. Hearing our conversation at the sofa, Xiao Long came over and asked us if we'd want to go to the mall tomorrow morning for a longer day out, and then visit the harbour for sunset which sounded like a great idea so we all squealed and laughed, like idiots.

They were in love with the city and, after shopping for a few hours, were exhausted, so we went to the bedroom and chatted before going back to sleep. Leslia and Emma talked about how they say so many handsome men at the mall and almost went to ask for their numbers, and how they were going to miss being together again after this trip. I really loved them, they always knew how to make me laugh, smile, cry and just love life when I was around them. They were never short of charisma and silliness and stupidity, especially when it came to food.

Hugging my friends to sleep, I think I had the best rest I'd ever had in a while, especially since exams started and all this travelling began. Jet lag was catching up on me, but tomorrow was too good of a day so I wasn't going to miss it for my life.
