Flushed and livid, Lina cussed in her heart. Her cheeks burned a deep red shade.

She was unquantifiably mortified and overwhelmed with shame. She cussed him over again in her heart.

Her heart was still in a rumble of heavy thuds and beats.

Never had she been in that moment before where she was utterly embarrassed and disappointed — disappointed because somewhere in her heart, she had wanted that soft press of his lips against hers and the heat of his arms around her.

She had no idea where that damnable longing had come from, but she had felt it, and she was mortified and irritated with herself.

Speechless and embarrassed, she scowled at him, but her scowl slowly turned menacing when the taunting smile on his face lingered.

"You're glaring, Evelina." He said, his lips twitching with an even more annoying smile.

He chuckled when she glowered and trotted towards the stove.
