Ki Pool

As I felt the gentle strength of my ki flow through my body, I felt a sense of accomplishment unlike anything else and then quickly began to feel very tired.

Was I expending my ki?

I focused on my ki core and quickly commanded the ki to stop flowing from my core. As soon as I did that, I felt my eyes turn heavy as darkness filled my vision.

"WAKE UP!"

I heard a screeching voice and felt pain in my cheeks, this could only be one person. The soulless Jessica herself. Ripping her hands away from my cheeks I glared at her and said "I'm awake"

She seemed amused at my reaction before appearing melancholic for a moment and then returning to her previous self. Noting the reaction, but not knowing what to say, I simply ignored it and asked "What time is it"

To which she responded by saying "It's quarter past noon, time for you to eat some lunch and stop sleeping." She grabbed my wrist and dragged me to get some lunch.

After we both finished eating, she looked at me, once again in a melancholic mood and said "I got a job. I'm leaving the orphanage tomorrow."

I felt shocked at the realization that the person who had been with me this whole time was going to be gone in a days time, but with a quick use of combat meditation, I calmed down and said "What is your job going to be?"

"I'm going to be a babysitter for a rich family, when taking care of you I discovered my passion for raising kids."

I carried along with a tide of questions about what she was going to be doing before finally letting the matter be put to rest and leaving. I headed towards the Headmasters office and knocked. In excitement, I didn't wait for a response and immediately entered. Upon entering I spotted Grey already inside examining a small machine on Headmaster Wilbecks desk.

Noticing my presence, Headmaster Wilbeck quickly asked "What's so important that you simply had to barge into the room without permission Alio?"

Without much thought, I quickly replied "I formed my ki core"

She widened her eyes and said "What a coincidence, Grey also just finished forming his ki core. I suppose you progressed quickly because you could already sense your ki beforehand. Grey is currently using a machine to test how large his ki pool can become, you can go after him."

I walked towards Grey, only to notice that something was off, his shoulders were slumped and he seemed like his dreams had just been crushed. Ah, he just learnt about his tiny ki pool, he must be very disappointed.

Grey looked at Headmaster Wilbeck and said "It says I have a below average ki pool." Headmaster Wilbeck sighed and brought Grey to a different room, telling me to inject my ki into the machine by imagining moving the ki, similar to how I had formed my ki core.

Following her instructions I let my ki leave my core and tried to funnel it into the strange machine. After a few attempts I had gotten the hang of it and the screen on the machine lit up and displayed text that stated "30 percent complete". I continued smoothly pumping my ki into the machine for around a minute before the process was finally complete and I could see how much potential I had. This was a moment that would make or break many plans I had for the future, and I only hoped that I would at least be average.

The words that popped up on the screen made me forget all my troubles and thank my luck. I had worked hard for all my other skills, so getting something with no effort felt incredible. I had an above average ki pool.

My ki pool wouldn't compare to the likes of the legacy but it would definitely not be a weakness for me. With this in mind I waited until Headmaster Wilbeck returned and told her my results. Despite my results, she seemed rather unimpressed, and muttered "I guess it isn't him..."

She quickly switched her mood and began explaining what I needed to do in order to train my ki core. She recommended that I exausted my core as much as I could in order to grow it, stating that it was like a muscle and needed to be trained in a similar manner. She ushered me out of the room and quickly closed the door behind her.

Olivia Wilbeck POV:

I let out a sigh as I thought of the events that transpired today, I had gained hope and it was crushed. I believed that I may have found the legacy without even trying, yet it appears that Alio was simply a regular talented child. When I find the legacy, Alio will make a good friend and rival for them.

Now I must truly don my alias as the Sorceress and find the legacy as soon as possible. After all, the council of the very country I live in has ordered me to find the legacy.

Had Alio truly been the legacy, would I have handed him over for the well being of our country? Or would I have hidden him, raised him normally, hoping to never be found out. I was tasked with finding the legacy, yet I do not have the ruthlessness in me to raise a child to become a soldier.

I know myself, I would have been unable to hand over Alio. What makes the child that truly is the legacy any different? No child deserves to live the kind of life that the legacy is fated for. That has settled it, I will find the legacy and protect them, regardless of the consequences, I will not raise a child soldier.

I need to raise Alio, Grey and Nico to be strong enough to not be taken hostage in order to get to the legacy. I don't want them to be hurt due to being related to me, they must have personal strength.

From now on, I'll have to train them myself.

Wilbeck POV was headcannon, Earth is going to be a slight AU because I don't know if there is enough knowledge from the original to draw from.
