Chapter 22: First Calling

Chapter 22: First Calling

(Authors note: last of this week. Next week I am only uploading 1. I am under immense pressure with life right now so sorry I can't write more :()))

"Mathew? What do you want, it's 3AM." Harvey asked, as he picked my phone up.

"Yeah well, I didn't have a lot of options when Mike and Donna weren't picking up their phones. What the hell did you guys do to get me so many views?" I asked.

I didn't focus on anything like popular artists. I wasn't trying to catapult myself into fame by doing advertisements or signing myself into a recording studio but I still got hundreds of millions of views on all media platforms.

I also found out Mike managed to set up an itunes profile for me, selling each song at $0.99 making me a fuck ton of money too.

"What do you mean?" Harvey asked, annoyed, as I heard him type around on his laptop.

"Wait Harvey, why are you awake at 3?" I then asked him, calming down from my shock a little.

"Because Jessica just dumped a case on me….ah, I think I found the reason." Harvey said, as I could literally hear his massive smile.

I heard his chair creek, as it seemed to slump and relax a bit.

"It wasn't me, it was Louis. He seemed to have contacted quite a bit of people. Donna probably even gave him my facebook account since there's a post I didn't make here." Harvey informed me.

"So…"

"Congratulations Mathew, you made millions from your first few song. Agencies and studios are probably already trying to contact you." Harvey told me.

"Wow…and I was just worried about money." I said.

"Well don't be." Harvey replied, as I heard him stand up. "Look, Mathew, call Mike if you want to know anything else. Right now, I just got a solution to my case so I gotta go." He said, as he cut my call.

I threw my phone aside, and picked Archer up who was sleeping.

"RWAR!" He screamed in annoyance as I swung him around.

"We are rich!" I told him but he seemed completely unbothered.

"Meowwwwww." he replied, informing me that I had been rich for a while.

"You get more treats, you know."

"MEOWWW!"

I woke up once again at 5AM, on the dot and began my daily exercises. I didn't feel any sense of fatigue just like normal.

After finishing my morning workouts and leaving for school, for the second time in my entire life, I felt a surreal amount of fog cover me.

As I drove to school, the air around me started to feel thick and heavy.

The sky darkened, and the street lights flickered as if struggling to stay on.

My visibility decreased rapidly, and I found myself driving blindly through the dense fog.

The fog was surreal and otherworldly, unlike any natural fog I had ever seen before. It seemed to have a life of its own, moving and shifting in unpredictable ways.

I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, that something malevolent was lurking just beyond the fog.

As I slowly slowed down, I noticed strange shapes and shadows moving in the mist.

I heard eerie whispers and voices that seemed to be coming from all around me.

The fog seemed to be playing tricks on my mind, distorting reality and making it difficult to separate fact from fiction.

The second I stopped my car, I heard a concrete whisper.

"You took the bite!" It hissed, as multiple images of shadows formed in front of me.

"I didn't have much of a choice." I replied, controlling my emotions, and summoning my powers. Sound around me hummed in response as waves of my powers gathered around my hands.

I was prepared to attack this fog through the car if needed, but for now I seemed safe.

"That was the point." This time, instead of an aggressive voice, I heard a calm, feminine voice, as the fog formed a solid hand and opened my car door. "Get out." It told me.

I didn't even have time to react since everything happened so quickly.

"I will not harm you. I gave you your power." This time, the hand turned into a young, familiar shadow of a kid.

"You made me almost die to an alpha." I replied, as I shot a sound blast at the kid.

The fog dispersed, and I watched as it moved and regathered itself at the front of the car.

I decided to close the door quickly and said, "I think I am comfortable talking from here. Tell me what you want?" I demanded.

I already had a vague, lingering suspicion on what the fog actually was, but my mind was trying to think of reasons to deny it.

"Whatever you say, Mathew." An old man's voice resounded from beside me, as I turned to see the fog making my head turn to see another figure being created beside me.

I quickly raised my hand to attack him, but before I could, the old man said," Instead of just attacking me, why not hear me out? "

However, I completely ignored him, and blasted with all of my strength, causing the air to quiver at my power.

