Chapter 4 - Father-In-La.....Ye Zong
''Who has such strong Killing Intent?'' Ye Ziyun asked with a frightened expression while grabbing the edge of Ye Feng's clothes.
Ye Feng turned around and pushed Ye Ziyun towards the opposite sight of the Killing Intent.
''Go! I will buy you time, you run to the guards and notify them!'' Ye Feng said with a cold expression while he straightened his back.
Small droplets of sweat formed fell from his face while his eyes turned emotionless.
''They should be after me! Just run!'' Ye Ziyun said while biting her underlip.
''That is exactly why I said you should go, they might let me live if I stand here but if it's you, your fate is sealed'' Ye Feng said coldly and used his strength to launch Ye Ziyun a few meters away.
Ye Ziyun wanted to turn around, small tears started to form inside her purple eyes, Ye Feng turned around and looked at her with a warm smile.
She knew that this Killing Intent belonged to someone of at least Peak-Gold Rank, how someone so strong could slip and release their Killing Intent without anyone noticing was too much for her to comprehend.
Ye Ziyun quickly grabbed a token from her clothes and crushed it, that pendant was something that would instantly notify all the guards that there was an enemy.
Ye Ziyun disappeared out of sight and Ye Feng looked at the incoming silhouette, although he was 99% sure it was either Ye Zong himself or someone close to him, everything was possible.
''Brat!....''
An angry howl ran through Ye Feng's head and the silhouette became more visible in the moonlight.
Ye Zong!
''Why are you aiming Killing Intent at me?'' Ye Feng asked with a confused expression while he kept his back straight.
''What did you do to my daughter?!'' Ye Zong howled and closed the distance between the two.
Ye Zong supressed his strength to not kill him and threw right fist at Ye Feng's stomach.
Ye Feng saw the incoming fist in a blur and quickly guarded his stomach.
*BOOM*
Ye Feng was thrown tens of meters away and crashed into a tree, blood started dripping from his lips.
'Indeed, strength rules here!' Ye Feng thought to himself while his face remained expressionless, for some reason, he felt extremely calm and collected and didn't panic despite the huge amount of pain coming from his body.
''*Ptui* Even if I did something, do you have the right to complain about that?'' Ye Feng said coldly which earned him another kick to his side which made him crash into another tree.
''WHAT DID YOU SAY?!'' Ye Zong roared and walked slowly towards Ye Feng.
''You heard me right *Cough* *Cough*, You might be strong but you're one fucking useless father, you fucking deadbeat *Ptui*'' Ye Feng said with a cold face and spit in front of Ye Zong's shoes.
Ye Zong's body shook for a moment before rage and humiliation kicked in and sent another kick towards Ye Feng.
'Even if it's you, I won't let you hit me for free asshole!' Ye Feng's eyes glinted dangerously and Ye Zong's kick hit him straight on the chest.
The moment the kick connected, Ye Feng's right hand came from behind him with a small knife coated in poison in it and sent it into Ye Zong's ankle.
*BOOM*
*Cough* *Cough*
Ye Feng's body felt terrible yet his cold eyes still looked at Ye Zong.
Ye Zong could see the emotions in Ye Feng's eyes, Rage, Anger, Mocking and Disdain.
Ye Zong could swear a vain popped on top of his head as he looked at Ye Feng's expression.
''FATHER?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!''
An angry scream ran through the trees and Ye Feng and Ye Zong both turned their heads to a dumbstruck Ye Ziyun.
''Ziyun.... w...we were just spa-'' Ye Zong quickly tried to explain, his previous domineering aura completely disappeared.
''SHUT UP! Don't think I'm stupid!'' Ye Ziyun screamed in anger and tears formed in her eyes when she looked at Ye Feng's current figure, his chest area covered in blood.
Ye Zong looked at his daughter that was running towards Ye Feng with a complicated expression but when he saw Ye Feng's sneer on his face he almost wanted to storm over and give this audicious brat another kick!
'This kid doesn't learn!' Ye Zong gritted his teeth and could only look as his daughter tended the wounds of Ye Feng.
''Are you okay? This is my fault.... This is all my fault...'' Ye Ziyun said while tears streamed down her cheeks.
She had ran as fast as she could to a Guard Post but the Guards naturally noticed the Killing Intent was from their City Lord as they had fought alongside him quite a few times.
