Lina cussed herself when her eyes impulsively darted towards his lips as his words had reactively spurred her to. Her cheeks flushed when Pete caught her gaze on him and the knowing smile that coursed across his lips had her cheeks burning even more and her stomach churning with shame.

Quickly, dashing her eyes away from him, she lowered her head to her phone, causing her hair to curtain away her face. She didn't understand why she was hiding away when he had always stared at her lips boldly and even sensuously.

'But this is different. You feel different.' A soft voice ministered in her head, and Lina had to agree.

She indeed felt different. Or rather she has been feeling different towards him lately. She has been indulging him and subtly entertaining his advances. She has been welcoming of his presence into her daughter's life and perhaps into hers as well. She wasn't sure of the later, but Pete was gaining a free reign in her head.
