Race 6

A week passed and the issue about me was never discussed. Brother Randy's hired bodyguards were no longer allowed to go to work because there were no more reporters and paparazzi roaming around outside the condo.

I went early to the stadium owned by my family. This is where I always practice for my upcoming competitions.

"Red, I'm glad you're back at work. You've been holed up in your condo for a few days, " he laughed.

I scolded him,

"Really? Happy to see me back at work, Danny? " I said gruffly.

"Why not? We missed the noise of your sports car," he said.

I have a sports car that I use in every competition. It's red, like my nickname. The McLaren Senna GTR was the first sports car that mommy gave me as a gift. I was so happy when I received it from mommy. I know it's worth millions, so I take great care of this car.

I noticed that he was very shiny now. I turned to Danny. He whistled when he noticed me turning to him.

"You really took care of Maroon while I was away. " I said, smiling at him.

I named my sports car Maroon, since the color maroon is close to red.

"Of course, we will not allow your beloved sports car to fail. " I approached him and grabbed one of his arms.

"Thank you!You are really the best manger I have ever had. " I saw the reddening of his ears. I grinned because I knew he was embarrassed by my compliments to him.

"Since you took care of Maroon, I will refer you to my well-known male friends. " Viola! The sudden breadth of the smile of this silly.

"You're smiling like a dog." I teased.

He just rolled his eyes at me.

"Do your training there. In just a few weeks you will be able to compete in the race, "he said.

I went to the locker room first to get dressed, then back to the training grounds again.

I got into my Maroon car and grabbed the steering wheel. Danny was outside the car holding a record book, while he wasn't looking at me. I kissed the steering wheel and hugged it like I was caressing it.

"I missed you, Maroon." I mumbled.

Danny knocked on the top of the car so I was released from hugging the steering wheel and I sat down straight. I cleared my throat before looking at him.

"What is it? "I asked him.

He bent down and stuck his head in the car window.

"You're crazy about what you're doing there. " He flicked my forehead at the same time.

"Ouch! " I screamed.

"It's over acting, you thought I flicked your forehead so hard." He said and he rolled his eyes. "Put on your helmet, we're going to start your training." he added.

So I put on my helmet, as he said.And we started my training.

"I think this is your fastest speed I recorded, Red. " I smirked at him.

"Really? What was my speed last time?"I asked him. And he looked at his record book.

"2 minutes and 58 seconds per lapse." I nodded at what he said.

After my training, I immediately went to a shoot for a gasoline company. I'm still the one who got endorsed for their company, despite my problems in the past.

The shoot ended around five o'clock because the artist with me came late for this endorsement.

I got home to the condo around seven in the evening because of the traffic.

I went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. I didn't even bother preparing food because I already ate before coming home.

After I finished taking a shower, I immediately went to my bed and lay down. That day was tiring. I was about to close my eyes when I heard the sound on my phone.

I reached for it from my side table then checked who was calling.

Call from daddy.

I immediately answered.

"Good evening dad. " I answered.

"Hello, Red? How's your day? " I took a deep sigh.

"Quite tiring. " I answered sparingly.

"You have a busy schedule on this day? " I got up and leaned against the headboard of my bed.

"Not really. " I heard him chuckle.

"Oh, by the way. Your grandfather said you are going to a party tomorrow. Our family is invited to that party. " I frowned.

"What party are we going to? "

"Launch party of a well-known business man. Your grandfather hasn't told me the details yet. You should be there tomorrow night. " I rolled my eyes.

That old man, argh!

"Do I really have to be there at that party? "

"Sorry, sweetheart. You really need to be there with us. "

"Why?! "

Why did that old man come home to the Philippines?

"Red, don't try to contradict your grandfather. You know what your grandfather can do. He might drag you to the party with the bodyguards."

"Where is justice, daddy?" I heard his soft laugh.

"Red, you're really a stubborn girl. You are very different from your brother. " I let out a sigh again.

