Chapter 33.1 : Slaughter

A few days later,

As she stared at Emily, who was currently gritting her teeth and trying her best to get up from the floor, Diana, who was standing in the middle of a large room with her hands crossed, couldn't help but slightly smile.

"Even though you're really too weak, even weaker than the old man if you don't use your devil fruit, you've got some spirit, I give you that," said Diana, who had become a bit acquainted with the world she had landed in, as well as it's the most basic concepts.

Hearing that, the 'old man', who was sitting on the side, eating some fish, couldn't help but raise his head as he was noticed, whilst Emily, who had just been called weak gritted her teeth even harder and continued struggling to get up from the ground.

In the end though, the girl finally managed to do so, causing her to suddenly charge straight at Diana and let out a sweeping kick against her torso, much to Thresh's dismay.

"You've got the spirit, but it looks like you need to rest a bit right now, otherwise you won't gain anything from just charging straight at me," said Diana as she let out a kick of her own, which sent Emily to the ground.

"Don't worry, just give her some food and thirty minutes, and she'll be up and fighting against you in no time, you just need to give her around a day to fully recover her combat strength before the marine raid, otherwise things will be fine, I've trained her this way for years," said Thresh as he took a bite out of his fish, as Diana walked up to the now unconscious Emily.

"Eh, that's a pretty good recovery ability..." mumbled Diana as she knelt down next to Emily, who had actually begun sleeping peacefully after just having been knocked out.

"Wake up little girl, otherwise I'll beat you up again," said Diana as she poked Emily's cheek, without many results, as the Vice-Captain still refused to wake up.

Half a moment later, Diana shifted her head to the side, allowing a piece of cooked fish to fly over Emily, which prompted the girl to open her eyes and stretch out her hand above her, instantly catching the piece of fish in her hands.

After quickly devouring the fish in just one bite, Emily turned her attention to Diana, who was still poking her cheek even now, before suddenly letting out a punch right into Diana's face.

"Letting your guard down... rookie mistake..." mumbled Emily, causing black lines to appear on Diana's forehead as she felt the fist of the girl impact her face straight on.

...

A few moments later,

"So how long till we arrive at the base, does she have enough time to react?" asked Diana as she sat down onto a chair and pointed to Emily, who had once again fallen unconscious after being ruthlessly beaten by Diana.

"It's as I told you, she needs around a day to recover from injuries like this, you can even keep training her for some more time if you so want, she'll be fine," said Thresh as he pointed towards his adopted daughter.

After first beginning to train Emily, Thresh had similar concerns, but after becoming familiar with the girl those concerns quickly disappeared, as he became aware of just how durable she was.

"I understand, It's just that I need to be careful to not cause any sort of permanent damage, wouldn't want something like that to emerge from just training," mumbled Diana as the ship suddenly moved upwards, clearly passing over a wave.

...

As he stared at the marine ship in front of him, as well as at the island behind it, which had both a relatively large city, and a marine base behind it, Thresh, who was standing at the very front of the ship, alongside Emily and Diana, couldn't help but smile.

"Just a bunch of cannon fodder, I'm going after them, I need to warm up these old bones before attacking an entire marine base, don't I?" asked Thresh as the Thunder kept on going, not scared of the marine ship in the slightest.

In just a few moments, under Daniel's precise control, the ship actually arrived relatively close to the marine ship, before the latter could fire its cannons.

A moment later Thresh suddenly jumped from the Thunder onto the Marine Ship.

...

As soon as Thresh jumped onto the marine ship, dozens of guns were suddenly pointed at him, causing him to suddenly take out his sword.

Although dozens of guns were pointed at him, only around 70 percent of them actually fired, at the same time, as he was running extremely fast for a normal human, over 50 percent of the remaining bullets completely missed him.

As such, Thresh was able to use his sword to block the remaining bullets, before suddenly jumping into the ranks of the marines, where such unrestricted fire was no longer possible.

Even though Thresh did not have his right hand, and he was not nearly at his peak, in the end, these young marines from North Blue were completely helpless before the old pirate who had adventured into the Grand Line back in his youth.

In just a few seconds, Thresh culled over 20 marines as he moved towards the captain of the ship, causing Emily, who was watching from the side up until now to grit her teeth.

"He's taking all the fun for himself..." mumbled Emily as she watched Thresh attack the captain of the ship.

Unlike the other marines, the captain was able to resist Thresh for a few moments, sadly though, only a short while after that, his sword wielding arm was suddenly sent flying through the air, causing him to fall to the floor, which a large part of the crew of the ship then did just a few moments later, seemingly becoming aware of how powerless they were before the old man.

A moment later, as he stared at the trembling captain lying on the floor, Thresh couldn't help but shake his head.

"I guess you can live..."

At that moment, this short slaughter was finally finished, as the much larger, as well as more threatening main dish now awaited the Storm Pirates.
