Black Knight of Dacithen

A/N: Honestly writing this chapter wasn't fun, but I always found it weird that parents just let their child that spends all their time training and not doing anything as a real family just go off into some stupidly dangerous stuff because they are strong and don't feel anything. So, here we are.

(First POV)

—Next Day—

*Sniff…Sniff Sniff Sniff*

I jumped up from my bed as I felt the emptiness in my stomach. Smelling the delicious fragrance in the air, I heard my stomach growl as it yearned for food. I slowly got out of bed as I scratched my head and yawned. I left my room and as soon as I opened the door, all the delicious smells of food hit me.

I could smell apple & cinnamon pie, turkey along with what smelled like hoblizard tails. As I walked down the hallway I was able to smell the boiled vegetables. Carrots, broccoli, potatoes, and cabbage from the smell.

I opened a door and peeked my head in. I saw my mom standing at the stove as she stirred a pot. She turned and looked at me before smiling. The kitchen was big. There was a long island counter in the middle and from my view the stove would be to the left.

On both the left and the right were marble counters with the fridge being on the left of the stove. On the right was a sink with cabinets going along the top and bottom. Above the sink was a window that was open letting a breeze in as the scent of breakfast left the kitchen.

"Food'll be ready in a minute. Get yourself together and wake up your father for me." She said in a soft voice. I nodded my head and closed the door as I walked back down the hallway and into the bathroom.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face before going to my room and getting some casual clothes before heading into the bathroom for a shower. With magic crystals anything was possible.

While in the showrr I played music as I washed myself clean. After ten minutes I got out and dried myself off with wind magic. For a six year old, my body was quite…fit? Nah, it was more than that. Well screw it.

I put on my clothes which consisted of black pants tucked into some fitted boots, a white shirt and a baggy black jacket. It matched nicely with my black hair and golden yellow eyes.

I left the bathroom and went back down the hall towards my parents room. I opened the door and saw my dad sleeping wildly as he snored like some bear in hibernation.

"Dad!!" I said as I shook him a bit.

He didn't wake up.

"…" I looked at him with a blank stare and sighed.

'I didn't want to-…who am I kidding, I should've started with this.' I thought as I made a waterball and with a cheeky grin on my face I threw it at his face.

He jumped up breathing in a huge amount of air as he looked around. I ran for the door before he could try to catch me as I went back to the kitchen. My mom was wearing some black pants that fit her perfectly along with a white button up shirt with her sleeves rolled up.

Her shirt was tucked in along with her pants being tucked into some black boots that were above the knees. She looked amazing and like she was some war general out of uniform. Her black hair was curled and ran over the left side of her shoulder.

"Is your father up?" She asked as she sat food on the table.

"Yeah, I'm sure he's awake just fine." I said with a low, sinister laugh.

"Come help get plates and forks." Mom said to me with a laugh as she shook her head. I went over to the draw and took out the proper utensils for our breakfast which honestly looked like dinner.

Well meh, our family eats a lot.

Soon my dad walked in wearing black pants, a tucked in white shirt that showed his muscles and a black jacket draped on his shoulders. He also wore black boots. Along with that he had something on his waist that surprised me to the core.

He had an O katana with a red handle and black sheath on his waist.

'Wasn't this a western novel? Why is there a katana here?' I thought as I looked at the sword. My dad seemed to notice my gaze and put it up to view.

"I found this old thing in a S-rank dungeon dive. A place full of undead from some necromancer that wouldn't be laid to rest. After killing it we went deeper into the dungeon and I found this. Your mother had her own bow, but it barely comes off the shelf now." He said, whispering that last bit.

A fork went flying past my dad's head and into the wall.

"I don't think I need it." She said with a smile.

"Right."

My dad sat down and used wind magic to open up the cabinets at the top and got down some plates. My dad had started folding the napkins and I was listening to 'Murder She Wrote' by Sleepy Hallow.

I had it on low so I could still hear what my parents were saying.

The plates were set and we all sat at the table to eat.

"So what's the plan for today?" Dad asked as he took a bite of turkey.

"I already took care of planning out the day, but first…" My mom stopped as she put up her storage ring and in a burst of like there were three fox masks on the table.

"We'll need these." She continued.

The two white ones were for mom and dad while the black one was mine.

"We'll have to conceal our identities, so put on some contacts as well." She added. We nodded and went back to eating.

"So about our plans. There's a play going on around the shopping district. It's about the Black Knight of Dacithen. Afterwards we can go out for a snack at Danny's Bakery. When we're done with that we'll go shopping and…"

"Hold on!!" Dad said as he interrupted mom. His eyes were spinning like he was a pokemon that just got KO'd.

"Let's go over it once we're out there. Your food will definitely get cold." He said as he took a sip of juice from his cut.

