97 Disappointing

It was crazy how one could be battered by uncertainty and anxiety, confusion and fear. Fear of totally losing something, someone they desperately want to have.

Pete was realizing that this desperation for Evelina wasn't just an attraction anymore, because how could he explain the crave for her despite the rejection a week ago? The need to feel that perfect fit of her body in his arms again, to share that warmth that he had discovered only she could give, had kept him awake most nights.

The delightful mixture of rose and vanilla that gave a relaxing feel whenever he had her within space still lingered in his memory. Never had he seen anyone in a mess of flour and batter and still wield the amazing beauty she possessed.

The smell of chocolate and vanilla in her hair — a scent she carried from her numerous baking — had heightened his interest in that brown garnish and, at the same time, kept him on a fast from all pastries this past week.