The fog immediately disappeared and left through my now shattered window. Then, I watched as the sound waves hit the domain of fog around me and caused it to momentarily break.

As it did, I could see the view from outside the domain, and all I saw was utter chaos. Lightning was crackling madly, as the entire world seemed pitch dark and it seemed like I was brought to another dimension

"I will hear you out. As long as you're not near me." I stated my intentions even more clearly.

"That doesn't make sense…I am everywhere though?" I heard the voice of a confused, little girl that formed in front of my car.

"I don't care." I replied, as I once again took control of the sound of the surroundings.

"Too bad huh. If you didn't have mortal restrictions and simply trained, I couldn't use such a measly fog to bother you." The fog spoke, but this time turned into the image of a monkey. The monkey was sitting on the manifestation of a cloud as it wore battle lick armor.

"Get to your point." I spoke, as my nervousness threatened to explode.

"Right. Right. Anyways, I have been watching you, Mathew. And I believe it's time for you to do something in return for your powers." The monkey spoke as it looked at me.

I didn't reply and waited for the Fog to continue.

However the fog also didn't say anything, as the monkey's tail just wagged.

"What do you want?" I eventually asked.

"Ah well, there's these doctors I despise you see. They have recently come into your kingdom and I wish for you to dispose of them." The fog spoke casually, as if talking about disposing of some ants.

I knew who the fog was talking about, but I didn't think they would come so soon, considering it was never mentioned inside of the show.

"They call themselves the 'Dread Doctors' I believe. Anyways I don't like them bending my rules. I made them so I can have entertainment, not to be broken." The Fog told me.

I thought about what the fog meant for a couple of seconds before realizing what it meant.

The entire premise of the doctors in the show was them messing around with supernatural DNA and bending the rules of the supernatural.

If the fog was claiming to have made those rules itself, I could pretty much confirm what it was.

"Your God." I spoke, more like a statement than a question.

The monkey just smirked at me as it looked at me.

"Anyways, kill them for me will you. It would help you to take control of your kingdom soon too." The Monkey said, as it hopped off of the cloud, turning into a massive octopus.

It then started using its tentacles to pull various clouds of fog closer to it.

"All the pieces are being set, but you have to play by the rules." I heard a crooked voice, something that did not sound natural at all.

"I don't have a kingdom." I spoke, as it pulled more and more of the fog into specific places.

"Yet." The fog said. "If you want to survive you will soon have to discover more of your powers. If you think it's limited to Pathokinesis you must be kidding me."

"Then just tell me. What more can I do? Just tell me and I promise you will be entertained." I said, as I regained complete control of my emotions.

The fog in front of me, the God whose messenger I am supposed to be, wants entertainment, and I planned to use that card.

"Welllllllllllll….." The octopus-like voice muttered, as it suddenly turned into wings, with an X mark, filled with bloody eyes, becoming 1000 times bigger than it was just now, breaking through the dome.

Then, it shrunk back to fit into the dome and continued to speak, this time, with a normal voice.

"The others know so there's no point in hiding it. You already know about the war." The Winged-X spoke.

I then recalled what Mr Nakamura had told me and couldn't help but shiver a little. That was real?

How the fuck can this being be called a God, saviour of all living beings if that is real?

"First, you need to unlock your winged form." The Fog told me.

"Then, you have to use your (-)-Submission skill. An innate skill all of my Human messengers receive." He told me, however, as soon as I heard the (-) word, I had forgotten it.

"Lastly, get your army building! If not, be prepared to die. Either way, fun for me." It said, turning back into the old man, with the widest grin I could see anything make.

Then, it snapped out of it and told me," Ah, right. Doctors. Anyways, kill them."

As the old man's fog had disappeared, the mist also slowly began to thin. As it did, the fog continued to say its piece.

"Kill them, receive a reward. My toys never go unrewarded."

I was left, inside of my car, with so many thoughts swarming my mind, as I looked ahead to see the school in front of me, the sunlight hitting my car, through the broken window.
