CHAPTER 1: FREE TO LIVE, TO LOVE

It sounded like a clink, the way glass cups would sound in a "cheers." It was only louder; a pin smashing the basin. It sounded as a loud clink that tore through the silence in the bathroom. Tanya had shivered from this sound, it was her hair pin that had dropped unexpectedly on the basin while she was staring herself in the mirror. Perhaps, she was carried away with the beauty that glowed in her dark skin.

"Is anything the matter?" Tina asked after she had opened the bathroom door.

"Nothing Tin, just my hair pin." Tanya replied, one of her feet was in the bath tub. She was about to have her warm morning bath.

"A pin?" Tina looked confused. "I thought I heard a thud or something." She relaxed her face before she closed the door. "Is the water warm?" She shouted from a room.

"Yes mum," she raised her voice to the hearing of her mother, Tina. In such a cold weather as this, a cold bath would be murderous. She exhaled as she allowed the foamy water to submerge her whole body, except her head. She was not aquaphobic, but she would need to see, to think.

There was this thought that has been racing her head since the past three days. She thought about again, like she had always done and it annoyed her the more. When would she ever be free to live? To love?

It would have been better if this restraint was from her mother, she knew no better than disobeying her. It was from someone worse, she knew. The greatest fear is the invisible one, she knew. She scoffed, realizing she was just being disturbed by a note from someone she didn't know. It was scarier she was being threatened because of her love.
