Welcome to Tim Titan’s dramatic life. At eighteen he commits a horrible crime at a party but gets off because of his affluent father. Although free, Tim carries this obscene crime through his life.<br><br>Because of this, Tim ends up on Pittsburgh’s city streets and barely survives. Bookstore owner Poe Adams hires him and Tim begins to understand responsibility. He lives beneath the bookstore in a small apartment. While at work he meets Tarek Cole. The men become inseparable as friends, but only as friends. Tim begins to question if he wants more with Tarek; something he might never have.<br><br>An older and wiser Tim is invited to take a weekend trip to New York City to visit an old friend and he invites Tarek to join him. On their long drive Tim wonders if it’s time to take their relationship to the next level. Should the two become lovers or stay friends?

Chapter 21

He reaches for my right hand, which I take off the steering wheel and slip it inside his. He asks, “Do you need to pull over. Because if you do, I can drive. I’m quite capable.”

I shake my head. “I’m all all right…All right.”

“I should have told you sooner. It’s just been bothering me. Or should I say eating away at me. I don’t think I want to be with anyone else these days. Just you. Us together. I was looking forward to going to New York City. But honestly, I’m just glad to be with you on this trip.”

“Yes. You should have told me sooner. But better now than never. And…and…You owe me a copy of Tell Me Who You Are. Even if you love me or not. Even if I love you with all my heart.”

He laughs. “You’re crying, Tim. Are you sure you’re all right?”

“Just happy,” I tell him, barely capable of keeping the Pathfinder on the road, slowing down again, and failing as a driver.