When Ye Ziyun they arrived here, the guards had already disappeared from behind her, thinking they weren't needed anymore since it was their City Lord anyway.
''Stop blaming yourself for someone else's negative IQ'' Ye Feng weakly smiled and wiped her tears away.
Ye Zong was trying to hold himself back with all the power his body could muster and looked at Ye Feng.
Ye Ziyun turned around and looked at her father with a murderous expression and said,
''You barely come and see me and leave me alone all the time yet when I finally have someone I can call a friend, you ruin it for me?! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!''
Ye Ziyun said in a mixture of tears and anger and continued,
''When mother died, I didn't blame you for anything when you were busy and left me alone to get taken care off by the servants yet you want to ruin it for me?! AGAIN?!''
''Ziyun, that is not what I'm trying but what if this kid has ulterior motives?'' Ye Zong hastily asked in the hope he could explain himself a little bit.
''Ulterior motives?! That is your excuse for hurting him like this just because he came close to me?! Even if I loved him, what could you do about it?!'' Ye Ziyun yelled in a fit of rage.
Ye Zong was petrified, he had never seen his daughter this angry, let alone at him!
'Maybe I truly was too hasty' Ye Zong smiled bitterly and grabbed a few pills from his Spatial Ring and threw them over to Ye Feng who caught them and swallowed them.
Ye Zong turned around and wanted nothing more than to just leave, he had messed up!
''She just poured her heart out and yet you just leave?'' Ye Zong turned around and looked at Ye Feng who just stopped him.
Ye Feng was already trying to climb up, Ye Ziyun grabbed his arm and put his arm around her shoulder with a worried expression.
'How soft' Ye Feng thought as he felt his body lean against Ye Ziyun's but quickly shook his head and looked at Ye Zong.
''Follow me'' Ye Feng said coldly while trying steadily walk to his home, luckily the damage was only a bit around the back garden....
'My beautiful garden! I swear, when I'm stronger I will let you hear something interesting' Ye Feng looked at his beautiful garden that had some broken trees and holes in the ground and cursed inwardly.
A minute later they arrived at the chairs outside of Ye Feng's house and he motioned them to sit.
Ye Zong just looked at him but upon seeing his daughter obediently listening to Ye Feng, he sat down aswell.
Ye Feng walked inside the house with slow steps since his body wasn't healed yet and grabbed them something to drink.
Outside, Ye Zong looked at Ye Ziyun and asked,
''Do you hate me?''
Ye Ziyun looked at her father and sighed, ''No.''
''Can we pl-''
''I'm back'' Ye Feng came back with drinks in his hands, Ye Zong was annoyed but couldn't blame the kid.
''Ye Feng, why did you want Father to come back with us?'' Ye Ziyun asked in a confused tone.
''Can't I be here?'' Ye Zong asked in annoyance.
''It isn't that you can't, but after what you have done? Aren't you ashamed at yourself!'' Ye Ziyun said in anger when she remembered Ye Feng's bloodied figure, his clothes were still ripped up and covered in blood.
''I grabbed you two something to drink not to argue but to fucking talk, if you keep pushing away your fucking feelings, be my guest but then I'll call you Idiots starting from today!'' Ye Feng interrupted in anger.
Both Ye Ziyun and Ye Zong looked at Ye Feng with their mouths wide open, they didn't expect Ye Feng's sudden outburst!
''Both of you are family, you are angry because it seems that your father doesn't care about you and it makes you feel lonely right?'' Ye Feng said to Ye Ziyun who absentmindedly nodded.
''What is your response to that?'' Ye Feng asked Ye Zong with a cold expression.
''I have to protect Glory City! My wor-''
''Work, work, work and more work, can you stop using that as a fucking excuse? There are countless people in Glory City, why do you have to do everything by yourself?''
Although Ye Zong didn't know why he even answered in the first place, he knew he was being stubborn.
''Your wife died, what would she think when your daughter is living like this?'' Ye Feng suddenly asked.
Ye Zong's body shook and knew, what he was doing was wrong..... But what about the countless lives in Glory City?
Ye Feng knew Ye Zong had to worry about a lot of things but if you can't take care of your child, don't make one....
Although he was very grateful for bringing Ye Ziyun onto this world for various reasons hehe...
