1 Prologue

Valentina Romero was a Were-jaguar, known as a Nugal among her kind. She was the kind of person who preferred the solitude of her comfort zone, rarely venturing beyond it. That was until she crossed paths with Peter Hale, a notorious werewolf and a rambunctious bad boy of Beacon Hills who had a knack for defying rules. Their unexpected relationship caused quite a stir at Beacon Hills High School.

Valentina's mother had always warned her to avoid Peter Hale, emphasizing that nothing good would come from associating with him. But Valentina was young and in love and never heeded. Despite her mother's advice, Valentina couldn't resist the allure of Peter's rebellious spirit and the genuine connection they shared. Their bond grew stronger with time, and soon, Valentina found herself in an unexpected situation—she was pregnant.

This turn of events was shocking because it was widely believed that a child born to a Werejaguar and a werewolf would never survive to term. Faced with this daunting reality, Valentina made a heart-wrenching decision to keep her pregnancy a secret from Peter, convinced that their love wasn't worth the inevitable heartbreak. With a heavy heart, Valentina quietly left Beacon Hills.

But fate had other plans for her. Valentina faced a new and terrifying threat soon after her departure—The Dread Doctors. They were an enigmatic and formidable force she had never encountered before.

Valentina tried to fight them, to protect herself and her unborn child, but it was a battle she couldn't win. Their powers and technology were beyond anything she had ever seen. Despite her valiant efforts, Valentina was overpowered.

The next thing Valentina knew, she was lying on a cold surgical gurney, her movements restricted by restraints. Panic set in as she realized the gravity of her situation, and she began to plead with her captors.

As she pleaded, tears welled in Valentina's eyes, her voice trembling with fear. "Please, let me go! I won't say anything," she whimpered desperately.

However, her pleas were brushed aside as the Dread Doctors continued their procedures, their eerie silence adding to her helplessness. They conversed among themselves in hushed, cryptic tones, their intentions shrouded in darkness. Valentina could only watch in terror as the fate of both herself and her unborn child hung in the balance, with no mercy or compassion in sight.

Soon enough, the Dread Doctors closed around Valentina's gurney, their presence looming ominously. They lifted her shirt with clinical precision, revealing her slightly swollen abdomen. Dread pooled in Valentina's chest as she realized their sinister intent - they wanted access to her unborn child.

One of the Doctors brandished a syringe filled with an eerie red liquid that resembled blood. Panic gripped Valentina as she fought desperately against them, her screams echoing through the sterile room. She growled and thrashed, her maternal instincts on high alert, determined to shield her unborn child from whatever horrific fate the Doctors had in mind.

But her struggles proved futile. The Dread Doctors, with an unsettling calmness, overpowered her. Valentina's anguished cries filled the room as they administered the red liquid into her abdomen, where her precious baby was nestled. The searing pain was unbearable, and she could feel herself slipping into unconsciousness again, her vision blurring as her world descended into a nightmarish abyss.

The nightmarish cycle repeated an unending nightmare that Valentina couldn't escape. She'd muster up the same futile resistance each time, struggling to shield her unborn child. But it was like fighting against a relentless tide, and the Dread Doctors always emerged victors.

The injection, once a source of terror, became an all-too-familiar routine. Valentina had realized that the ominous red liquid contained the blood of an ancient being, a revelation that sent shivers down her spine. It dawned on her that to these heartless scientists, her child was nothing but a mere experiment, a pawn in their evil game.

Over and over, they subjected her baby to the torment of those injections. Valentina, who had once fought with all her might, slowly gave in to the grim reality. The tears had dried up, and she watched in muted despair with each painful jab. Her tears had been for her child, herself, and the cruel helplessness that engulfed them both.

With each injection, the Dread Doctors would casually check up on the progress of Valentina's unborn child. Their voices, devoid of emotion, would mutter "success" like it was just another mundane task.

The word, which used to signify accomplishment and joy, had now been twisted into something sinister and unsettling.

At some point, Valentina surrendered to the inevitable. She ceased her resistance, her weeping, and her cries of anguish. When the Dread Doctors came for her, she complied with a soul-crushing numbness, returning to her cold cell as if it were her preordained destiny. It was a heart-wrenching acceptance of the horrors that unfolded daily, and all that remained was the haunting silence of her captivity, broken only by the rhythm of the cursed injections.

The day started like any other, but it took a sudden and excruciating turn when Valentina was struck by searing pain. It ripped through her, and as she clutched her abdomen, a rush of water drenched her legs. Her cries of agony filled the sterile room, alerting the Dread Doctors. Their typically robotic demeanor faltered momentarily as they rushed to her side.

Wrangling in pain, Valentina gasped, "Please, make it stop!"

The Dread Doctors instructed her in their eerie, robotic voices, "Push.

Tears streamed down her face as she summoned every ounce of strength. With gritted teeth, she complied, her body trembling with effort. The arrival of this moment, the birth of her child, was both a ray of hope and a cruel reminder of the horrors she had endured for nine agonizing months.

Soon enough, amidst all the pain and tears, Valentina heard her child's cries—a little beacon of hope amid her darkest hours. Overwhelmed with emotion, she couldn't help but let tears of relief and joy flow freely. Her baby, the one she had feared losing, was here—the reason she had found the strength to endure her nightmarish ordeal. He was her one shining light amid the darkness.

Valentina caught snippets of the hushed exchanges among the Dread Doctors with her enhanced hearing. They muttered words like "success" and "boy," revealing the outcome of their cruel experiment. Fueled by a mother's determination, Valentina pleaded with all her might, her voice filled with desperation, "Give him to me!"

She struggled to break free from the restraining straps but remained bound momentarily. But as they finally placed her precious baby in her arms, all the pain, fear, and suffering seemed to vanish instantly. She held her child close, tears of joy streaming down her face, overwhelmed by a surge of emotions—love, relief, and an unbreakable maternal bond.

As Valentina's world faded to black under the relentless onslaught of pain, time lost all meaning. When she finally came to, the surroundings had shifted drastically—she was now in a bland hospital room. Her mother, tears streaking down her face, stood nearby, and Peter, her ever-rebellious yet caring partner, hurried to her side as she began to stir.

They both wrapped Valentina in a comforting, tight embrace in that instant. It was an emotionally charged reunion filled with love and profound relief.

Valentina's head felt hazy, and her memories slowly began to piece together. Her immediate concern was for her baby. She looked around in confusion and panic, her voice trembling as she asked, "Where is he? Where's my son?"

Peter, his eyes filled with relief and concern, gently reassured her. "He's being checked on, Valentina. He'll be here soon."

Before long, the moment Valentina had been eagerly awaiting arrived. The hospital staff brought her baby into the room, cradling the precious bundle in their arms. Valentina's eyes brimmed with tears of joy when she saw him.

She rushed forward, her heart pounding with anticipation, and scooped her child into her arms. It was a tearful and heartwarming embrace as they held each other tightly, Valentina showering her baby with kisses and affection. They cried together, their tears mixing with laughter, in a beautiful moment of reunion.

In that casual yet profoundly emotional moment, all the past months' pain, suffering, and fear faded into the background, replaced by the overwhelming love and happiness that only a mother and her child could share.

Also, when she was gone for nine months, Peter slept with Corrine, which resulted in Malia,  not that he knows.

Would you rather be part of Scott's pack or Derek's pack?

Also, why do you think the dread doctors let her go so quickly along with their first success, and what did they inject into our main character?
