106 Would Not Have An Affair

The drive was silent and slow, but the pace couldn't be more appreciated by Lina. There was an edge in the air. It kept her stomach in knots, and the uncertainty the night carried tightened those knots.

She had to tell the truth, relive those moments of life she wished to never recount. She wished she had never lived them, but yet she had, and nothing could undo it.

There was a question that lingered in the air, and that was, how much of the truth was she willing to tell. How much of it could she bring herself to share? Her fingers damped with those thoughts.

"Are you okay?" Pete turned and asked, his eyes laced with concern. Her brows were taut, her eyes drenched with anxiety, or was it fear. He couldn't really tell.

"I'm fine. Just tired." She shifted in her seat and settled back.

Indeed, she look tired. Every inch of her face was heavy with it. "Have you had dinner?"

"Dinner?"