Afterwards everyone finished their food and we set out with our masks on. We took a low class carriage to keep up the appearance of us being normal people. Once we stepped out of the carriage and onto the streets of Xyrus, we got looks, but I'm sure it's because of my mom and dad.

Even with the masks on they looked…exotic? No homo though.

"When was the play starting?" I asked as I looked up at my mom.

"In about two hours. So, what should we do with that time?" She wondered.

"How about a haircut? After all, your hair has been getting a little shabby." My mom suggested.

"Nope, nah. My hair is amazing in all of its perfection and glory. It also adds to the charm, no?" I said in a narcissistic manner.

*Sigh*

I heard my mother sigh as I laughed lowly.

"How about there? Let's see what's going on." My father said as he pointed to a place where many people were gathered. We went over and saw a man doing magic tricks for kids as he got some money.

He made one small fire dragon and a water dragon fight. In this situation the water dragon would have won easily, but the way he made them fight was fantastic.

The water dragon shot a stream of water at the fire dragon, but it dodged and spun its body around the stream before shooting a blazing ball of fire into the water dragon. In the end it was a draw as they both turned into steam. Me and my parents clapped for him and gave him 3 gold coins each.

Even one gold coin was enough to give the man an amazing house and more. Clothes, food, even a decent wand. The one on his waist was just a stick, like a wizard wand. Some people looked at us in shock for just tossing away gold like that, but it didn't matter to us.

After all, my parents just had to flash their S-rank adventurer card at people and they would understand. Although they said it'd only be used if it's required.

Anyways, after doing that we wandered around a bit until it was finally time for the play.

(Third POV)

"The tale of The Black Knight of Dacithen. It's a sad and dark tale of a fallen knight that came back from the dead to kill its enemies. To complete its mission and to do what it was required to do.

Keep in mind this story is true." The storyteller said as music began.

—The Great War—

"My king, I come to you with bad news. We're being flanked by Ice Folk to our right. The Elves have pushed us back to the checkpoint and it seems those damn Dwarves have cut off trade with us to stay neutral in the war. Our men are getting slaughtered and we're low on resources. What can we do?!" The knight said as he shouted in despair.

"I see. Get back out there and fight. To the very last man even on your deathbed I'll call you forth and you'll fight again. All of you will fight on. I'll meet you on the battlefield soldier." The king said as he got up.

Stepping from the shadows and into the light, the king was revealed to be in heavy golden armor. In his right hand was a sword and in his left was a shield that was also clad in gold.

The knight ran off back into battle and the king spoke.

"Merline, go call for my horses and begin the fail safe procedure. In the event we lose I want the magic to activate and begin the resurrection process."

"Yes, sire." A faint voice in the corner of the room said. There was a tornado of wind and in the next moment the presence of the royal mage was gone.

"It's high time, I went out to do my duty both as a king and a father." He said as he walked out of the castle. He got on his white stallion and rode it towards the portal.

Once he came through he saw it. The black smoke in the sky, the crisp smell of burned bodies, blood, fire and death all going into his nose. The scene before him was tragic. He walked out from the portal and passed all of the injured knights, the dead knights, and even ones barely hanging on.

As they saw their king walking by them on his horse and clad in his golden armor their eyes lit up with hope and smiles could be seen coming onto their faces. Some cried and some shouted, but in unison they all bowed their heads.

At that moment he sprung off on his horse. Rushing through the campsite that was held behind a hill for recovery, he could see the smoke getting thick as the smell of blood and burned bodies followed.

As he rode down the hill, he could see up to where his soldiers were holding the line. He raised his sword towards the sky as it combusted in flames. Above his sword was a ball of fire the same size as a basketball and the light it was giving off was magnificent. The mana could be felt all across the battlefield as everyone saw this golden goliath of a knight running towards them.

He swung his sword downward and the ball of fire blasted off. Along with that the king casted a healing spell that would heal everyone in his vicinity. As he rode towards the line of defense the soldiers saw the light he was giving off and in that moment he looked like a god.

*BOOOOOOOOOM*

There was a massive explosion as a dome of rotating flames was erected. The heat wave blasted soldiers back, but they would all be fine thanks to the healing spell. They felt their mana being refilled faster and with a newfound burst of hope and morality they shot forward with a warcry and smiles on their faces.

Cutting down elves by the dozen the king rode through the battlefield on a rampage. His white horse along with his golden armor were both covered in red as they trampled, sliced, and vaporized anyone in their way.

They were pushing the elves and Ice Folk back and not only that but more and more knights joined in the fights as well. The more time they bought and the harder they fought, the more time the healers would have to do their job. It was magnificent.

One man brought back the hope of a defeated nation!

One man was able to push back the elves and Ice Folk!

One. Single. Man.