"Okay dad, tomorrow I'll go to the party you're going to. "

"I'll just have my driver pick you up at your condo. Is that okay with you? "

"Yes,daddy. " I yawned. I think I'm getting sleepy.

"Good, go ahead and rest, I know you're tired,"he said.

After that, he hung up the call.

I woke up past ten in the morning. It was just right to go to the mall because they open at this time as well.

I got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. After that, I fixed myself. I wore a simple white t-shirt, skinny jeans and white sneakers. I tied my hair in a ponytail and put on a white baseball cap.

I looked in the mirror first and took my handbag that was on my bed.

I took a cab going to the mall. I didn't bring my other car. What I brought home yesterday was my sports car.

The trip to Ayala's is more than 30 minutes since there is not that much traffic on the road.

I headed to a boutique to shop for clothes to wear to the party later. I was looking for a red dress, until I saw it in the farthest row of mannequins.

I liked it because of the design, the hem of the dress sparkles. I think it suits me when I wear it.

I was about to take it when another hand appeared there holding also the dress.

I looked at whose hand it was. To my shock, it was Einah Torres.

Her reaction was also surprised when she looked back at me.

"You?" She said in surprise.

"Yes,it's me. " I smiled at her.

Her facial expression suddenly changed. Now she is frowning.

"What are you doing here " she asked gruffly.

"Isn't it obvious? Shopping for clothes." and she looked at the dress. We didn't realize that we were still holding on to the red dress.

I raised my eyebrows at her.

"What's wrong, Einah? You want this dress too? " she suddenly turned to me.

"It's probably obvious that I like this dress."

I snorted.

"How come, I like this dress too. " she let go of the clothes and crossed her arms in front of me.

"I liked this first. " I smiled widely at her.

"But I saw it first. " She laughed in a fake way.

"As if it fits you." I grinned at her.

"Why can't we call the sales clerk? To find out? "

"Go ahead and call the sales clerk. " She challenged.

I immediately called the sales clerk, and she came to us.

"Good morning, ladies. What can I help you with?" she greeted.

"Is there an available size and stock of this dress? "I asked the woman.

She smiled at us.

"Only a small size is available and only one of those dresses is available, it's a limited edition. "The woman answered.

I looked at Einah,

"They only have a small size and only one in stock because this dress is a limited edition. So, what size are you, Einah?"

I looked over her from head to toe. If you look at it, Einah's body is a little bigger than mine.

She rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, I'll just look for another dress. Better than that."she scorned.

She quickly left in front of me. I know she is upset because of me.

I am happy because I bought this red dress. I was just leaving the boutique, I passed her who was still shopping for clothes. She turned to me, I gave her a teasing smile. Which annoyed her even more and I waved to her as I left the shop.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud because of the teasing I did to Einah. Cause other shoppers to turn to me.

I also went to the salon to fix my hair for later.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, I got home to the condo. I got dressed, I put on the red dress I bought earlier at the mall. I put a little make-up on my face, it just looks natural. 

I got a message from daddy, asking if I was okay and ready to go to the party.

I texted him back and told him to pick me up from his driver.

I waited for about 20 minutes when his driver called.He was in front of the condominium. I took my purse from my mini table in the living room and left my unit.

I entered the elevator and pressed the button down to the first floor. When I was on the first floor, I immediately came out of the building and the white limousine was parked there. Daddy's driver was waiting there. I looked up at the sky.

The sky is very clear and the stars are coming out. He opened the door and helped me get into the car.

When I got to the party venue, I just got out of the car. I couldn't help but be amazed because the venue was so well organized.

I went inside and looked for daddy. I saw them on a table. Daddy was standing while talking to another business executive. I caught a glimpse of grandpa next to Brother Randy, he was sitting formally and I could see the strictness in his appearance.

I greeted him and sat next to Brother Randy. Suddenly, the lights dimmed and the host came out, signaling that the party was about to begin.
