7 CHAPTER 6

You're most welcome!

Being in a daze became my new pass time. Or an exception? I don't know but I slip into the trance for no reason, not concentrating on what going on around me, finding the answers for something impossible to reveal, or it's just me overthinking too much. Huh... Never mind! But I owe Rowan. I owe him a lot and it had to end now and here cause he became too skeptical lately. He talked about a few things that bounced off my mind but that made sense somewhere else. Something not good between my family and Rowan, and everything in between all under the wraps for long. Whenever we talked, he degraded my family a lot and that had me wonder how he transits himself from Rowan Dorthan to someone else. Knock! Knock! Shaking my head I saw upon the way where the sound came. "How you can be so lost forever, Matty? You're being so unconscious lately. What's the matter?" It was Darcy in my office? "Nothing. Just the everyday stuff." I answered in a low tone. "You need a break from everything..... No, I'm not starting it up again. I know you won't listen just suggesting something like let's go out tonight. Some alive places, what do you say?"

Late in the evening, everything seemed so glorious like the milky way on the street from the sky. Everywhere pleasant lights winking like stars making everything look so glamorous. Suddenly, Darcy halted at a shiny, metal entrance. "Your destiny is at your left." She signaled me as I watched the long queue outside the club. "This looks so horrible. It's like gonna take the evening to get in!" I exclaimed. "Don't worry. There's something you don't know. Wait a sec... Hey!" She waved at a man. A tall, dark man glanced over us. "Hey, I've been waiting for you forever." He was Jason, Darcy's boyfriend. He approached our way with a knowing smile on his face. With the glimpse of the second, he pulled Darcy close to his well-built body, and in no time they started kissing each other deeply. "Oh my god!" I covered my eyes in embarrassment. They took a real while to pull apart, being all soaked in the ocean of love. "Ahem! Shall we proceed?" Clearing my throat I pulled up their attention. "Yeah, we should." As we entered the club, music throbbed all into our veins as making our pulse rate dance on beats. It was loud to hear no other thing than the music beats. Of course, I love music but not as loud as it was. We settled near the bar as the location felt a bit good. "I'll grab a few drinks for you ladies." Jason went towards the bar. "Wait you'll need help!" Darcy went back off him. "Oh, these love birds!" I sighed at their intimacy. They were like complicated brains going on and off every day.

Nearly a couple of hours passed since we entered the club but only the love birds enjoyed it. Whereas I, being seated on the seat, feeling all the music beats throbbing inside my body started to felt a bit claustrophobic. Within no time I relaxed out of the club on the patio. "Hush..." I sighed out all the uncomforted. "Do all the clubs are this noisy?!"

"They do!" A known voice echoed my ears. "What?" I turned towards the voice to know its owner was something unexpected. "Rowan?" I squealed surprised. "Yes, it's me."

"Oh my God, I didn't expect you here?!" I said bewildered. "Same here." He said in a lot colder voice. "Huh?"

"No, I mean a woman like you why would she'd be up here?" He explained, relaxing his tone. "Oh! Darcy bought me here. But seems like I'm being the third wheel." I told him pulling my head down. He chuckled at my embarrassment. "That's so rude!" Frowning my face I made my way out of the patio. "Hey wait! Hey?" He ran back to me hold my arms yanking me close to his chest. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that. I mean, ah! That's embarrassing." He jerked his hands off, shaking them behind his neck. "It is," I said indifferently. "Okay, so I'd get us drinks. Just my apologies." And without waiting for a response he left. "Hey wait, I don't..... drink. Huh!" A long sigh fled my lips. "Oops," I covered my eyes in palms and moved away as they saw a couple making out in private but ended up running into Rowan. "Watch your step!" Due to my clumsiness, all the drink got spilled on his tux. "Oh my God, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."

"Don't worry that's fine." I tried to wipe off the stains but stopped me from doing it by grabbing my hands into his. All those things got me off-guard, making me more embarrassed. "I guess we should leave." He told me dragging me out of my thoughts. "Huh? Um... Yeah, I think." I answered weirdly. "Can I drop you?"

"Huh?"

"I don't think you wanna stay either." He pressurized more. "Umm, okay. I'll just let darcy know I'm leaving."

It had been pin-drop silence in his Lamborghini Urus since the moment we hopped in. "Nice car." I made the first step, breaking the stillness. "Thank you. This is one of my pets."

"Of course I know how much you like cars and all since childhood."

"You remember?" He asked surprisingly. "Yeah, I remember how you'd had all those model cars collections, catalogs, and much more stuff. You even knew everything about the cars, you used to talk about it all-day and sorry to say but I use to get bored by everything." Suddenly there was a jerk and we halted in between of roads. "You use to get bored with my talks?" There was a complex look on his face. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that. I mean, I..... Please just drive. We can talk about it later. You don't have to stop in between..."

"It's a red light." I leaning under to see If he said was true. IT WAS! My face reddened in disgrace as it was covered in my palms. My face reddened more when I heard giggles from his side. Slowly his giggles made me laugh and we both busted out loudly as we could.

"Here you go," we stopped at the ice cream parlor for a final treat. "Let's have a seat over there." I nodded. We had seats near the park by the main street. "So, you wanted to say something?" I gawked in awe. "How do you know?" My lips making a perfect 'O'. "I just know," with no satisfactory answer I continued to enjoy my ice cream. "I wanted to thank you for..."

"You're most welcomed." He said without me completing it. "Seriously to say, I wanted to end this all at once not making it any obvious for anyone to think. My parents acting all weird since they've seen you and I don't want to piss them further." I announced in one breathe. "So you mean I should get the fuck outta your life again just cause they don't like me?" Frowning his face, scaring the hell out of me. Seeing my scared face he took a deep breath, calming his muscles. "That bunch of clowns is still controlling your brains?" He tried to restrain but annoyance peeked through his harsh words. "What the hell is your problem Rowan? Why you always disses them whenever I talk about them?"

"You're telling me, what's wrong with you? Why are you still with them when you know the whole truth!"

"I don't wanna talk about this..." I stood up to leave. "Why?!" He stood in my way. "Do you wanna bring this up, now?" Keeping my face straight I stood toe to toe with him. "Please!"

"Would you ever like to be all alone in your life when to get your family out there? No that's what it is,"

"I won't call them as a 'family'"

"Stop it!"

"Would you do that even though you know you're killing yourselves?" His words made me freeze in the way. "Rowan stop it already,"

"You know it's true."

"Rowan please!"

"Admit it."

"Yes, it is! Yes, it's true, but I can't be alone forever like you do." His face turned white from red. "Matty, how dare you?"
