3 Chapter 3 ( I don't care if they all die.)

BOOM!!!

BOOM!!

Kai stood on the roof of what looked to be a school as he looked at the destruction being caused in every direction.

" This is the most Hollows I've seen at one time since I've come to this world. It doesn't seem natural, though." Kai mumbled as he continued to watch.

As he did, a blue transparent screen appeared floating in front of him.

<<Template Quest>>

- Save as much as possible.

<< Save as many people as possible from the hollows present in town>>

[ Reward]- .01 increase in template completion for every person saved.

[ Accept] [ Decline]

Kai looked at the quest that popped up in front of him, and without any hesitation, he quickly declined it, making it disappear.

" I couldn't care less if they all died." he said as he looked down on the madness that was happening.

' There aren't any punishments for not accepting quests from the system, the only problem being the next quest increases in difficulty, but it shouldn't be much of a problem.' Kai thinks to himself.

" Yoru is able to take care of herself. None of these weaklings would be able to hurt her, so I don't need to go protect her." Kai says.

"Interesting."

Kai muttered as he takes a step and disappears.

It didn't take long after leaving the school. Kai appeared standing on another building, looking at down on two boys.

"Mhm, these two go to the same school as me, and I'm pretty sure that orange-haired one is the protagonist."

" Seems like they caused this."

" Well, it doesn't matter. It seems like they will take care of it anyway, I'll head back and make dinner. Yoru should be home soon."

Kai then once again disappears, leaving the boys, who didn't even notice his presence.

( Later that night)

" He doesn't seem to like helping others much."

" So? He didn't cause the problem he didn't need to help if he didn't want to." Yoru answered as she stared at the blonde man as they once again met late at night.

" He needs more than just you. The more people he cares about, the more normal he will be." He responded.

" The fact he could ignore the lives of children rather go to school with him so easily says a lot." He added as Yoru's nails dug into the floor.

" He doesn't need to be a Saint, but he needs to not be totally detached from everything other than you."

( Yoru)

Yoru was now walking back to Kai's house after the meeting, and it seemed like she wasn't in the best of moods.

' Everything he said was the truth, things I already knew, but why haven't I tried to change his indifference to others lately?'

' I ask, but I already know the answer.'

Yoru sat on the roof of a house and looked at the moon.

" I want him to myself."

" I'm afraid that if others become important to him, I'll lose my importance to him, but I should know better, Kai would never care about anyone as much as he cares about me."

With that settled, Yoru quickly jumped from the roof and headed home.

( Next day)

Kai was once again out walking about the town thing his time to check on the activity of the hollows around.

" It's as I thought. Hollows don't usually act in such large numbers. Was it a part of someone's plan, or was yesterday special?" Kai questioned aloud.

" Even though they weren't strong, I need to make sure there isn't anyone around who could do something stupid, and it ended up hurting Yoru."

Kai finally found his way to his usual spot as he looked at the view and sighed.

" How different would I be if I lived my first life as carefree as them?" He asked as he watched the people of the city go about their day most with smiles on their faces.

" But if they knew what was really out there in the world, would they be able to be this happy still? Or is it the fact that they don't know the reason they are able to be happy?"

" It doesn't matter now. If I weren't broken the way I was, maybe I never would have met Yoru. Meeting her was worth it."

'The life I've led was one of despair and pain it has left me broken, with no way of mending myself without help, maybe I was sent to this world to be come whole again thank to Yoru.' Kai thinks as he turns to the side and looks into the distance.

As he does, he sees someone approaching him, as his instincts flared, warning him of danger.

Kai could sense any hostility from the approaching man, but he still raised his guard and was ready for a fight.

As the man came and stood six feet in front of him and spoke.

"....."
